Off-Topic / Re: Is being Rich materially all that its cracked up to be???
« on: December 13, 2011, 12:42:30 am »Message ID: 460452
I grew up, not quite poor, but pretty much lived on welfare, food stamps, charities etc. Now that I have become an adult, I have some a lot of what I need (place to live, steady income, food) and some of what I want. Money doesn't buy happiness and being Rich could make you a jerk. but hey, Money could buy me a house, reliable car, and a retirement. ^_^ No complaints if I ever become "Rich" lol

The only problem I seem to behaving is that I was not approved for a total of 3 and only 1 disappeared after being denied. I got credit for the approved ones. I just wish the links would go away and stop getting my hopes up   ::)

Debate & Discuss / Re: When you hear someone speak slang/broken English
« on: December 12, 2011, 09:43:31 pm »Message ID: 460438
I think when someone speak in improper English they come off as being "slow" when usually it is just the way they were taught. just because they cannot speak in a proper sentence, does not mean they can't do math. I think it is usually just the subculture they grew up in. It's kinda like with small children. If they can say something to their mom and get the response they want, without correction, they will continue to use this "word" to communicate their needs. In theory, the reason people do not change the way they speak is because there is no one constantly telling them different.

Off-Topic / Re: Are You Motivated?

Even though the medical bills are pilling, I have a baby on the way, my fiance is getting "screwed" for hours at his job, I'm staying motivated! It may not make since to stay in a good mood when the bills are pilling suddenly before Christmas, but if I stay optimistic, I will stay motivated. And if I stay motivated, time will keep turning st a faster pace. And if time keeps moving, this will not last :) just my theory though!  :P

Debate & Discuss / Re: God is a Fake
« on: December 11, 2011, 02:16:51 pm »Message ID: 459788
It is each our own choice as to what we believe and I respect others for their choices that are different from mine.  Some people of opposite beliefs call my beliefs fairy tale, myth, etc.  That is not extending the same courtesy of respect ...

More often than not, religious believers do not respect opposing reason, (even while applying the misnomer of 'belief' to reasoning).  Instead, many of these believers claim to extend "respect" to other 'religions' but, not to non-religious positions.  That is not extending the same courtesy of respect.

My question was to the other poster.  I already know where you stand in regards to my beliefs.  I respect your beliefs (or non-beliefs) and am not wanting to go in circles with you.  Thank you. :)

You have it exactly right! ^_^ I believe that everyone has their own religious path that they make and who am I to say that they are wrong?! I have no right. In fact, upon listening to them, I may be swayed t'words their belief. If it makes sense to you and helps you in the hard times and proves its self again and again to be right, then how am I suppose to say it's wrong? It may not be the way for me, but I am happy you have found something so inspirational and meaningful. ^_^ As long as someone is happy and understands it completely and it makes sense then it is right. Just don't try to tell me I'm wrong just because I have found that happiness and understanding in a way that is different.
