My kids know that Santa love home made donuts and also love to drink coffee. They always put those two combo on the table near our Christmas tree along with their wishes list and letter with it. I go to midnight mass every Christmas Eve and come back very early morning around 1-2am. Kids are already fall asleep. I wrap their presents for about 2 hours or so and eat the donut and drink the coffee the put up for Santa. I look at their list and if I did not get one of what they listed. I write back a letter say that its from Santa.I used to do this every year when my kids were little, along with a note to Santa from the kids about what they wanted for Christmas. Now that my kids are grown, I don't do this anymore but I've still got the notes they left for Santa!
Over the years, I've made a collection of things that my children have written to Santa or made in school, or some of the crazier things they did (like when my son locked me out of the house when I was still in my nightgown and I had to call a Locksmith to get me back in, LOL!)! I'm saving all of these things and when my kids have their first child, I'll be gifting these things to them, along with photos, baby clothes that I saved (like when I first brought them home from the hospital), their first pair of shoes, their hospital bracelets, some of their first toys, etc. so that they can see what "Tiny Terrors" they were and what they have to look forward to with their own child, hahahaha!!! This stuff will surely put a smile on their faces, and maybe a little terror in their hearts, LOL!!!
That sounds like a great idea. It would be really nice to pull out the items when their child did a similar thing they did as a child
