I've been away for a long time, Life has been really rough for about 6 months, but I hope to get back into the swing of things in the next week or two.  I've signed on to be a mystery shopper with one company, maybe I'll make enough at that to have money to do the trial offers here  lol

Hope everybody's doing good.

Have you heard anything yet?   Hope its good news!!

Hi Madd - their answer was the same as all the others - because he has no OTR experience with a semi, he'd have to go through their school, which means more out-of-pocket $$ than we'd have.  He just got off the phone with Swift - they don't have his application on file (he filled it out 3 weeks ago), and said they have a hiring cap - nobody is going to be hired anytime soon.  :dontknow:  Thanks for asking! We'll just cross our fingers and hope, I guess.

Edit: Robbing Peter to pay Paul, and looking for Robin Hood to help out on finances  :P  If we can get hubby to school to get experience with a semi, he'll have a job with Werner.  Looking into schools and financing now

Thanks Madd.  Everything I'd read about Swift was negative...

Hubby finally decided that he won't go with Swift except as a very last resort.  He tried CRST, but because of a fender-bender at work, they won't hire him for at least a year.  (The recycling trailer scraped the door of a pickup that was parked in a curve).  He talked to a recruiter at Covenant, put in an application, and should hear from the recruiter in the next couple of days.

Keeping my fingers crossed again.

Thanks Madd.  Everything I'd read about Swift was negative, which was giving me second thoughts. I showed him what you said, he laughed and said that the only good thing he's heard about them is that they're a good place to get your foot in the trucking door, and that after he's been driving a year or so, he plans to try to get on at another company. He said which one it was but I don't remember lol   Thanks for the info and the welcome, I appreciate it!  :dog: <--- the code says dog, but it looks like a cat to me!

Does anybody have any first-hand experience of Swift Trucking? ie - you, a close family member or friend works for them, did until recently, etc.

With the mortgage, and the rising cost of everything, we're just not making it anymore. Hubby's always wanted to go on the road, and after looking at different companies, decided to call Swift. He explained that he already has his CDLs, and they said he won't have to go through the school, that he'd jump right into training with a mentor.

He went online and filled out an application, so that part's done.  They said they won't have any openings until June, and will call him as soon as they have one. He's supposed to call back next week and see if they might have an early opening.

If anybody has any legitimate info to share, I'd appreciate it.  This is too big a jump (switching jobs) for me to let him do it without me researching as much as I can  ;)

TIA,
Kathy

Hey y'all.  I'm Kathy (in Georgia).  I've been a member for a while, but haven't been active for a while.  As you can see from my banner, I cashed out at over $70, and most of that was from free offers.  I'll be checking to see if there are any more I can do, and hope to be able to start doing some of the CC offers in the next few months.

Thanks Madd.  It's been a rough three weeks. First my cousin (age 55) on the 28th,  Tuesday a friend's mom passed away (she was 88), Wednesday, the lady at the bank who did so much six months ago, to help us get a loan to buy our first house, passed away from aggressive ovarian cancer. She was only 52.  :'(  You're right, losing a loved one at Christmas is always harder. But after going through it more times than I care to remember, it doesn't get any easier.

I hope you all have a great, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.

P.S. - My name's Kathy, easier to spell and remember   ;)

Sorry to hear about your Cousin Wanidowa.  Losing someone at any time is difficult, but at Holiday time it makes it all the more difficult.

Hope you have a restful Christmas.  :) and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

God Bless

... until I found out that the fee for non cardholders was THREE DOLLARS!!!

That's why I like our local bank. If you're out of town, use your card at an ATM that charges a fee, all I have to do is take the ATM receipt to my bank, and they'll deposit the ATM fee back into my account.  Pretty cool!

Absolutely nothing!  Well, hubby and I will spend a little time at his parents and mine, but for the most part, it will be a quiet day for resting. At least I hope.  I spent the better part of two weeks staying at the hospital with my cousin, then came down with the flu/bronchitis/pneumonia two days after her funeral.  Between my normal FibroFatigue, and being sick, I don't have the energy to do anything. So I'm letting everybody else do it this year.

I probably won't be active on here until after the first of the year, so I hope you all have a great Christmas.

Well, I reported him twice, once for the spamming/verbal abusivness.  Then I reported him again, but accidentally sent it before I typed in a reason lol

I've been offline since last week, family emergency/death in the family, so I'm going to try to catch up on offers and messages.  Tomorrow, I guess, though. I have the flu, and it's time for Nap #436  ~grin~

*Edited for typos  lol

No, but you said in another post that it was your referral link - and it's obvious it is, so you're still breaking the rules. If you truly want to make money, stop with the links and start doing the free offers.

HOW IS THIS SPAMMING JUST HELPING PEOPLE OUT THAT DON'T HAVE PAYPAL AND WANT IT SO WHEN THEY GET PAID ON THIS SITE THE MONEY WILL GO TO THERE PAYPAL... *bleep*

You are spamming by posting the same message multiple times in every thread.  Also, you admitted that this is your referral link, so that you will get paid. If you had read the TOS you would know that making money off other people at this site is against the rules. This site is to make money through advertisers, not each other.

If you were really looking for a job, you could find one, having been in jail or not. Trust me, I know.  I have more male cousins who have been in prison, than haven't.

And watch the language. You're going to get a temporary ban, but if you keep on, I'd say you're working toward a permanent one.

I usually don't qualify, but today I did.  Survey about soup.  Which was a good thing, because I had left that off my grocery list, and I'm down to one can!   I don't get hungry, and I forget to eat. Which isn't good for a pre-diabetic. So soup is a mainstay in my house!
