Off-Topic / Job Hunting

I've been looking for additional employment for quite awhile. I've hit the wall, more than a few times but I haven't given up...we really need the extra money. Here's the deal. The economy is bad...unemployment numbers are up, so let's just face facts, there aren't a lot of openings for an almost 50yr old unpublished  poet!
So do I press on, or accept my fate?

I've been looking for legitimate work at home positions for quite sometime. Not too long ago, a Facebook friend of mine told me about Internet shopping, basically you're suppose to get paid to visit websites sign up for offers, sounds familiar doesn't it? Anyway, I thought it sounded easy enough, so I gave it a try-twice! This latest time I only got paid for maybe one assignment, when I completed two! But what  is really wrong, or just as wrong, is the  fact that I did the work-signed up for tons of crap I am not interested in, have had my cell phone buzzing at all hours and was even charged for some texting service I can't use!
Are there legitimate companies out there, or is everyone just interested in ripping someone else off?

Who out there is into internet marketing?? I've been at it for some time now and am having no luck. Especially since I don't have a lot of money to spend. I can't tell you how many programs I've joined, ads all over the web! Some days I just wanna delete it all and just play games on line.
Let me know how you are doing-success or failure, I wanna know if I'm alone out here.

Here's my plan, when the seasons change, have them come by and take what they leave with them!
Winter, you can have your salt, ice melt, shovels, boots, and layers of heavy clothing.
Fall, put away your leaves and rakes.
Summer/Spring your mountain of flip flops, sandals-shorts that probably won't fit this year anyway.
My house is a maze of mixed seasons. Here in the Midwest, you never really know what you're gonna get until you walk out the door. So, everything you might need to protect yourself from the elements is waiting-right by the front door! Piles of coats, jackets and the shoes! Oh my! If I lived in a climate where you could go without shoes, I might be able to see my floor.
Ok, seasons, when you  are ready to change, stop by and claim your belongings, didn't Mother Nature teach you anything? Like, clean up after yourself!

I know the subject is mis leading but I couldn't think of a better way to describe my current situation. It's a rainy Thursday here, and my youngest isn't feeling well. So she's home from school and I'm up grey and early. I don't think she's faking it, but I have my doubts...well, she did finish her homework, so perhaps this whatever it is, took her by surprise. However, her Spring Break is just days away,so I wonder.

Ok, by now  I''m sure everyone is up and moving, so you must have heard the latest in celebrity drama. Lindsay Lohan and the E Trade babies! Really? How dare her ego mess with such a cute commercial! Being drunk and washed up apparently isn't enough for her, now she's got to mar these cute little babies? Can we sue her for child abuse or better yet-being stupid?

What's up with the job market these days? I've been looking for over a year now and have run into a brick wall. The latest scam is either credit reports or signing up for yet another job search engine. The fact that I don't have good credit should have no bearing on whether or not I am qualifyied for the position. Job search clearinghouses...what's up with that? I request more information about a posting and end up signing up for more nothing? Where are the legitimate jobs these days? I've gotten to the point where I no longer submit my resume, and the email responses are almost always the same scam! Beware folks!

First off, I've been married 26  yrs, no applause please! We're going through a rough patch right now, between our finances and our house, there's not a lot of room to breathe. So guess what? He's giving me the silent treatment! Both of us are approaching 50 and he's playing grade school games! Cool. I could get pissed, demand conversation, likeI use to...I wonder which one of us has grown up?

I know it happens every year...and every year I'm not ready. This year seems to be a little slower than most, we've had a lot of drama-from home and auto repairs unemployment and family ups and downs. But I am hanging in there, or at least trying to. I'm looking for some coping tricks, advice prayers just about anything to keep me from loosing my mind completly this year!

Seriously...there are some days I dread getting into my car and going anywhere. I wonder what would happen to the auto industry now if we all stopped-driving?

It's finally happened, here in the Midwest, the rain has stopped!
After days, perhaps even weeks, the sun is shinning. I was beginning to feel like a stowaway on Noah's Ark. My poor old run down roof is breathing a sigh of relief, yes I can hear it...perhaps now I can get it fixed?!

I know what my calendar says. I know what month it is, I can read...I learned all about seasons in 1st grade-I think, I really can't go back that far!
It's October. Halloween and Homecoming High school and football. Cool crisp crunch of leaves covering everything. Sweater weather. Understand? Good. So...why hasn't the sporting world caught on? How many sports are going on? Baseball, football, basketball and hockey? Is there some sort of scheme lurking in athelete land? Don't each of these sports have their own month?
I'm not a big sports fan, go figure, but I have the fortune of living in a city that gobbles this stuff up. Three professional teams-one with the worst record in the history of the sport, one on it's way to the playoffs (oh goodie! beer infused fans adding to construction congestion) and the other status unknown, pre season out of the country?? Help? Where am I?

Who are the geniuses that are responsible for this seasons television viewing? "House" and "Hereos" on the same night is one thing but at the same time?
Who is to blame for this injustice? Oh! "Criminal Minds" and "SVU" When will the madness end!
