One of the most prominent, Conservative, Republican newspapers has endorsed a democratic candidate for the first time in one hundred years. According to Fox News (surprisingly) the newspaper has endorsed Joe Biden. The newspaper criticized trump for the three trillion dollars created before CoVid hit, indicated that he lacks the skill set for a second term, and stated "Joe Biden may not be the president we want, but in 2020, he is the president we desperately need. He will be a president to bring people together and right the ship of the state"..." Sadly, president trump has proven himself to be the antithesis of thoughtful and pragmatic; he has failed to earn a second term". Biden was described as a "caring, compaaaionate and professional public servant".

Off-Topic / EBay

Has anyone sold anything on EBay? I have purchased things before. I have also had someone fraudulently sell something on my account several years ago and I think they still have a two cent balance on my account. I lost a hubcap on one of our cars. Seven months ago I went through the dealer to get a new hubcap and it ended up costing over seventy dollars. Last week I noticed that one of my hub caps is cracked. I discovered that I can get four new hubcaps (cool looking upgrades) from Walmart for about forty dollars. I thought I would list my other three original hubcaps on Ebay which would more than pay for the new hubcaps. I also found a Tiffany sterling silver necklace that I would like to get rid of. I don't think that either of these things can be sold on amazon. Ebay seems like the right venue. Anybody had any luck?

Off-Topic / Positive side of 2020?
« on: October 14, 2020, 03:54:43 pm »Message ID: 1342250
I have been working from home, full time since the middle of January. This has allowed me to be uber organized. It has given me time back normally wasted on commutes, work interruptions, showers, clothes choices/cleaning. I have managed to finish off two large projects: I added a four hundred square foot flagstone patio (approximately) and more than doubled the size of my newly expanded waterfall. I have done more things around the house which has made relations with my wife better. I have discovered additional streams of income. I have been reading thirty minutes a day, learning two foreign languages for thirty minutes a day, and working out an hour every day. I have trained my one year old retreiver and felt good enough about it to get him a playmate that I am currently training. I wash my hands(and sanitize more), do not have dishes in my sink or over flowing laundry.

Off-Topic / And in other 'Non-News"...
« on: September 09, 2020, 03:09:34 pm »Message ID: 1338809
A thirteen year old, autistic white boy was shot by police in Salt Lake City, Utah after his mother called 911 seeking help for her son who was having a mental break down. Related non-news: there have been no riots. Additional non-news: The national guard has not been called in. Even more 'non-news': No calls to defund the police were issued. No comments have been issued from the Biden political tour or White House representives as to whether a visit will be made by politicians capitalizing on news events.  The boy's mother questioned why non-lethal, less aggressive, alternate tools were not used, especially given that the nature of the call was provided as a mental health crisis. Police body cam footage will be released ten business days after the incident. An online fund raising page has been created to help the boy with injuries to his ankles, shoulder, intestines and bladder.

The latest rally with minimal mask coverage. Perhaps the president is looking for another excuse to employ if he loses the election...his constituency dying due to CoVid awarded at rallies. Arizona, Oklahoma, North Carolina...maybe a focus on rallying in battle ground states would be a good idea? Strengthen Biden's position in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia and Iowa by holding rallies that ultimately kill supporters that embrace his mask wearing stance? The United States is only five thousand and fifteen deaths away from hitting two hundred thousand...America is Greatly beating all other countries in death count. The Spanish/1918 (AKA American flu-originated here) went from February 1918 to April 1920. If the CoVid death count keeps this pace it should meet, and beat, the 1918 pandemic.

Off-Topic / Ghislaine Maxwell
« on: July 23, 2020, 12:04:04 pm »Message ID: 1333056
The president has a heart...albeit for playboy bunnies, pornographic movie stars and child sex traffickers. Melania's husband sent his well wishes to Ghislaine Maxwell who is charged with facilitating child sex trafficking with Jeffrey Epstein. The white house tried, lamely, to explain that it was because a guilty child sex trafficker (Jeffrey Epstein) ended up dead in a jail cell. The white house also indicated that donald had been really tough on Epstein, even went so far as to bar him from the internationally renowned Mar A Lago resort ('poo poo on you, no champagne and caviar for you'). The white house explained that don had banned epstein in the early two thousands-long before this case went to court. Soooo, don had knowledge of this illicit behavior years before it went to court. One can only think of how many children would have been spared had the knowledge been shared with the authorities at that time rather than simply grounding him from the club.

Off-Topic / RIP Richard Rose
« on: July 16, 2020, 10:30:02 am »Message ID: 1332470
Thirty seven year old truck driver from Ohio who shared pearls of wisdom like: "Trump 2020", "I'm not buying a bleep mask"; "I've made it this far by not buying into that bleep hype" died July fourth of CoVid. He was perfectly healthy (without a mask) at a crowded pool party on June thirteenth and tested positive for CoVid on July first (the next day he said "This covid sucks! I'm so out of breath just sitting here"), was put under quarantine for fourteen days, dying three days later. A close friend, beside himself with grief, said Rick's loss was horrible but acknowledged that the bigger tragedy is the other people that may have become infected because of Rick's chosen actions. Mr. Rose was also known for criticizing the Black Lives Matter protests, mocking Islamic face coverings and the idea that gender is non-binary.Mr. Rose's final words were "When you see me in heaven don't bleep yourself you judgmental bleeps".

Off-Topic / Now Masks are Okay
« on: July 01, 2020, 03:01:15 pm »Message ID: 1330571
The president endorsed wearing masks, to fight the spread of coronavirus, today after five months Fellow party mates have endorsed the use of masks with some urging the president to set a good example for the American public. The vice president had relented and began wearing a mask several weeks ago. It was only a month ago that the vice president had visited a hospital without a mask on. The Senate Majority leader endorsed masks this week and stated that there should be no stigma associated with the wearing of masks. A variety of excuses have been proffered including not wanting to please the press or wearing of a mask leading to poor optics with foreign leaders. The president had blasted a reuter's analyst for wearing a face mask as a political ploy. In March the president had mocked Joe Biden for being a fear mongerer. Rush Limbaugh (LOL) said that the masks are a "required symbol on the left to promote fear, to promote indecision, to promote the notion that we're nowhere near out of this.". Perhaps additional rehabilitation is needed by Limbaugh.

Off-Topic / Experience

Could the newest scandal have been avoided if proper protocol had been followed? The current President held private conversations with Russia and Turkey. Numerous calls were received, in private from Turkey's Erdogan. Now, in light of the possible Russian involvement with Taliban hired to kill United States Soldiers, he has no backup other that recordings most likely taken and kept by the Russian/Turkish Secret Service directed by leaders that listened to people with experience. Now we will have another two months of news about presidential shortcomings and/or how the Democratic party is wrong for thinking that this presents further collusion evidence or that he just has not been given a chance. It appears that he was given a chance, did not follow directions and is in yet another scandal.

Tweeted "Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down. They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been."  Mr. Kings request went on to include all murals and stained glass representations of "his European mother, and their white friend." Ogalala Sioux President Julian Bear Runner thinks that Mount Rushmore should come down. Missisissippi voters are favorable to changing their state flag, removing the confederate battle emblem. Minneapolis has pledged to dismantle the police department. All of this happening while the world is battling one of the biggest global pandemics. Cancer, Alzheimers, Aides and Herpes seem to have taken a back seat to all of this. Kind of kills any excitement in seeing tomorrow's news headlines.

Off-Topic / Third Degree
« on: May 29, 2020, 01:02:53 pm »Message ID: 1326282
Manslaughter, third degree murder is what the officer, that knelt on George Floyd's neck, has been charged with and is now in custody for. Punishment for manslaughter/third degree murder is less than for murder in the first and/or second degree. This essentially means that the act that lead to the death was voluntary, but the resulting death was not. The requisite intent to prove second degree murder is missing. Third degree murder in Minnesota has a maximum prison sentence of twenty five years. The typical sentence is twenty years. Police found guilty of third degree murder, which is a rare percentage, seem to get between twelve to fifteen years. Odds makers are strong on the officer getting five years and out in three with good behavior.

Off-Topic / RIP: George Floyd

Described as a gentle giant that was starting over after five years in prison for armed robbery he lost his life for allegedly writing a counterfeit check. He leaves behind a six year old daughter. The video was gruesome. Surveillance videos contradict the officer's statement that Floyd was resisting arrest. The officer filmed kneeling on the neck of the victim has been the subject of ten conduct complaints and three police shootings in his nineteen years as an officer. Colin Kaepernic and Ice Cube are calling for revolts. Target and AutoZone closed the local stores after being looted and/or burned. The University of Minnesota won't hire Minneapolis Police officers as security at football games. All this in the wake of the Ahmaud Arbery shooting.

Off-Topic / The Friday

before a three day weekend is dragging. I am very unmotivated. I always save mindless tasks for Fridays but I think that this was a bad idea this week. I have been online shopping for baseball jerseys, hockey jerseys, pricing out watches and jewelry. I have been getting texts from friends all day because they are bored out of their heads. I had a meeting at six thirty this morning and we were told that we could leave four hours early today but I would just have to come back to all of the mundane tasks on Tuesday-in addition to whatever tasks came in over the weekend. It is rare that I get into this frame of mind but I am just not into it today. Maybe it has something to do with a funeral I attended last weekend. Any way, have a great weekend everyone!

Two weeks ago: "Now we're going toward 50--I'm hearing, or 60,000 people. One is too many. I always say it.". I don't think it should be said by anyone other than qualified medical personnel/infectious disease experts.  Latest death count is at seventy one thousand and one hundred and forty eight. Twenty seven percent of those afflicted are dying. Today we have had eleven thousand and seven hundred and thirty five new cases which, at twenty seven percent, equates to over three thousand and forty four more deaths. I have read several posts on Fusion Cash stating that CoVid 19 is nothing more than a cold/flu which is not correct. The death rate from seasonal flu is one tenth of one percent which is a bit different than the current tenty seven percent mortality rate. The infection fatality rate, per researchers from Columbia University, translates to six tenths of a percent which, on the lower end, is still six times higher than the flu.

Off-Topic / Deficit
« on: April 12, 2020, 10:57:01 am »Message ID: 1320705
In 1981 Ronald Reagan  (after vowing to limit the size of the government) doubled the deficit to over two hundred billion dollars. George H.W. Bush passed on a two hundred and ninety billion dollar deficit. William Clinton wiped out the deficit of his predecessors and created a two hundred and thirty six billion dollar surplus. George W. Bush took the surplus and created a four hundred and fifty eight billion dollar deficit which would triple, before the oncoming Obama administration, as the country was faced with a Global financial crisis. One point four trillion was ultimately handed to Barack Obama who also added hundreds of billions to the deficit. Donald Trump increased the deficit by seven hundred and seventy nine billion during his first year in office (Tax cuts/increased defense spending). The deficit increased to over one trillion dollars in 2019. This was all before the $2 trillion stimulus package related to Covid.
