Off-Topic / Any ides for a child's scrapes and cuts?
« on: July 19, 2010, 08:05:09 am »Message ID: 208820
My little nephew fell down the other day and got his face pretty scrapped it. He's 3 and just can't stand any kind of bandaid of his face. He'll just scratch them right off. Same goes if he ever gets a scab he picks it off. Does anyone have any idea on what to do? He keeps scratching and picking at his cuts and anytime you put something over it he'll take it right off, we're worried that he'll end up with scarring if he keeps at it.

Off-Topic / Lenscrafters?

I've been due for an eye exam for a while. I keep putting it off, I know it's wrong. :crybaby2: I made an appointment at Lenscrafters because my usual eye doctor is so backed up with appointments. Has anyone used Lenscrafters before? How was it? Is it worth it?

Off-Topic / The Human Centipede
« on: May 19, 2010, 11:28:14 pm »Message ID: 181828
Has anyone seen this movie? I saw a few seconds of it before I was thinking that it was a bit too much to see. I just want to know what happens at the end. I'm not sure what was worse though, the acting of the girls or the idea of the movie. However, I hate starting a movie and not finishing it. But I don't think I could sit through that so if anyone would be kind enough to tell me what happened, that would be great!!! And in return... :angry7: :angry7: :angry7: <--Your very own emote centipede.

Off-Topic / Don't Feel Like Baby Sitting Rant...I know this is bad.
« on: May 05, 2010, 11:04:13 am »Message ID: 175997
Okay so the story is...

My brother keeps asking me to watch my niece (who I totally love by the way). But when I started watching her he said that he would give me ten dollars each time. Which isn't much I didn't think. I wouldn't charge him but I need the money...it's not like I have a job right now or anything. Usually they tell me at the last minute, which annoys me...but I deal with it. And a lot of the time they don't even pay me. Which is alright, I know money is tight for almost everyone...actually now that I think about it they stopped paying me ages ago.

He also asks me to drive her back home. Which is costing me gas money. And sometimes it's just not a drive home, when I go early in the morning to watch her his girlfriend ends up asking me to drop her off at work or drop her daughter off at school or both. It becomes a huge never ending drive of unhappyness and gas wasting. And the last time I watched her I took my eyes off of her for a second and she ended up shoving coins into my Wii, and I asked them to at least pay for it to be repaired which is $65 but then he asked me if I was going to pay half....why would I have to pay half!!?? I didn't help her put the coins in there. But I did offer to pay for the shipping. Which was an extra $15...I felt bad.

So he asked me to watch her not too long ago (seriously like an hour ago). There is no one else that is able to watch her since my mom moved away. So when he asks it's impossible for me to say no because there is no one else. But I lied and said I had to go back out to school to drop off some papers. I know this is bad but I just don't feel like it. I have soo many other things that need to be done (lol I know I'm on the internet right now but I just had to complain to someone). And you would think if there is only one person who is able to watch your child you wouldn't treat them like they were expendable. I love my niece I really do...I just don't feel like watching her today.

Off-Topic / Ramen Noodles!
« on: April 25, 2010, 01:24:40 am »Message ID: 167504
I was wondering if anyone else here ate the instant stuff...I actually like it a lot. Although I assume that the real stuff is probably caviar compared to this. But I was wondering does everyone have their own special way of cooking it? I can't eat mine without an egg in it. I've tried to eat it when other people cook it for me but I just can't. If I don't cook it my own way it just doesn't taste good to me. Is anyone else like this or is just this a "me thing"?

Off-Topic / Do you believe in aliens?
« on: April 07, 2010, 07:14:26 am »Message ID: 159166
I actually do. It's a bit scary though but I believe. There is just too much space out there not to be occupied by someone or something. And also wayyy to many accounts of people seeing them or being taken by them. What do you think?

Off-Topic / HIV Test?
« on: March 23, 2010, 12:36:27 am »Message ID: 153039
Has anyone taken one of these? I went to family planning cause my girlfriend was telling me how important it was to get a pap smear, so I went with her. I guess on your first visit to the clinic we went to makes you take an HIV test.

I was nervous because that was my first time going to that type of doctor and adding having someone take my blood made it much worse. I hate needles altogether and usually I always have trouble with getting blood taken. I guess my veins roll or something. (But I heard that's an excuse used when the people taking the blood aren't really good at it.) After the guy got my blood he picked up the little tube and started sort of twirling it around like a mini baton. I busted up laughing when I saw him doing that, then he looked me right in the face and went..."Are you okay?" I thought he was doing that to make me laugh. Turned out I was wrong. *Embarrass*

I was just wanting to know if anyone had any favorites to suggest. I work out at home as a back up just in cause my husband is too tired to go to the gym after work. (It happens often.  :crybaby2:)
I really like Zumba, but I can only dance soo many times before I get bored.

Off-Topic / Racist Remark At Walmart.
« on: March 18, 2010, 06:55:00 am »Message ID: 151128
I guess someone at Wal-Mart went over the P.A. system and said "Attention, Wal-mart customers: All black people, leave the store now."
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Black-people-must-leave-NJ-apf-1749619349.html?x=0
Some people are super angry about it and are going to boycott the store. Well actually I don't think it's some people, it just a lady and her friend (so far I guess). I personally think they should get over it. It's not like the president of Wal-Mart said it himself (herself?). It was probably just another customer anyhow. I mean you don't blame the soup if a fly lands on it do you? I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart has some employee rules that state "Please don't pick out a certain race and ask them to leave the store."

The lady that wants to boycott said that "I depended on Walmart  for all my needs, because the store has pretty much everything you could want" and "But until this issue is addressed in a way I'm comfortable with, I can't walk through those doors again." That sounds like someone who is going to have her issues addressed with gift cards to be comfortable. Who gets angry at a store then say it has pretty much everything you could want? If I was angry at a store I would say something like: "I really liked it before this incident, but now I'm going to burn this mother down."

It was most likely a joke. A really bad one, but a joke none the less. I don't even shop at Wal-Mart so this isn't a really big deal for me. I just think some people take some bad things and run a little too far with it. I'm pretty sure one of you is thinking: "Hey you don't understand because you're not black!" Well for one, how did you know? And two, if someone went over the P.A. system at a store I shopped at and said: "All mixed race shoppers, leave the store." I actually think I would find it funny and wouldn't try to boycott everything that moved. But that's just me. Any thoughts?

Off-Topic / Death of a Sea World Trainer
« on: February 24, 2010, 05:18:01 pm »Message ID: 142445
I was watching the news earlier and I saw that a Sea World trainer passed away due to complications with a killer whale. I feel sorry for the trainer and her family. But taking an animal that big (or any animal for that matter) into captivity then making it dance for people and entertain them is just asking for trouble. Anyone agree? Disagree? What is your take on this?

Off-Topic / Old Movie Suggestions
« on: February 11, 2010, 07:58:43 pm »Message ID: 139025
Not too long ago I watched Gentlemen Prefer Blonds and Some Like It Hot. (I'm loving Marilyn Monroe right now) I'm also a huge Elizabeth Taylor fan (Loved Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and Cleopatra). I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions of good older movies to watch.

« on: February 11, 2010, 02:05:05 pm »Message ID: 138905
Just wanted to know. I'm feeling bad for the Toyota people, mistakes happen all the time. Would you buy one? Or would you buy one again?
