Off-Topic / Job search

Do you believe that people who have had their jobs for so many years understand how hard it is out there to get a job now? My in-law tells me all the time "...just go walk up and apply!", and I'm trying to tell them that it doesn't work that way much anymore. Most of the time, businesses say go apply online, but she doesn't believe me.  She's had both of her jobs forever!! Tell me what you think...I value your thoughts.

Off-Topic / How do you put your kids to bed?

August is coming up so quickly and my daughter is about to start school. One thing we have problems with is getting her to go to sleep on time.  I let her play outside and get good and tired with activities during the day, with a nice warm bath in the evening time, but even if she wakes up early in the morning, she still wants to stay up. Anyone have suggestions??

For me, its simply smoked basmati rice and a couple of burger patties in season salt!!! Eating it as we speak!

I just caught my 4 yr old chewing on a hi-liter!!! It's non-toxic, but reguardless, it still scares the living daylights out of you. Then you start thinking "OKAY! What else have you been putting in your mouth or chewing on that I don't know about?!?!" She is banned from markers and hi-liters for quite a while now!!
Anyone have similar experiences with their kids?

My birthday is on Christmas day, and I just found out that my neighbor's birthday, who I am close friends with for a year now-her b-day is christmas day, the same day as mine. Also last month, another neighbor, who is also a close friend-his birthday is on christmas day as well!! We all live right next to eachother, coincidence? Pretty cool, huh??? Anyone have the same experience?

I know I am doing valid searches, searches that I would otherwise do on google. So why does it keep saying they don't qualify? Yes, I have clicked the "find out why" button, but that's not good enough for me. I am genuinelly searching for something that I have been thinking about, and It does nothing. Can someone explain this to me???

My kid just got bitten by a spider the other day. It started off tiny, and two days later.....wholly crap!!! Scared the life out of me, it got so big so fast! Luckily, the swelling went down, but it spread so fast, I didn't know what to do. No side effects or anything, but that makes you think twice about your kid playing outside. Seems lately, there is always something to fear out in your own yard around your kids.  That combined with the heat, and the threat of West Nile Virus, its almost impossible to let your kids play~anyone else going throught this experience?
