Off-Topic / Legionnaires disease
« on: August 30, 2011, 04:49:07 pm »Message ID: 409242
Holy crap, I'm freaking out because someone in my job has contracted this disease. It's not passed from person to person. It's an airborne disease and now the top officials in our building have sent to get our cooling tower tested to see if it's positive for Legionnaires disease. Oh how I pray that test comes out negative. It's freaking scary for someone to get that. It can eventually lead to lung failure causing death. Now they have to wait 2 weeks to get the results back. That's a long time to wait. I really don't want to walk into that building until they get the results. Uuuggh! I feel like they don't care about us and want us to work in there regardless. By that time, more people can get sick if in fact our building was the source of my co-workers sickness. If it wasn't that I really need a job and the money I would quit but I guess I have to stick through it. So they say, they have already contacted our local and state health department to notify them of the issue. I hope the state can make them shut the building down at least until this nightmare is over. There are too many lives at stake in this place. Well that's my story of the day. I'm hoping for the best for our building and also hoping that my co-worker recovers soon.

I just found out that one of the most influential teachers I've had in my life has died of breast cancer. She was the best teacher ever and I will carry her words of wisdom with me everywhere I go. I remember one day she gave me and the rest of the class an art assignment. We had to draw a human face. I was struggling to draw this picture until I finally gave up on myself. She came over to me and she said "Don't ever say you can't, you can do this it is possible, I believe and I have faith that you can draw." I looked at her and asked "You think so?" She said, "eliminate the words I can't from your vocabulary and I know you can do this." From then on, her words became my life motto. Because of her, I have never given up on myself. I will always love her and remember her for that. Thank you Ms. Seretny. May you RIP. Heaven has gained an angel.  :angel11:

« on: May 01, 2011, 04:12:08 pm »Message ID: 347348
I need help on what to get my mom. I think she's tired of receiving postcards and perfumes on mother's day. At least that's what she gets from my brother and sister. I want to get her something different but I don't know what. If any of you have any ideas, please feel free to leave your suggestions. Thanks!

Off-Topic / I finally have a job.
« on: March 16, 2011, 02:48:25 pm »Message ID: 326951
I'm so excited. I just started working on Monday at Septa, which is the acronym for Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. I'm so happy, happy, happy!!!!!!!!!! I just am so overwhelmed with excitement. I thank God for this opportunity. I'll be working in the Customer service department answering phone calls as to which routes customers have to take to get to their destinations. Give them the times that buses and/or trains will be arriving. It's a lot of work but I'm willing to learn all that there is to know. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Off-Topic / So upset
« on: March 02, 2011, 08:59:14 am »Message ID: 320556
I'm so upset because my brother and his girlfriend are having a child that they are not financially or mentally ready for. Why do these things happen my goodness? He's 22 and she's 20 years old. He has a part-time job and she has nothing, while they're both living at my mom's house. The girlfriend is trying to take over my mom's house. She's lucky she's freaking pregnant 'cause I feel like caving her face in right now. Also, she basically tricked my brother into getting her pregnant. She was taking birth control pills and all of a sudden she stops taking them behind his back. That's sickening. Why would she have to do that to make my brother's life worse than what it is? Uuuggghh! I'm so peeved right now. I don't even want to hear it when the baby's born. All the favors they're going to be asking of me. He just better be damn sure 100% that the child is his. I don't care how much he loves her because she definitely is not a saint. Her family isn't the best either. I just fear that when the child is born that it's going to suffer a whole lot. Neither one of them are prepared to take care of a child. He's so stupid because he believed that she was using the pills and he didn't take secondary precautions to avoid getting her pregnant. It's just want one of those days where I want to freakin' yank my hair out because I already know they're going to be hounding me for everything. This time I'm going to wash my hands like Pilate and not even worry about it. No more nice older sister.

Off-Topic / Kids brains may hold clues to future criminals. CNN article.

I just read the article below and it was shocking to see that scientists can make such a prediction. I'm still kind of skeptical about it. I think it would have to deal more with the way a child was brought up but this article says otherwise.

Off-Topic / Anyone here have great-grandparents that are still living?
« on: February 21, 2011, 09:45:18 am »Message ID: 316274
I have a 95 year old great-grandmother still living. She's in a nursing home now a few blocks away from where I live. She had stopped walking due to a cerebral hemorrhage when she was 91. I remember that she was a very great cook. No one's cooking was better than great-grandma's. I just feel so bad that she's in the nursing home. She's got 9 kids still living but the younger ones are in their 50's or 60's and they can't do much to help her either.

Off-Topic / From Philly? Which place would you pick? Jim's, Pat's or Geno's?
« on: February 13, 2011, 09:09:17 am »Message ID: 313379
For me I would pick Pat's Steaks. They're cheese steaks are so good. I'm mad at Geno. Lol! I'm pretty sure the whole US knows why. Jim's Steaks are great too.

Fellow FusionCasher's I hope the rest of you are having a great day. As for me, I'm all sick and barely just had enough strength to turn on the computer and check up on my daily email. I can't wait 'till winter is over. It sucks. Or at least I'll be happy when the sun finally decides to show itself.

Dear FC, I still haven't received my daily emails. I look in my junk folder. I do have FC listed as a contact in my address book. I also tried to look for the offer on the FC site to see if I may have unsubscribed by accident. I looked for the offer but can't find it. I also looked for it in the hidden offers section and it's not there either. It seems like I won't be able to sign up again for the daily emails. That offer vanished for me.
