FusionCash / Bye For Now
« on: August 15, 2012, 09:16:20 pm »Message ID: 588405
2 years ago when I signed up with Fusion Cash I was working from home, now I am working outside of the home with a very busy 2 year old so unfortunately I am not finding as much time to be on here as I would like. As the saying goes, time is what you make of it, well I want to make my time about my son.

Before I go, I would like to express how grateful I am to this site. When my son arrived Fusion Cash was my saving grace. Everyone tells you kids go through diapers and clothes like crazy but can we say expensive?! Thanks to Fusion Cash I had the extra padding we needed. The offers and promotions are absolutely amazing, other paid to click sites do not come close and as an experienced member I have to say Fusion Cash has gotten better and better so for those that can stick it out please do, you will not regret it.

Hopefully in the future I can log on more but only time will tell. Until we meet again

Off-Topic / Medical Issues
« on: July 20, 2012, 07:55:17 pm »Message ID: 574378
As we age we all know we are more likely to come across medical issues. What do you fear of getting when you are older?

My grandma has Multiple Sclerosis so I'm sure it will hit me, kind of a scary thing considering you can't control when your body just "short circuits" whenever it wants. I would have to say though Alzheimer's would be the worst, I'd hate not knowing who people are and forgetting things I have done every day of my life.

Off-Topic / Movies About Presidents
« on: July 20, 2012, 07:49:29 pm »Message ID: 574375
I think we should always have short series about Presidents. Just finished The Reagan's and watched The Kennedy's awhile back - both on Netflix and I have to say they were both well done. I watched W from Redbox when it first came out and to me that one had it's funny moments just because George W was quite a character. If they made The Bush's in a series and spanned both, I'm sure I'd like it just as much as the Reagan and Kennedy series.

Off-Topic / The Reagans
« on: July 20, 2012, 07:47:03 pm »Message ID: 574374
Just finished watching The Reagans on Netflix. Anytime I watch or read anything w/Ronald it makes me wish I wasn't so young when he was President. Nancy is a whole different story, my thoughts on her are always love hate. Anyone else watch this one?

Does your company pay you mileage? If so what do you get? I think ours is 52 cents to the mile which I hear is really great compared to most

Anyone have a site they recommend for buying cell phone parts? My son cracked my LCD the other day and so far the cheapest I've found to replace myself is on ebay for $99 which I think is the best I am going to get.

Debate & Discuss / Why'd you use the Joint Account?!
« on: June 02, 2012, 04:48:36 pm »Message ID: 546881
So many people handle their finances differently. Some have a joint account, some have separate accounts and each put a set amount into their joint and others prefer to remain separated. Personally whats mine is mine and yours is mine haha kidding kidding but in all seriousness so many couples fight when it comes down to that joint account.

What is your situation? If you are a joint holder what is your biggest fight usually about?

We keep things separate, pay our individual bills (student loans, credit cards) because hey it is our debt not the other persons and then break down the bills as we see fit and it works fine for us. If we've gotten into any financial argument it has been more about who has taken the brunt of grocery or baby items.

Off-Topic / Activated Charcoal
« on: May 31, 2012, 05:45:29 pm »Message ID: 545658
Has anyone ever used Activated Charcoal? A coworker of mine suggested that I take it before I go to a birthday event and it would absorb the toxins from any alcohol I drink to help curb any hangover. I've read a number of reviews and it's almost 50/50 on how people feel about it.

Debate & Discuss / Time Magazine Cover
« on: May 12, 2012, 01:49:10 pm »Message ID: 536553
So if you haven't seen the Time Magazine Cover that is causing a ton of stir take a peek - http://www.everydayfamily.com/blog/cover-your-eyes/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=Chatter6&utm_campaign=Blogs&tc=107020

What are your thoughts on this?

I am all for breastfeeding, I did with my son but the minute he had teeth and started biting, he got cut off (he was about 8 months). I continued to pump and freeze as long as I could and had a pretty decent stock (alternating w/formula) til his first birthday and then we switched him to whole milk. I think anything beyond a year could in fact be considered child abuse, I know a woman that did it til her son was 4 - to me that was a sick distorted pleasure on her end.

As for the co-sleeping, we've done that too. Every new mom has had that moment when your eyes are barely open and you have to do a feeding and so you've done the side thing and wake up an hour later to see your kid passed out right next to you - back to the crib/bassinet/playpen etc. As he got older it obviously changed, we got used to a schedule and he learned that he has his own room, own bed etc. He'll be 2 next week and co-sleeping has come down to it's 4am, can't sleep, I'll go with mom/dad and he will go back to sleep til at least 7:30am, not saying co-sleeping is right but it's what works for us - extra sleep!

As for baby wearing, we bought a carrier thing, used it a few times while I worked from home and I hated it :) It was definitely a trend purchase because once we had it I realized there is absolutely no reason why kids should be in those things, my son had this look of misery on his face. Now that's not to say you shouldn't "wear your kids" when they are toddlers and want to ride on your back or shoulders - every kid should do that but slings/carriers are not right for me and my family.

Although I like a ton, I can definitely put Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da up there as one of my faves
