THANK YOU to everyone who gave input on my Cash Out Frequency post! I was able to earn enough to cash out after a month in July. I decided to go ahead and do it instead of letting the money sit in my account (that definitely seems wiser  ).

Now it's time to repeat for August! Haha!

I've been following Vanessa Guillen's story for weeks while she was still missing. Her remains were found days ago and I have been thinking about that constantly. I think it's sad and disgusting what happened to her and what has happened to other women in the armed forces. She was sexually assaulted and murdered while serving this country. It is also crazy that they have pointed out as many as 4 people involved (in helping cover it up)! While searching for Vanessa they found the body of another missing soldier, Gergory Morales!

I've also read about the death of LaVena Johnson which looks to have been another sexual assault & murder cover up in Iraq 15 years ago. Not to mention the infamous case of the rape and murder of pregnant Maria Lauterbach by her fellow Marine 13 years ago in Camp Lejeune.

I've always heard stories about these things going on in the military but my god!  . I have so many questions about how things like this can happen in some of the most "secure" and "strictly regulated" places in the country.

TAP has had some really great offers lately! I did a few short surveys last week and qualified for longer focus groups. I completed a $50 coffee focus group on Wednesday and was just accepted to participate in a VR insight community!

There were cases of opportunists and looters taking advantage of the protests, but I've already provided links on a previous thread. I have also seen clear evidence that many police have, in fact, been antagonizing protesters, censoring media, and defacing property themselves. I've seen a few videos of children being pepper sprayed. It wouldn't be true to say cops are guilt free and just "doing their jobs."

There were protests in ALL 50 states. It's time to start opening our eyes to inequality in this country. People are tired of being treated unfairly and it's not hard to see why. People can explain it to you over and over and OVER, but they can't understand it for you.

Off-Topic / Summer Meal Ideas?

I am fairly new to cooking and only know how to cook a few meals, so far (i.e. chili, beef stew, lasagna, pan-fried fish). I am excited to expand my culinary skills, but I don't have any idea of what to cook. Thankfully, I'm not picky when it comes to food and I don't have any allergies.

What are some foods that you all recommend to cook during the summer?
