Off-Topic / Freelancing
« on: September 30, 2019, 08:33:19 am »Message ID: 1294850
I am in the process of becoming self-employed as a freelancer. Are there any other freelancers on this site? If so what advice do you have to offer me as I get started? I hope to be able to transition to more freelancing and less of my hourly job I have right now to pay the bills.

Off-Topic / Cat Adoption Event
« on: August 30, 2019, 11:07:01 pm »Message ID: 1290609
So last weekend a local animal rescue group held a cat adoption event in a used bookstore. I went with the intention of just petting/playing with the kittens and cats up for adoption. I'm not in the position to adopt a cat for various reasons, but i still enjoy seeing them. No remorse and I wasn't the only one who did that. Has anyone else gone to an event like this just to see the animals but not take them home?

Off-Topic / Opposite Schedules
« on: August 30, 2019, 11:00:53 pm »Message ID: 1290606
My boyfriend and I have been seeing each other for just over six months. But now we're trying to find time to spend together because he working during normal business hours and I get scheduled more often during the evenings and weekends. It's hard, but we're making it work I think. We just plan date nights around the days where I am not scheduled and try to come up with more flexible plans.

Does anyone else work opposite of their significant other? If so, how do you make it work?

Off-Topic / Survival Job
« on: August 30, 2019, 10:27:18 pm »Message ID: 1290590
I've had a difficult time job hunting over the past few months so I finally had to get a survival job at a deli in a grocery store so I can pay bills without going broke. When I'm not doing that, I'm trying to start up a freelance business and write/sell my own play scripts and writing.

Anybody else working a survival job right now? If so, how are you staying positive while working a job you really aren't passionate about?

Offers / Interesting Thing on PTC
« on: July 31, 2019, 09:03:18 pm »Message ID: 1286413
The other day I was completing PTC and on the history page I noticed that it did not list anyone who died on this this day. I've never encountered this before. Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me?

Off-Topic / Jigsaw Puzzles
« on: June 04, 2019, 10:35:30 am »Message ID: 1278458
Currently I am working on a 1,000 piece puzzle that is hundreds of different colored pencils and it isn't as difficult as I expected. My mom got me into solving them. Does anyone else here like putting together jigsaw puzzles? If so, what is the craziest or most difficult one you have done?

Off-Topic / Anybody a Playwright?
« on: May 20, 2019, 12:09:17 pm »Message ID: 1276103
Are any of my fellow FusionCash users playwrights? An interactive murder mystery comedy script I wrote is in rehearsal and will be open next month. And I'm also working on a full-length stage drama and have several ideas for other scripts bouncing around my head. If you are a playwright, what do you enjoy writing and have you had any of your work produced?

FusionCash / Survey Tip
« on: May 17, 2019, 01:05:00 pm »Message ID: 1275739
I learned a new technique for troubleshooting surveys recently. It started when I was taking a survey and had spent some time on it when the pop up window said that I had lost my connection and gave me an error message. At first I panicked that I had wasted my time, but then it occurred to me to copy the URL from the pop-up window and paste it into a new tab in my browser. It worked (though I had to re-answer the previous question again) and the survey credited. Something to keep in mind for the future.

Offers / Tap Research Credited!
« on: April 19, 2019, 08:17:14 pm »Message ID: 1271615
I haven't been visiting this offer as much lately because of issues with crediting and qualifying. But then I read a reply in one of the forums about how it was working again. So I thought what the heck, I'll try it again. And I qualified for a survey to rate music for local radio stations in my area. And it credited. I still probably won't spend too much time there, but I will go back to checking in every once in a while to see if I can get lucky again.

So anyone who hasn't been there for a while, pop in and try again.

FusionCash / A funny thing happened during PTC
« on: April 08, 2019, 09:05:21 pm »Message ID: 1270063
My favorite page on PTC is the Today in History page. I find it kinda fascinating, especially looking on days that have significant meaning for me. But today something interesting happened. The same person was listed twice on the list as being born today (his name escapes me). The funny part is that while the career and birthplace were the same on both listings, the movies listed that this actor had been in were different in each one. Has this happened to anyone else?

Off-Topic / My Family is Growing
« on: March 21, 2019, 09:41:07 pm »Message ID: 1267043
Recently my sister-in-law gave birth to her second child and I had the pleasure of meeting my second nephew. He's only a few weeks old and so very precious. I think I'm getting better handling and carrying for the little ones than I was with his older brother.

Does anyone else have new family members (especially of the newborn variety) that they simply adore?

Off-Topic / Kelly Catlin: an eye-opening tragedy

Recently this Olympic medal-winning cyclist succeeded in committing suicide. It just goes to show that anyone can be affected by depression and other mental illnesses, even those who seem to have success and fame. Please if you or anyone you know is feeling suicidal, I am begging you to get the help you need. The world is better with you in it.

Offers / A sudden credit
« on: February 06, 2019, 10:17:17 pm »Message ID: 1260617
I just looked at my account and found a credit for a video that I know I didn't complete today. It called it "Video: Join Flip50: Fitness. Wellness. For Less." While I vaguely remember trying to complete this offer, I was surprised when it credited today all of the sudden.

Did anyone else just get credit for this offer? Can you remember when this offer was on the video page?

Off-Topic / See Live Theater...for Free
« on: February 06, 2019, 10:11:49 pm »Message ID: 1260615
Did you guys know that you can probably see community theater stage productions in your local community for free?

A lot of community theater groups operate as nonprofits. Many, in exchange for some volunteering (running the box office, being an usher, working the concession stand or helping build sets), will provide you comp ticket(s) to the show. Check out their individual websites for more information, but a lot of them have ways to see shows for free.

I've taken advantage of this and have been able to see dozens of without having to pay with anything other than my time. If you love live theater, or know someone in the cast of the show, this is a great way to see them if you aren't ready to pay for the ticket.
