Do you squirm when you drive over long bridges? I do. If I could bypass these, I definitely would. Sometimes they shake and some look so old.

Off-Topic / "Spoofing" -- Beware!
« on: January 23, 2019, 05:04:53 pm »Message ID: 1258165
While I was at the store, I received a call from a gentleman who told me he was from Verizon Wireless and that I overpaid my phone bill and they were giving me a credit. He wanted to know how I wanted to receive my credit. I told him that I would call them later because I did not want to give any information over the telephone. When I get home, I called the Verizon Wireless number on the bill (this # is different from the one that called me).  The lady who answered said no one from VW called me today and that I was "spoofed". Scammers can get our numbers and pretend to be a company..they are trying to get info about us.

Some of you may have heard of this, but for those of us who haven't get your number added to the 'no soliciting' list.

Off-Topic / President Trump and Obama
« on: January 05, 2019, 05:08:16 pm »Message ID: 1255346
I believe the past two Presidents (Obama & Trump) has caused so many Americans to show their "true" self. When something is in the news about one of them, I can read some of the posts, and people are so cruel. I was saddened by someone, whom I called a friend for years, who made a post that was racist. Is this what we want for our kids and grandkids to hate and call people who are different than us names? We may not agree with a President (or a person that we have to interact/work with) but that's no reason to say hurtful things.

Just my little rant for the evening.

we hear this often. What is your favorite app? I'm not sure what mine would be. I have so many on my phone that I use often.

Off-Topic / Will you get the flu shot?

On the news, they are saying that this should be taken soon because people are getting the flu. I think I may get mine today. It takes a while to take effect.

Off-Topic / Before making a phone call, do you ever rehearse what you're going to say? Why?
« on: December 29, 2018, 03:05:32 am »Message ID: 1253826
If I had a phone interview, I would rehearse things that I would say. I do this because I want to make sure that what I say sounds ok. Also if I were mad at someone that I want to yell at, I would rehearse what I am saying in a sensible manner to be sure that I say what I need to say but still speak my mind.

I do. Some of these tax preparation places charge so much. In the past I have filed taxes for friends to save them money too.

Off-Topic / Re-Gifting....
« on: December 24, 2018, 04:16:49 pm »Message ID: 1253202
I have a Facebook friend who posted her office holiday gift. Someone gave her a figurine that you can put in your yard. It was in its original box, BUT the box was "yellowish" like it was sitting in the basement forever. Totally not cool. If I were this person, I would have bought chocolates instead. What do you think?

Off-Topic / What is the max that you would spend on a gift?
« on: December 24, 2018, 04:09:23 pm »Message ID: 1253199
If I buy something for a loved one, especially if I know they want a certain item, I would spend $100. Of course if it is a spouse it would be more, but for brothers/cousin, etc., I do not see going over $100.
