Off-Topic / Re: live without TV or music???? which one?????

TV, for the most part tv is crap and I would get rid of it besides sporting events and a few select shows.  Really I dont need it, my husband needs it, but I'm addicted since its around.  However a world without music is just sad.  Of course it depends on the music.  If it were all just country I'd say take my ears and let me live without both music and tv.

How many people use your computer at home?  Sometimes too many people using a computer can leave too many things open and accidently (or purposely) change things.

Debate & Discuss / Re: is this nation heading towards another civil war
« on: March 25, 2010, 07:53:20 pm »Message ID: 154256
I dont think there will be a civil war...the world will be destroyed before it could happen.  12/22/12  jk!

Honestly, IF anything happens it will be more of a revolution than a civil war.  It will be the poor versus the rich, not state alliance or federal government involvement.  Just a good ol' rising of the peasants.  There is no need for people to make what they make as CEOs and a lot of companies just rape people out of money (credit cards, healthcare and oil companies).  Seriously, did any of you really look into the last bailout bill before Bush left office - most of the companies that got money just exploited it.  Think about it!  I'm on the peasant side

kill my debt - all of it and pay off some of what my parents took out on student loans for me.  Then travel to Europe.  Save the rest

Nope unfortunately my husband's in the same boat.  He works in a kitchen and has 3 days off a week, so plenty of time to work another job but no one has good part-time jobs available.  He's about to try pizza delivery, but even that is overstaffed at some places.

Poor Wal-Mart  :-[  First the guy with the baseball bat to all the tvs in the electronics department, now a crazy employee/customer making a fool of themselves and being racist.  I personally wouldnt hold that against Wal-Mart as a whole, I don't shop there anyway, but that's because I can't stand the company.

Off-Topic / Re: Gym membership or work-out at home
« on: March 18, 2010, 04:45:24 pm »Message ID: 151323
Unfortunately gym membership - yes its more costly and you have to make yourself go out and workout, but I just don't get the same workout at home.  Gyms have professional machines that the average person cant keep in their home, even if you get one of the all-in-one home gyms.  I have like 4 Wii workout games including EA Sports and Wii Fit, but it just doesnt equal the intense workout I get at the gym.  Maybe once I get into better shape I can maintain my weight at home and save money, but for now I'll pay the monthly fee.  I'm proud to say I've lost 5 lbs in the last month.

I believe they are the same group that came into Bardstown, KY a couple years back to protest a funeral for a baby that died in a house fire.  I forget the details but they basically said the child didn't deserve a funeral and wasn't going to heaven.  A local DJ had them on the radio (an alternative rock radio station) and was asking them where they felt they got the right to judge people and damn their souls.  The representative for the group said they receive their messages from god, so the DJ said "You're telling me you have a direct contact with god, does he give you an actual message, because I want to see that message.  Is he on speed-dial or does he just send an email?"  Sure he was poking fun, but it was the best hour on the radio and best yet, he wasn't censored on the material at all, they let him poke fun at the group because everyone was so sad about the whole family that died in the fire.

On a personal note, it is those type of people who solidify my atheism.  If God were real, would he really let people slander his message in his name in that way?  Maybe he's just gotten lax in his latter years, because Old Testament God would have turned these people to salt or turned them to lepers.

Another thing, do people not realize being big doesn't necessarily equal unhealthy? Just like being skinny doesn't equal healthy.

Ok, you're right that skinny doesn't equal healthy, but big is unhealthy.  I dare you to go to a doctor and ask them if 250+lbs in women is healthy.  I'll say it (not so proudly, but oh well), I weigh 172lbs and my Wii board still says I'm overweight.
