Off-Topic / Re: eat out or cook

cook, definitely! my family goes out to eat at an actual sitdown restaurant about 5 times a year, birthdays and anniversarys. occasionally we'll order pizza or grab a burger from somewhere, but no more than twice a month. most of the time we have home-cooked family meals, especially dinner where all 4 of us (me, husband, and 2kids) can get into the kitchen and make something together :)

Off-Topic / Re: Netflix?

i have netflix (i'm actually streaming Black Dahlia right now) and i noticed that you either have to have a super new/fast computer or super fast internet. i used to have an old dell laptop and dial-up and could not watch anything on netflix but once i got my new laptop (gateway NV78) the streaming worked fine. of course, then i upgraded to high-speed and now i can stream a movie on one half of my screen and play farmville on the other without any skips or lagging :)

Off-Topic / Re: do you prefer the beach or the pool
« on: January 21, 2012, 11:50:42 pm »Message ID: 478739
i dont like the way the sand stick to everything so i prefer the pool, but only when its my own. that way i know how clean the water is and i control the chemicals that are in it and in what amounts. living in southern california, me and my kids spend pretty much everyday in june, july and august in or by our pool  :)

Off-Topic / Re: Name something that makes you smile

while my husband and son are capable of putting a smile on my face, lately it has been my daughter thats been making me smile the most. she'll be 3 next weekend and her lastest interests are ballet, singing, and tea parties. she is just so adorable that i can't help but smile as she spins around the kitchen in a tutu, singing twinkle twinkle little star, serving me "tea" from her play kitchen

Off-Topic / Re: Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood
« on: May 15, 2011, 11:10:01 pm »Message ID: 354261
i would choose carrie underwood, not only because she is a better singer and more my style but also because the chances are good that the crowds at her concert are going to be a little more mature than at a taylor swift concert. then again i am not really a concert person to begin with, have only been to one in my whole life, saw jethro tull in concert in 2000 and while i thought it was amazing, the crazy middle-aged stoners (like my dad who i took to the concert) were a little much. my 2nd concert will be seeing katy perry in august and while its not my kind of scene at all my sister was desperate for someone to go with her so i agreed

winter! i do not like hot weather at all! not exactly a good fit considering i live in southern california, but central air and a pool help me get from late spring to early fall. once the weather cools i am a much happier and more comfortable person

Off-Topic / Re: Could you live normally for a week without any electronics?
« on: May 15, 2011, 11:04:03 pm »Message ID: 354259
i'd survive but i'd probably go out of my mind. practically did at the end of last month when we were without tv/internet for 2 days. now i was busy packing and cleaning for our move so it didn't directly affect me. what drove me crazy was that my kids were bored out of their minds once i was too dark to play outside, and they could not have their normal routine of tv between bath and bedtime. luckily the move was completed and everything was set up at the new house the very first day so the kids have been out of my hair watching cartoons while i have been cleaning and unpacking here. and for myself its nice to have internet (and some free time) to unwind at night

Off-Topic / Re: how many of us would further our education if you could
« on: May 15, 2011, 10:59:44 pm »Message ID: 354258
i wouldn't. i do not need an added expense, especially for something that is just going to take me away from the most important thing in life, my family. furthermore, the main purpose of furthering an education would be to enhace or improve your career but the only "work" i do is stay-at-home mom and there's no college for that

Off-Topic / Re: what you eat for Breakfast?
« on: May 15, 2011, 10:57:31 pm »Message ID: 354257
i know its bad but i did not have breakfast this morning. i've never really been a breakfast person to begin with but i know it is unhealthy to skip it so i try really hard to eat something every morning, within an hour of waking up. but today i lounged around in bed because it was raining and by the time i made it to the kitchen all i wanted to eat was a turkey and avocado sandwich so technically i skipped breakfast and went straight to lunch

Off-Topic / Re: wha was your favorite class in school and teacher
« on: May 15, 2011, 10:55:07 pm »Message ID: 354256
i always like my math classes best. there's just something about numbers and math that i like, there's very little cause to work with others, just sit quietly and solve all those little equations on the paper and it just made sense to me. thats also why my other favorite classes were my acocunting electives :)
