I use Firefox.  I'm actually surprised there were so few IE responses since I think they still have like 80% of the market.

Debate & Discuss / Re: Austerity measures in Europe

I'm thinking Italy and the UK are next.    Anyone here listen to Gerald celente - he has some interesting thoughts on what is coming.

What do you think of the austerity measures they are taking in Europe.   I'm seeing protests begin to develop .. do you think they will spread to the US?

Yeah, that's a good point.   They would never want to give up that source of revenue but yeah they'd probably call it something else .. or maybe people won't notice.  Like they don't notice that their banks are paying them .1% and raising their interest rates.

If the govt stops paying they'd have to stop collecting, no?

Debate & Discuss / Re: Legalize Marijuana?
« on: October 02, 2010, 08:49:50 pm »Message ID: 247889
Many people are talking about the benefits to the economy if it were legalized.  But is this something that you reallly want to smell as you walk outside in front of your house or have your kids around?   I guess there would need to be some limitations on where it can be used, perhaps?

It should be legalized.  It'd do wonders for our economy.  We could put a large tax on it and mint money.  Also gang violence would decrease because marjuana would be legal.  It's a total win-win.  the only bad thing is the health risk it poses, but cigarettes and alcohol are bad for you  too and they're legal.

Debate & Discuss / Re: Doctor Assisted Suicide, Anyone?????
« on: September 30, 2010, 01:26:39 am »Message ID: 245459
People should have the right to choose, I think.  Especially if they're in pain or terminally ill.

I think it is a great idea, but there would have to be laws that govern it so it doesn't get out of control. If a person is of sound mind and body, and they can clearly make the decision to do it, to not live in pain or be on numerous amounts of pain meds or the rest of their lives, or for whatever reason(it has to be a legit medical reason, ie terminal illness, unbearable pain, a diagnosable ailment, not just those who want to commit suicide because they "just can't take it anymore" )........ I say go for it!

Debate & Discuss / Re: Quiz Life Stress Test
« on: September 30, 2010, 01:25:24 am »Message ID: 245458
Good quiz.  scary results.

Many experiences in life are stressful, some more than others. The following quiz, based on the Life Stress Inventory, also known as the Holmes and Rahe test, rates the stressful experiences you've had over the past year, and calculates your risk of developing a stress-related illness. This comprehensive quiz may take up to five minutes to complete. Answer each question honestly, based on what is currently happening in your life, or what happened over the past year.
