Carpet is cheaper but wood is prettier. I totally agree that wood is cleaner for the most part. You spill anything on carpet and it's so hard to get out. But if you have a cold winter carpet is better.

I just would buy a nice house and a working car and nothing too crazy. Maybe travel more.
