Off-Topic / Re: What are some things you spend money on?

Well now that Spring is here I have been trolling the yard sales and bazaars for things to use as planters. I just love to garden and there are so many things you can make into planters. You know what they say...one mans junk is anothers treasure ;) Works for me. Shopping and gardening are like therapy for me.

Most poetry is so beautiful. I used to write poetry but then found I prefer to read it instead. Haiku I tried to write and just could not get it, though many of it is pretty. And yes you can say what's in your heart....sometimes without even knowing you are doing it.

Offers / Re: FC Surveys Not Actually What They Say They Are???

Being re routed to surveys other than what you screened for and such has been happening a lot lately on FC and do hope they go back to their old way of doing things. Wasting time on a survey you know you will DQ for is a waste of time.

Offers / Re: gun ban....for or against
« on: April 21, 2013, 03:05:59 pm »Message ID: 724249
If you look at the statistics in Texas, where just about everyone owns a gun by choice, you just don't see the crime there like you do in other places.  If you are 'bad', you don't follow the rules.  Is the 'bad' person going to try using a gun on a group of people he knows also have guns and are willing to use them for protection?  No way....they'll go to that nice place where all the 'good' people are against guns and violence and take them for a ride.  Once our gun privileges are taken away, we will all be sitting ducks for all the 'bad' people who do not follow the rules.  Please know that all societies that give up their way of protecting themselves will lose all rights in very short time...they'll have no choice.

Again so true. Most of these horrific events happen in places where the assailant knows the people are not carrying or places where people are not allowed to carry. But let it be someplace where the law is on the gun owners side and the cowards seem in my own opinion to think twice. A prime example of that for those who remember the Luby's restaurant tragedy (sorry if it brings up some bad feelings :-[ ) in Texas. Imagine what would have happened if people had been allowed to carry into the restaurant. And because of that some laws in Texas changed. It took a tragedy to bring about change in that sense  :angry7:

Off-Topic / Re: What part of illegal am I not understanding?
« on: April 21, 2013, 02:48:44 pm »Message ID: 724237
I was listening to the radio last week and heard about a bill to give illegal immigrants a valid state driver's license without questioning their residencey.  They could state that they weren't redients of the United States and get a license. Seriously?!? I am also curious as to why 'illegals' are given in state tuition instead of a ride back to their country of origin? Why are illegals allowed to go to our public schools? We are paying the taxes for the roads that people drive on and the schools that our kids go to...not a cent comes from people who are here illegally. Leave no child behind? Why don't we take care of the kids that are here legally first.

Oh so true. Life is becoming easier for the illegals it seems but harder on folks born and raised here. It's not right and it's not fair. No one pays for my housing or my daughters schooling but my husband and I. We have no one giving us anything. We work and pay our taxes which seem to support every one else. Perhaps we should move out of the country and come back as illegals.  :dontknow:

When I look out I see my neighbors house, my backyard, a tree starting to open and a beautiful view of the town I sit high above. Oh and lots of mountains :) :D

Off-Topic / Re: how to make your ex comes back
« on: April 21, 2013, 02:08:40 pm »Message ID: 724208
One does not make an ex come back. If it works out and a couple are back together that's one thing. But one should never try to make someone come back. That could make them run further. If they're free and they return than it was meant to be. If they don't than it may have never meant to be. In other words if you love someone set them free....yada yada yada.

TOO MANY FALSE STORIES OUT THERE, HOW ARE WE TO KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG?

This is true. However that's where one has got to be honest and go with what they know MAY be the truth no matter how bad it may be. It takes a strong person to face a horrible truth. For instance...most do not want to believe that Osama Bin Laden was trained by us. But fact of the matter is, he was. Now if one accepts that truth one then has to ultimately face up to the fact that we...our gov't may have been the ones to indirectly create the proverbial monster. Also, it seems that one has to face the fact that our gov't (maybe sometimes with the best intention) will cause a crises and it go horribly wrong. The best one can do is believe what's what for themselves and not listen to other people. The biggest thing to remember though is NOT EVERYTHING MAY BE WHAT IT SEEMS....that includes our gov't.

One can never tell. Just hope and pray. Most of the time where we are they anticipate it to be bad then it's not. Then when they say it's not going to be bad it is....so who really knows? I've just gotten to the point of never believing the ground hog and preparing for the worst. :dontknow:

I love chicken and beef. Both are so versatile for recipes. Each have their own distinct taste. Both can be marinated or seasoned. Yummy....and can be made to look good too.

I've started some of my plants here indoors just waiting for the nice weather to plant outside. So looking forward to cleaning up the yard from the debris thrown around during the winter. Can't wait to decorate the yard as well with lights and cute little adornments.

Let's see....when I'm bored I either go online and play games, do surveys, read, puzzles (sodoku), or needlepoint. I seem to always find something to do, though it does not happen often since I have a husband, tween daughter, church activities, house work...work and so on.

Off-Topic / Re: Have you ever been stung by a bee?
« on: March 24, 2013, 02:06:01 pm »Message ID: 709312
Yep! For the very first time about 3 yrs ago. I still remember the pain like it was yesterday. Walking along minding my own business. Hands down at my side. The bee which I did not see at first must have thought I was a threat, because he stung the hell out of my finger. It swelled for 3 weeks and felt like hell. There was no stinger in it but just the same. Now I hate bees!!!! :angry7:
