Off-Topic / Re: If People Did Not Have Jesus Christ In Their Lives

People who put the Bible in the same category as mythology do not understand that the Bible is the Word of God.

People who make such a claim provide no evidence to support it and instead, rely wholly upon blind faith.

Are you saying that it doesn't take faith to believe in what you believe? How do you know that your faith is not blind faith in that you can't see the "picture" from the angle I see it? It is not blind faith; rather it is experiential faith. If you would experience the changes of life that I and many others have experienced through reading the Bible, you also would understand that it is not blind faith.

For those of you who believe in the evolution of animals, doesn't it take more faith to believe that everything could "just happen" then to believe that there is Someone Who is in charge of everything and powerful enough to create everything that exists?

Since it says "egg" and not "chicken egg". It is obvious the egg came first since many other animals have used eggs to reproduce long before chickens were around.

How can that be? God created birds and fish before he created the other animals. It doesn't make sense that there would be other animals laying eggs before that.

Have you ever looked for a Bible in the library? It's on the same shelf as mythology. Christianity is simply another form of mythology.

People who put the Bible in the same category as mythology do not understand that the Bible is the Word of God. They don't understand that reading what is in the Bible and putting it to practice will totally change the life. To be like Jesus is my goal and reading the Bible teaches me how to do it. You should try reading the Bible, especially the gospel of John. Don't read it to try to find something wrong with the Bible but read it with an open mind and you will be amazed at what you read. If you put to practice what you read in the Bible, you will be so much happier and actually have a real purpose for living.

Have you ever heard of the tower of Babel? People used to all speak the same language and it caused bad problems. If you are not familiar with the story, you can read it in the Bible.

I thought the tower of Babel thing was punishment for the hubris of man because we attempted to build a tower to heaven. So God punished us by making so that different people couldn't understand each other, and THAT led to problems.

That's partly true. The people built the tower of Babel to make a name for themselves. (Read Genesis 11) I believe they were rebelling against God by building this tower. They were making the tower and city to glorify themselves. Perhaps they were distrusting what God had said about there never being another world-wide flood so they wanted to be above whatever the flood level would be. God knew that if they were allowed to continue, the world would very soon become just like it was before the flood. People spoke the same language and their rebellion against God was very strong because they could all communicate together. So God mixed up the languages to try to stop or at least greatly slow down the rebellion. The mixing up of languages was not primarily punishment for building the tower, but rather an attempt to break up the rebellion.

Why are so many of the decorations for Halloween simply frightful and evil-looking? Is Halloween an evil holiday? I believe it has Satanic origins. What do you believe?

I believe God created the chicken first. Just as God created the first people as fully grown humans, so he created the chicken as fully grown, capable of laying eggs.

Arsenic is an essential element. The problem is when the levels are too high, then poisoning results. Is there arsenic in apple juice?

Our troops are not overseas because they are to have fun. Much of their purpose is to help others discover freedom and to protect our own. As much as we miss them, it is one of the costs of freedom. Let us not underestimate that.
