It's not April Fools Day so I assume you're serious...

Watch out, guys! Flying cars coming through! ZOOM  ;D

Better follow the speed limit and use turn signals up there  ;)

You should have included a link!  Actually never mind, maybe it's better if everyone searches up the news themselves.

They'll be going down to $40K soon - technology always experiences a steady decrease in price over time - assuming there is any consistent demand for them.  If they are a rarely purchased luxury item they'll stay at $400K - would you prefer a Lamborghini or a flying Lamborghini?  ;)

I'm trying to get an emoji of a plane in here but the closest I can get is  :turkey:

I don't really want a flying car.  Cruising on the ground is enough fun for me.

Until next time,
 :peace:  & flying cars

Wish I could share internet with a neighbor and pay half of the internet bill.  Wifi goes right through the walls, so if you know the password you can easily connect to your neighbor's internet.

I used to have internet with Verizon and lost it maybe 5 times over the course of 10-15 years.  I just switched to Spectrum (Time Warner Cable) about a year ago and so far I have never lost service.

The longest blackout I ever experienced was two weeks! It was crazy. Made you wonder if the power was ever coming back on.  We had no generator, so we living without milk, butter, and other refrigerated foods.  Also no air conditioners or fans, but it wasn't that hot so we didn't really miss them.  Good thing this was before I joined Fusion Cash, otherwise I would have been fretting the whole time about how many daily cash emails and paid to clicks I was missing ;)

One more thing I have to say on the subject of bullies and enemies.  When people are saying things that you don't want to hear, most people recommend to cover your ears and say LA LA LA LA LA LA I can't hear you  -  but I have an even better solution.  I use it all the time when my parents are arguing in the other room, the same old stupid argument that I really do not want to overhear.

Choose a song that calms you down, or empowers you, and whenever people are saying things that you don't want to listen to, start singing it.  You can also create a chant to use at these times.  Not only are you drowning out the sound of their annoying voices, you are giving yourself something positive to think about instead.

Think about those bullies... imagine that instead of teasing you they are saying motivational quotes.  For every bad word they use against you, think of a statement that means the opposite, and every time they say that word, think about that positive statement.

(continuing from my other post)

My strategy worked so well that the boys in middle school actually respected me by the end of the year.  At the time I could not understand why.  Looking back on it I can see that I had a lot of self-control and I guess they were impressed.

I have to say one more thing about the boy who was the biggest bully.  One day he hid my sweater in a place where he knew I wouldn't find it.  I walked through the classroom closet looking for it and of course I didn't find it.  So I sat down at my desk making a sad face, thinking about how I have to tell my mom that I lost my sweater now.  And this is right after she told me not to loose any more stuff.  Suddenly the boy gets up and takes my sweater out from the box he hid it in, puts it on my desk, and gives me this look, an amazed look, like "You are an angel, I've tested you and determined that you are an angel".  I guess he expected me to angrily ask him to give my sweater back, but instead I calmly accepted my loss.  So you can think to yourself, if it helps, that bullies are just testing you.

Much later, in college, I hung out with this other boy.  He loved to joke around and ask the most random questions.  One day he asked me "Why are you an angel?" I shrugged and said "Because you're a devil?"  He thought that was a very cool answer.  So a final piece of advice: when you see people behaving like devils, act like an angel.  You'll stand out in the hellish environment and everyone will know that you're going to heaven.

So in middle school this one boy used to tease all the girls and do all sorts of mean things to them.  He teased me even more than the others because I did not assert myself or fight back.  The grossest thing he did was to launch small objects, tiny legos or erasers, into the air, I can't remember if he was throwing them or using a slingshot, and try to strike girls in their private area.  When the small object landed on my lap, I picked it up and was like "Hmm, what is this?"  All the boys laughed but I was long past giving a damn about whether or not people were laughing at me; they had been laughing at me for two years already so at the time this happened I wasn't even angry, I really did not care.

My advice for dealing with bullies: Close your ears. Close your heart. And try your absolute hardest not to care. Not even a little bit. This worked for me because I am very patient; I knew that eventually the bullies would go tease someone else and someday I would graduate middle school and never see them again.

Debate & Discuss / Language debate

A great debate borrowed from the Swag Bucks daily poll:

Princeton University announced their choice to use a series of gender-neutral terms aimed at removing the word “man” and other 'male-leaning language' from official school material. Examples range from the changing of 'mankind' to 'humanity' and 'freshmen' will now be referred to as 'first-year students'. Do you think other universities should follow suit?

I respect their decision but I don't necessarily think other universities should follow suit.
One professor asked us, "What should I write? Freshmen/freshwomen, freshpeople?" The class was like, LOL, freshmen is fine.

"Welcome freshpeople!"

Alien races who are much more advanced than we are use gender-neutral language to refer to humans: "Greetings, Earthlings…”   Would you ever address a group of humans that way?  Maybe while you’re wearing an alien costume ;)

If you have any interesting stories about gendered language, please post them.  I would like to know if word choice has ever had a real impact on someone’s life.

Years ago, a FC user named noirlupe posted this - it's mildly funny.

[REPOST]

I have a friend that always seems to know when I need a good laugh,  thought I would share.
A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.

'Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday.'

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral..

The frog says, 'Sure. I have this,' and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, 'There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral.'

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. 'I mean, what in the world is this?'

The bank manager looks back at her and says...

'It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan, His old man's a Rolling Stone.'

"Sometimes I wonder if somebody found an envelope stuffed with cash and they decided to keep that if they would report it to the government as income lol"
LOL if you robbed a bank and got thousands of dollars in one day would you report that as income too?

True story: my mom found a $50 bill on the sidewalk.  Picked it up.  Spent it on groceries the next day.
Another true story: my dad found a money clip with $150 dollars in it on the sidewalk.  He said that some drunk person must have dropped it on Saturday night, and that's why it was on the sidewalk Sunday morning.  Paid two utility bills with that windfall.
The most money I ever found on the ground was only $1.00!

Let's say you found a wallet or a gold ring with a value of more than $600.  Do you tell the government about it? "The sidewalk gave it to me"?  Is it subject to the gift tax?  ;)

LOL no replies - I empathize with you on that feeling.  But here's my post, so now you have at least one answer to your question! ;)

September is my birth month!  For a long time I really liked September and the other Fall months.  Nice weather, school starting again (I always liked school), fun to see the leaves changing color.  But now the 12 months of the year are all the same to me, because college is year-round:

January: stay indoors and rest.  Most students are burnt out after the fall semester.
February: get into gear for the spring semester
March, April, May: continue grinding away at homework and projects
Late May and early June: look for internships / part-time jobs
June, July, August: do those internships/jobs, try to hang out with friends a few times a month
September: get into gear for the fall semester.  This is the worst month in some ways - it's so tempting to slack off and procrastinate.  Depending on how hard your courses are, that could really come back to bite you in later months.
October, November, December: grind away at homework and projects.  Why does the fall semester always seem harder than the spring semester?

Debate & Discuss / Biggest debate of all time
« on: March 03, 2018, 03:21:03 pm »Message ID: 1201353
Do you want to know how to get a group of people all riled up, really quickly?

It's simple: ask them which one is better Star Wars or Star Trek  ;) 8)

And if all of them agree on that (which might happen in a like-minded crowd), ask them which sci-fi or fantasy novel (or book series) is the best.  They will definitely disagree on that.

I have great respect for The Lord of the Rings, which I think a lot of people will choose as the best fantasy book series ever written.  But I have to say that The Chronicles of Narnia is the best.  I love The Horse and His Boy (third book in the series), read it five times.  The Silver Chair (sixth book in the series) is also really good.  The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (first book) is a classic.  The author, C. S. Lewis, is very famous and has written many other great books besides this series.

Other Candidates for Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Book(s) of All Time
Harry Potter (so popular, but I found this series boring)
2001: A Space Odyssey (if you haven't read this, please do. it's really good)
The Martian (should be at your local library by now; it's in mine)
A Song of Ice and Fire
Outlander
The Earthsea Cycle (I <3 Ursula LeGuin)
The King in The Window (the perfect fantasy book for children)
A Wrinkle in Time
Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
Malazan Books of the Fallen
Guardians of Ga'Hoole (the perfect fantasy book series for children)

Debate & Discuss / Re: How much do you spend at the grocery store?
« on: March 03, 2018, 12:54:30 pm »Message ID: 1201318
Wow so many people spend $100 when they go to the grocery store.  My family of 3 spends about $400 a month, or about $100 a week.  We try to get all the shopping done in one trip to save on gas.  Sales and coupons don't save you as much as you think they will.  The best coupon we ever got was $8 off a purchase of $40 or more at Stop and Shop for using online coupons for the first time.  I doubt we'll ever get a deal like that again.  It's 20% off, which is normal for Bed Bath and Beyond and maybe for electronics stores, but for food, 20% off is incredible.

Costco and BJs also don't help as much as you would think.  Sure, you can save on the unit price of an item, but you still have to spend a lot because you're buying it in bulk.  On many items the unit price is about the same or higher than at other stores.  Exception: BJs has the cheapest milk around.  When you buy many gallons of something every year, every penny counts.

I like how Fusion Cash sends checks or pays by Paypal.  Easy to use what you earned to buy food.  With other sites that only pay through gift cards, it's harder.  Has anyone ever bought food from Amazon?  I am getting a gift card for Amazon today and I want to buy oatmeal, chia seeds, and other shelf-stable items.  Are Amazon food prices better or worse than what grocery stores charge?

Off-Topic / Re: Has anynone not gotten paid for Jan "Paid to Post"?
« on: March 03, 2018, 11:52:55 am »Message ID: 1201297
In early Feb. I requested a paid to post bonus for Jan. and the request was denied.  I tried to figure out what went wrong - I had more than 30 posts.  Were the posts too short?  Were some of them submitted too late on Jan 31st, causing them to count for Feb.? (I don't know about you, but FC's time zone is way off from the time zone where I live.)  I tried again, it still didn't work, I was very upset and felt that I had been cheated out of three dollars.

In the middle of Feb. I requested a paid to post bonus for January and for February.  Both requests went through without a problem. Today, March 1st, both bonuses came in - biggest jump in my balance since the $5 sign up bonus I got when I joined.  I'm very happy about this and looking forward to earning forum posting bonuses for every month of 2018.  There is a limit of 9 posts a day (for me - idk if all members have this limit), but I can still get 30 posts done in four days.

Here's to typing away all month long, everybody - don't let your hands get too tired!  And try to keep good posture when sitting at your desk - I know it's hard, but it makes a big difference in your health.

OMG yes happiness is a great topic to discuss :) ;) :D ;D 8) :glasses-nerdy:  :in-love: :angel11: :highfive:
Plenty of happy emoji to use here at FC and in other forums as well.  Perfect for showing others exactly how happy you are, when words just aren't enough.

Everyone can list the things that make them happy.  Here's my list:
Hugs & kisses
Chocolate ice cream
Coffee
Motivational/Inspirational Quotations - always keep a handy list of these on my desk
Sci-fi and Fantasy books (some historical fiction and nonfiction books are really good too)
Days off from school - now that my commute is longer, I appreciate staying home a lot more
Getting homework done early (insert little boy with fist meme here)
Memes - reading/viewing and writing/drawing
Poetry - reading and writing
Doodling - keeps me calm in the classroom.  I wish I'd started doodling sooner; I used to be so stressed out.
Singing/listening to music
Dancing - best form of exercise.  More exciting than yoga, easier than lifting weights or running.

If any of you don't read or create memes, you're missing out on a lot of laughs.  Memes are responsible for 80% of my happiness.  Go to knowyourmeme.com if you need an explanation of what memes mean and where they come from.  Anyone can create a meme, so if you think of a good joke, go ahead and post it on social media!

I understand that some memes aren't that funny, I guess they can be called memes for memes' sake, but I promise you that there are a lot of great ones out there!  Think of a meme as a supercharged emoji.  If you like and use emoji, you'll like and use memes.

Thanks for starting this thread snuggleycutejc.  I am having a great day, despite my other money sites malfunctioning.  So grateful for Fusion Cash, lots of money and never a technical issue (not yet anyway).
