Off-Topic / Re: For or against abortion?
« on: January 24, 2011, 08:39:58 pm »Message ID: 303674
I am against abortion because it is unjust to kill a unborn child; however, when it comes to a rape situation, i believe the victim might should have a choice.

I am against abortion too. I think it is almost like murdering someone. If people aren't responsible enough...they shouldn't have sex without protection. what do you think?
Pregnancy doesn't always happen because people are irresponsible. Pregnancy can happen because contraceptives fail, or it can happen because of rape. A woman shouldn't be forced to go through 9 months of pregnancy just because she has bad luck.

Stress that the only way to make sure a boy is worth it is to make him wait for it. Wait a long time.

My opinion: A woman looses the right to her body when she lies down with a man.

That is one of the most sexist things I have ever read in my life.  A woman never loses the right to her body.  That is a rape condoning statement, IMO.  If a woman is naked and changes her mind before or even during sex, she has every right to say no.

During pregnancy, a woman's body takes a beating like no man will ever be able to understand.  The mortality rates from pregnancy are higher than from abortion.  http://www.thelizlibrary.org/liz/004.htm

GOD makes the baby and it's hearts starts beating at 10 days. When we kill babies we are playing GOD and we wonder why this country is dying? All this can be proven if anyone is smart enough to check it out.

Of course the heart starts beating, and an embryo begins to change and evolve.  However, while this is occurring, things sometimes happen.  That is why at 20 weeks gestation, women have full anatomy ultrasounds that last nearly an hour to make sure that everything is developing as it should.

If you want to leave it cut and dry like that, the same thing happens with animals.  Do you eat hamburgers?  That was also once a baby.

They should go to Right to Life Corporate office. They have done extensive research and are glad to make it available.

How about the Planned Parenthood offices?  How about ChoiceUSA or the Feminist Majority?  Catholics for a Free Choice?  There are many many groups out there that are more interested in educating rather than fear mongering.

Which brings me to your next statement...

I use to be pro-abortion until one day I was listening to my radio. They announced that Germany had come up with a new drug that effected the brain and needed infant brains to test it on. American doctors took 36 preme infants, cut their heads off at birth and put the heads on ice to keep them alive. Sent them to Germany. I got sick and began to do my own research. Discovered they used infacts to make lamp shades, soap, etc. The abortion mills make lots of money harvesting the organs & other parts of the infacts {that some say are not yet human?} Abortion is a money machine using the most innocent in our society. What if your mother had aborted you?

Fear mongering at its worst.

Oh, and the term is Pro-Choice, not Pro-Abortion.  That would be like me calling you anti-choice, although from your statements here, that title may not be too far off.
Thank you.

They're both kind of equally bad for you, it just depends on how much you do it and how you do it.

Off-Topic / Re: How do you know if you're gay or bi-sexual or neither?
« on: January 23, 2011, 06:28:50 am »Message ID: 302748
Anyone is entitled to thier own opinions. This world didnt get to have so many people in it cause God created people gay. I think it's a total choice. I guess it depends on how you have been raised and taught. I was brought up in a Christian home and was raised to believe that gays or lesbians were choosing to be that way. Personally I think it's gross. Especially when they want to have children. Its obviously unatural for 2 woman or 2 men to have a baby when they have to go outside for help and cant do it themselves.
It would be fine if you had a point that made sense, but that doesn't. : If God created all the people, he could easily have created some gay and most straight and there would still be plenty of people. That just doesn't make any sense at all.
Some straight couples have to go for outside help to get children. Is that gross as well?

Well, you'd kind of just know which gender you were sexually attracted to after a while.

@mrstina08: There is tons of scientific evidence that supports that gays and lesbians are born gays and lesbians and do not choose to be. Unless they can choose what shape to make their brain and unless dolphins and other animals also just "choose" to be gay, ignoring their instincts... You know.

And why would anyone choose to be gay? By that logic, every day people all over the world are choosing to be persecuted. Makes sense why they would choose to like something that could cause a police officer to shove a gun in their anus and shoot them. (happens in some countries if they find out you're gay)

I mean really, can you "choose" to like something? I can't decide I like pickles and like them. I just don't like pickles.

@MattyMatt: Seriously, she disagrees with whatever anyone says. Not worth bothering. She made it clear that she doesn't understand what evolution means, but she insists that it's not real. And she poked fun at other people's beliefs after whining about how Christians always get attacked on here and they're SO persecuted. You can find a better way to spend your time.

Ya know......you have popped in and out of this thread, and haven't really said anything substantial, but to throw out barbs or what have you.  It's really immature and childish.

I have said something substantial. You responded without understanding what I had posted and then when I responded your response was something along the lines of "You didn't read what I said!" When I certainly did, and you just made me convinced that you didn't read what I said. You clearly had no idea what you were talking about but still insisted on writing an ESSAY about how I was wrong. If anything is immature, it's that. And that is why I didn't even bother with it.

Uh, if the above is an "ESSAY", then essays have certainly changed since I've been back to school.  However....news flash, this is a public forum where things are posted.  I don't know what you think you are gaining by this hissy fit your throwing, but you have (in this thread) accused me of deleting my posts, when in actuality I only deleted one, because I made a mistake posting to another person in error and was correcting it. You come in every 10 or so posts to flame me to someone I'm talking to or to say something negative about me, and I have no idea why. Get over yourself and move on.  You are acting immature.  Now, get rid of the resentment over whatever you thought I did.  Grow up.

You didn't bother with it?  Uh, then why are you posting to me and others about me then?  Get over it and move on.  Whatever substantial thing you wrote that you think I didn't read is not the end of the world.  I post to a lot of people in here and I might miss something.  However, I went back and read through this thread and I issued an apology to you for an error.  Really, let it drop or grow up, preferably both.

How is what I'm doing throwing a hissyfit exactly? I haven't flamed you once. I was irritated that you deleted the post because it was quoting myself if you didn't notice, and I don't even care about it now. Nothing I've said has been flaming or throwing a hissyfit. It's not that you didn't read or understand my post, it's that you decided to respond with another two walls of text without reading or understanding it, and now you're apparently doing the same thing to someone else.

Honestly, I feel like you're not reading what you yourself type. You keep stressing that these people are the "GREATEST SCIENTIFIC MINDS" like you don't even realize that that is 100% opinion, but then you nitpick someone else for saying "true historians."

I have no idea! I don't know why they would have a friends list on forums like these. I guess maybe if you send a message they'll have an option to look at your friends list so you don't have to type in a name?
