Off-Topic / Re: Young SINGLE MOMS...

I see too many disgusting girls at my school getting pregnant.
If you use the words, "It's my baby and I'll do what I want with it," you should not be having a baby.
If you don't have the income to raise a child or means to get that income you should not be having a baby. You are setting yourself and the baby up for a harder life than you both should have.

I started at 12 and went up to 2 packs a day, but on July 4th 2004 I pitched them in the trash and have never regretted it. Unfortunately I had a younger sister and brother who couldn't quit and now they are both dead from smoking. My brother at 58 from lung cancer and my sister at 65 from COPD. I am still going strong at 71.
That's terrible; I'm sorry for your loss.

Off-Topic / Re: Your Opinion on the HEALTH CARE
« on: August 29, 2009, 08:56:53 am »Message ID: 84657
White I agree with this "You should really do a bit more reading on the subject if your only thought on the entire issue is "GOVERNMENT = NO FREEDOM.  IF WE HAVE A GOVERNMENT RUN OPTION WE'LL TURN IN TO THE USSR UNDER STALIN!"" I really think that government run healthcare is not a good solution at all.

Even if the current system is broken, government healthcare is not a good solution.
Some of us have been going to the same doctors for our whole lives and we may not be able to stay with them under government healthcare.
Taxes will go up up up.
We'll al be on a waiting list to go to the doctor's.

We can repair the system without making the whole thing government run.
If there was a government run healthcare OPTION, as suggested above, that would be good.

Don't worry, there was just a lot of confusion, he should still be making money off of the program that everyone thought was "crashing and burning." It's just going private.
He'll probably keep earning that much.

I'm 17 but people think I'm 12 sometimes. My boyfriend (who is 16) has been asked "Isn't she a little young for you?" before. It's really funny because I'm the one who is older.

I'm 17 and I got my first couple of grey hairs a few months ago, so I started coloring my hair. ._.
Everyone on my dad's side of the family went grey in high school but I hoped it wouldn't happen to me.

I like short, but long is a lot less maintenance.
Did you get mixed up? o_o
Long hair is definitely way more maintainance.

I have long, dark brown hair.

Off-Topic / Re: Have you ever seen a ghost?
« on: August 25, 2009, 09:43:33 am »Message ID: 83257
When I was younger we would run around playing in my backyard, and my oldest friend would say to me very often that she saw a boy in a red jacket watching us, but then he would run away. At first I became very paranoid, but then, since I never saw a boy in a red jacket, I stopped believing her. One day, when I was back there by myself, I saw a flash of red out of the corner of my eye. When I turned and looked, there was nothing red to be found. A few months later, when I had forgotten about it, I was walking through the woods alone and I saw something huge and red fly right by me, right in front of me, so fast I could barely see it, I just saw the red. I looked all around and didn't see anything red, and then I ran back to my house because I was scared out of my mind. A couple of weeks later my cousin's friend told me they had seen the same red flash, before I even told them about it. Since then I've gone back there many times but the only red thing I've seen is the occasional Cardinal. (Type of bird.) I really believe that this was a ghost.

Off-Topic / Re: Gay Marriage
« on: August 25, 2009, 08:54:15 am »Message ID: 83241
I'm for gays and lesbians having the right to marry, I think it is positively ridiculous that they can't in most parts of the US. Whether it is against your religion or not, this is supposed to be a free country, with freedom of religion. We all aren't Christians. Buddhists celebrate gay marriages, so not allowing them to be married is infringing their freedom of religion. It is extremely obvious that they should be able to be married.
(Read: MARRIAGE IS NOT JUST A CHRISTIAN THING.)

Gays don't hurt anyone just being gay. Give one example where they have.

Off-Topic / Re: what are you? modern or conservative when it comes about sex?
« on: August 25, 2009, 08:45:52 am »Message ID: 83239
I believe that people should only have sex after marriage, this is the proper way. A relationship is never guaranteed unless someone marries. In a way it's kinda slutty before marriage. I totally disagree with it and believe that if someone isn't married they have no right to have sex as the Bible says. If people were to follow this the world would be a cleaner place and have more morals also. Back in the past there were family values, no divorce. :)

Do you truley believe that if people did not have sex before marriage that there would be no divorce.  That seems truley unrealistic to me.  I do not have a problem with sex before marriage.  At least you know if you and the other person are compatible sexually.  Wow imagine what the divorce rate would be....  I can see it now top reason for divorce sexual incompatibility due to no sex before marriage.

Seriously, sex before marriage is not the worlds problem, we have way bigger things than that messing up the world!
I agree, that is extremely unrealistic. Also, people had marriage problems back then, the reason they didn't divorce near as often was because divorce was viewed as socially unacceptable.

Off-Topic / Re: How do you feel about alternative fashion?

japanese street fashion is awesome!
do you have the FRUiTS books? i can look
at them for hours...

i've always done my own thing with fashion,
and i always tend to get compliments. i've never
really tried to make a "statement" ... i just really
can't stand spending money on plain clothes.

sometimes i'll get those looks -- i'm sure you know
the ones. but mostly, they're from females my age
who are way too insecure for originality. and that's
totally okay, because we don't wear it for them

i used to be a walking rainbow "candy kid" if you will,
but i've toned it down over the years. i'm really into vintage,
victorian, artsy things now, with a smidgen of bohemian thrown in.
i think my personality has always shown through my wardrobe.
its just a fun way to express yourself...

i'm with you, JessieKateRose! i'm drawn to that lolita
look as well  :D

No, I don't have any of the FRUiTS magazines. I have the first four English Gothic & Lolita Bibles, though.
About knowing the looks.. I get all sorts of looks. xD Going out looking as poofy as I do.. People have all kinds of reactions. I get people staring at me with their mouths open, glaring at me, complimenting me, asking questions, sometimes yelling at me.
I used to be into decora and all of that, but once decora lolita became the new lolita I was just not into it anymore. I've seen too much of it, and a lot of it is pretty poorly done.

I believe that having sex before marriage is okay, but I personally  think it's only okay to do with someone you love.

AmyTrivitt, neither of them are being ignorant. >_>;

I have no idea what alternative fashions are or Japanese street wear is.
I like jeans and T-shirts
Alternative fashion is like goth, emo, scene, etc. I can't think of any popular ones that aren't dark, but they aren't necessarily dark.
