Off-Topic / Have you ever found something really valuable?
« on: November 24, 2012, 11:31:00 am »Message ID: 646166
I just finished reading about a heating/ventilation worker who discovered twelve jars of gold dust valued at three hundred thousand dollars! I had people, at a health club that I used to work at, that turned in a twenty five thousand dollar engagement ring and another person turned in a wad of bills totalling three hundred and fifty dollars!  The most that I have ever found was a twenty dollar bill(if I thought there were a chance of finding the owner I would make the effort) and I was totally excited about that! Kind of put me in perspective because I am typing this entry which is worth roughly ten cents because I need to post thirty times in order to earn three dollars.  Every penny counts!

Off-Topic / Suing your parents?
« on: October 18, 2012, 07:46:25 pm »Message ID: 625096
I was listening to the radio the other day and one of the stories was about two young men that were suing their parents because the parenting skills were inadequate. Their reasoning was that you could sue a Doctor for mal-practice or a mechanic for screwing up your car...why couldn't you sue your parents if you were unsuccesful as a result of your upbringing.  These particular kids were upset over small things like a congratulation card on their eighth birthday instead of a birthday card(whatever) but had kept track of everything bad that had happened in their formative years.  What do you think?

Off-Topic / Boycott the NFL until the Team Owners and referees come to an agreement!
« on: September 25, 2012, 06:54:58 pm »Message ID: 611099
I don't think that the National Football League deserves another penny from advertisers until they match the Professional Football players with Referees that know what they are doing.  I love football, am a Huge Packer's Fan, am engaged in many football pools but refuse to watch another game until the Owners and Ref's come to an agreement. The Packer game was absolutely disgusting! If enough people do it the advertisers will start to pull their money and, I guarantee, the negotiations will go quicker.  For now I am only going to watch College ball and I have closed all football pools (last payout tomorrow). I am on strike and I think more fans should join me.

Off-Topic / Cleaning before the cleaning lady comes?
« on: September 03, 2012, 02:15:46 pm »Message ID: 598983
My wife will spend two hours cleaning the house before the cleaning lady arrives: vacuuming, dishes, laundry.  She then spends two tothree hours on the weekend cleaning...every weekend.  I have a fifteen and thirteen year old...we don't make a big mess.  My wife than spends time trying to make us feel guilty about all of the work that she does around the house.  We can't even relax on the weekends because she is constantly flitting about.  I have started to work on weekends so that I don't have to watch this.  I am thinking about stopping the cleaning service...why bother having it?

Off-Topic / Did we get the Gold Because she was Gay?

Way to Go-Team USA!  I was surprised that Rapinoe came out of the closet.  Horrible of me to say this but I thought that upwards of eighty percent of the women's soccer, softball, and basketball teams were in the why bother making a public spectacle of it...and what did it have to do with her performance?  Rapinoe's fifteen seconds of fame was spent on making a sexual preference statement?  Or was this aimed at helping other young, nuddng closet dwellers escape their dungeons?  This was a sports venue...who cares if you are locking lips with someone of the same sex?

Off-Topic / Moral/Ethical VS Best for my Child...
« on: June 12, 2012, 06:05:10 pm »Message ID: 552393
Let me preface this...I have been helping my son achieve his dream of being top-notch athlete since he was six.  He has become one of the best at his sport in a field of seventh/eight and ninth graders (he is going into eighth).  I have paid for personal trainers, put him into multiple leagues, and had him train with professionals in his sport.  People who don't know me have remarked about how good he is.  One of the ventures that I put him into is to meet in a tournament this weekend.  My son is there best bet at winning a few games and without him they probably won't win any.  Another team of elite players asked him to join them for this weekend.  Joining this team would be best for his goals but am I teaching him that letting your team down, for self gratification, is acceptable?

Off-Topic / Do you believe that your family should always come first?
« on: May 16, 2012, 07:02:17 am »Message ID: 538277
I get up at four in the morning walk the dogs, make my meals for the day, do my point to clicks/surveys, and shower which is the extent of what I do for myself. After that I work until six PM, come home to work on a second job(if I am not carting the kids around), make dinner for the family if my wife is at sports which is three days of the week.  On the weekends I am doing my second job, yardwork, setting up the kid's activities, driving them to their parties, movies, sporting events, the mall etc.,etc. I might sneak a work-out in once per month and my body is paying for it. I have put on weight and my clothes are ill-fitted because of it.

Off-Topic / Michele Bachman aiming fo Swedish Citizenship?
« on: May 09, 2012, 05:08:54 am »Message ID: 534671
Isn't that lovely?  After running for president she decides that having dual citizenship is the way to go.  Makes one wonder hw much faith she has in our country if she feels the need to have another country to fall back on. I was so surprised when she was included in the gaggle of candidates that the Republicans pinned their hopes on as they continually insulted Mr. Romney.  Even bigger insults were having Cain and Palin make feeble attempts.  Is Ron Paul still running or has he realized that Romney is the only shot at a Republican president.  Santorum even backs him...LOL...there is everyone's reassurance! Good luck GOP!

Off-Topic / Who is tired of reading about the Manning trade?
« on: March 17, 2012, 08:29:21 am »Message ID: 506429
Seriously?!?  This is like a fricking soap opera!  Will he play for the Titans?  or will he play for the Bronco's?  OMG the balance of the world lies in his decision...the National Football League will never be the same...blah blah blah. I think that Manning the Drama Queen may last one season which won't allow him enough time to fully adapt to his new team.  One or two hits and he will be out.  I think that a more important question is who will be the back-up quarterback who has to cover Manning when he is out?  He is thirty five years old and they are talking about expending salary caps in order to get him on a team.  Is anyone looking at htis from a practical standpoint?  This is as bad as every year's drama surrounding whether Favre would play another season...or not.  Did they hire the same publicist?

Off-Topic / Who Banks at Wells Fargo?
« on: March 08, 2012, 05:33:21 pm »Message ID: 502330
I have been a banker for tenty years of my life and just ran into another example of why Wells Fargo gives horrible service.  I live off of my debit card and, consequently, wear it out about every eight months. Every time I need a new card it takes them a month to get it to me. Most recently I had the card sent to them and they had it in their branch on a Thursday, called me to come and get it, and they had shredded it the next day because they thought that I wasn't coming in.  I reordered the card and checked up on it two weeks later and it hadn't been ordered.  I reordered it a third time and  was told my wife could pick it up.  She got there and they wouldn't let her have the card. I took off of work so that I could come in and get it and never received an apology after waiting 25 minutes for them to get the card!  Never had that problem at Chase!

Off-Topic / Does anyone get annoyed with words that are spelled incorrectly?
« on: February 26, 2012, 02:07:39 pm »Message ID: 495988
I will break out a red pencil on birthday cards and circle spelling errors.  The forum at Fusioncash has an astronomical number of errors in spelling.  I have seen a couple of the bloggers try to correct people who have posted only to be reprimanded for doing so.  For those of you that are mis-spelling words, don't take offense, take the input given to you by those of us on this site that like reading intelligently put together responses.  I don't believe that  I am asking too much.  Any job worth doing is worth doing take the time to spell your words correctly.  Spell check does wonders.

Off-Topic / anybody in the world surprised that Cain Bowed out?
« on: December 03, 2011, 04:37:26 pm »Message ID: 455965
I am surprised that he ever got into the race!  With his past it took real cojones to consider a political position. With everything surfacing at this point he had to have realized that his past would catch up to him.  I was somewhat amused that his attorneys said that Mr. Cain's private life had no business being exposed by the media. Are they serious?  Um...Mr. Bundy's previous history as a serial killer has no business being in the limelight as he runs for the most important position in our country (tic). Up until the announcement there were still people saying that they would financially back him all the way. Down to two, I guess, or will there be a final attempt to put someone in the race that stands a chance?

Off-Topic / How much is ten years of lost life worth?
« on: November 20, 2011, 07:16:53 am »Message ID: 448983
Or Twenty or more?  So many times we read about someone that has been locked up in jail only to have been found innocent after an extended period of time.  There is no reagaining the times that they could have spent with their families, improving themselves, saving for the future, growing accustomed to ana ever changing society, not to mention the atrocities that they may have suffered by being exposed to true criminals.  Is money enough?  Can saying "Oops, I'm sorry" cover it all?

Off-Topic / Not only is Cain a great role model...
« on: November 12, 2011, 06:27:48 am »Message ID: 445683
(tic) from the standpoint of using past positions of authority to harass young women but I am particularly impressed with his use of ghetto-ese: "Ain't" and "my brother from another mother"!  Cain can take this country far with his classy influence! Maybe he can adapt some of George W's "schucks", "Y'all" and interminable silences as he tries to remember what his point was...maybe even make up some reasons to start another war...yeah there we go!  At least Bush kept silent when he ws trying to figure out what to say...Perry was hilarious the other day!

Off-Topic / So what if Cain had an affair...
« on: November 05, 2011, 09:55:26 am »Message ID: 442843
if it did happen it was twenty one years ago!  He hasn't been caught at anything!  The fact that he is trying to hide something is much worse than the actual act.  Didn't we learn that from Bill Clinton?  All politicians seem to be power-driven, ego-maniacs and illicit sex, seemingly, allows them to control their engines enough to keep them from ruining a city, county, state, or country.  Given this line of thought I would venture to guess that George W was never exposed to infidelity!
