Off-Topic / Re: Has anyone written an e-mail to companies and received a refund?

Back in the 80s I wrote a company that made dish detergent. The cap came off and dumped soap in some wooden salad bowls I had. I could never get rid of it. They sent me a voucher for $10 maybe. They even went to explain how they contacted their quality and testing department to see if there was any reason for the cap to slip off.

I moved a few months ago and my house looks like one from Hoarders but for different reasons. Trying to remodel at the same time. What a mess! I don't recommend that!

Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili or Fritos Honey Barbeque Twists. Yum. They're both addictive!

If money is really tight, a mobile home is the way to go. I live in a hurricane area and would have to evacuate in advance, which would be a real problem. I would also think carefully about it if you live in a tornado area. The house is the best way but does require lots of upkeep.

I like Mahjong. I even downloaded and paid for it because I got points from another make-money site to do so.

The best way to save on your electricity is to "unplug" your water heater every night, or you can install a cheap timer to turn it on and off. My cousin is a nuclear physicist, and he has a video on You Tube where he says to do just that. Gulf Power has a one of a kind program where they install Energy Select in your home for free and you control your own energy with their thermostat or through the Internet. You also have three tiers of costs and you can choose to use the most energy during the least expensive times of day.

I have an iPhone 4 with a bad MIC, an HTC EVO that drops calls thanks to the provider, and 2 cheap Tracfones that work better than the first two.

I'm a huge believer in You Mail, which is a free service that gives out any fake voice mail message you choose, including that the number has been disconnected.  You can assign messages individually, so you will never hear from certain people again. Just Google You Mail and become a believer. :)

I too tear off personal information to shred and put the rest in the recycling bin. I always seem to have a stack of things to shred. It's a never-ending process!

I like it all, but hand-tossed certainly saves on the calories!

I must say that the time changes always mess with me, but since I work from home, I set my alarm for 45 minutes later and it has worked beautifully. I don't feel like a zombie now.

I've not had recent experience with anything other than XP or Vista. I bought a used PC with Vista on it and I actually liked it. That computer died and I'm back to XP now. I telecommute from home and rely on computers so I hope there aren't any problems in the foreseeable future.

I have an iPhone 4, which has a bad MIC. I have an HTC EVO, which I hate, and Sprint also drops calls. I have 2 cheap Tracfones that work better than the first two because they use all the carriers' networks.

I could never be lucky enough to get rich. I haven't been in a while but I used to take a certain amount of money that I expected to lose for entertainment purposes. I usually broke even because if I got ahead, I quit.

The temperature will be in the 70s here in Florida, which I'm very grateful for after a rough winter with the ice storm. It will be in the 30s tonight. Brrrrr. I'm also grateful to be alive because I dreamed someone was trying to kill me. LOL
