Off-Topic / Re: Do small kittens usually sit on your shoulders?
« on: September 27, 2012, 01:14:18 pm »Message ID: 612014
We got a 2 month old kitten this evening, and he seems to want to be perched on my shoulder like a bird. I don't think I have ever seen this. He finally settled in the recliner so I can use the computer now. lol.

So cute! My cat still likes to sit on my shoulder, lol. I scoop her up when I get home and she just hangs out draped over my shoulder purring her face off (she can't exactly perch there anymore like she once could). I think they like to be up high, and when it's just a tiny kitten it's the perfect fit for them up there :)

Hey, I'm due to have my first baby any minute now! Congrats to us both :) If you're really scared of the pain, remember you can always get an epidural. I'm planning on going through it without one, though. I plan on using distraction techniques, breathing, and just focusing on the prize at the end as much as possible. We didn't find out the sex of our baby, so I'll have that to look forward to also! Hoping it gets me through. Good luck to you, and have fun at your shower!

i love to watch the price is right

I don't think this comment is going to earn your way to 30 comments for the month, lol. That being said, I love to watch New Girl, and I love the new shows that just came on right around it - Ben & Kate and The Mindy Project - hilarious!!!

Off-Topic / Re: How much do you pay for internet?
« on: September 27, 2012, 01:08:18 pm »Message ID: 612010
I pay $50 a month for Clear. It really is only $50 though, no taxes that bump it higher, and that's a fixed rate, not promotional. I've looked at all my options in this area, and that is the cheapest for the speed I have. Unfortunately, it's not the most reliable or fastest connection. If I start telecommuting more, I'm going to have to look into Comcast internet bundled with a phone line I think. We don't have cable tv.

Off-Topic / Re: how do you know if you have streph throat
« on: September 27, 2012, 01:05:54 pm »Message ID: 612007
i have a doctors appointment but i can't get in to see him till tuesday of next week my throat hurts and when i swallow it hurt's more and my tounge has a white thick coating on it i have a fever also i no it is contagious any ideas

Your symptoms don't sound good, particularly the fever. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is to have a throat culture done. I'd call your doctor back, explain that you're pretty sure, know you're contagious if so, and see if they can squeeze you in even if it's just with a nurse to do the culture. The culture itself takes mere minutes, and if it comes up positive then you can get a prescription called in right away.

Off-Topic / Re: I'm trying to drink my 8 glasses of water a day

I can see how this might help because it will keep your skin more hydrated/moisturized, if that's what's causing your break outs. One tip I'd have is don't wash your face twice a day. Wash it once in the evening and be sure what you're using isn't too drying, or use a moisturizer, and then in the morning just wash your face with warm water. I think this makes a world of difference for sensitive skin.

Your pom is adorable, and kudos to you for adopting it from a shelter! I've seen a lot of really cute pomeranian mixes too, but I love the golden color of a pom.

I'd love to hear all of your tips for first time moms. My husband and I are expecting a little one any day now (already past my due date :crybaby2: lol) and I know we're in for a world of the unexpected! Anything that helped you in those first few weeks, or any life hacks you have for as they get older would be much appreciated!

I don't really know what any of that means. I am not upgrading though because I don't want to have to use all new adaptors. That ruined it for me.

I'm not updating my from my 4s because not enough has changed with this new release to make it worth the expense!

I'm a Capricorn! :)

I'm a Taurus, and I'm just as stubborn as the bull in my sign! This reminds me, I want to go look up the zodiac sign my future child will have!

I am truly addicted to Reese's Peanut Buttercups........delicious.

I loooooove Reese's also. I even used to love the cereal as a kid, which is kind of disgusting ;) My other fave candy bar is Butterfingers. Guess I just really love peanut butter!

Anything with blackberries is my favorite. I'm also a huge fan of the frozen yogurt pops that Whole Foods sells. They are the best! And pomegranate real fruit popsicles are also delish :)

Off-Topic / Re: natural pain relief
« on: September 16, 2012, 05:32:12 pm »Message ID: 605844
yes they work wonders and even on pregnant women but be careful with reflexology while pregnant because there is a pressure point that can induce labor. i was told by a friend who is taking reflexology classes. he refuses to touch my feet coz he knows my history.

I'd like him to come rub my feet right now, lol! I am pretty ready to be done with pregnancy ;) I'm going to try to make it through labor naturally, so I need all the natural pain relief techniques I can find - thanks for the suggestions!

Off-Topic / Re: how to raise money for low budget horror movie
« on: September 16, 2012, 05:30:00 pm »Message ID: 605842
I've been kicking around the idea for over ten years. Wish I was saving money for it that whole time, but that's another story. So I have many ideas, and some writing, still need to get a good solid script, but while I'm working on that I thought I could start raising some money, so when I am done, I will have something to start from. I know you can make crappy home style movies for next to nothing, but I want something a little better quality. Like some high end B movies. I'm going to invest in a mac one of these days, just can't afford it at the moment. Any ideas to raise some cash?

You could try Kickstarter! Promise a free copy to everyone who pitches in money, and maybe props or something bigger for bigger contributions.
