I've woken myself up crying a few times...it really leaves you feeling kind of down the rest of the day

I usually end up reading about 3 books at a time, switching between them depending on what I'm in the mood for LOL ...Right now I'm re-reading Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon...I just downloaded it onto my Kindle (even though it's already on my bookshelf!) and was in the mood for a very engrossing story. If you are interested in the historical fiction/ romance/ adventure novels pick up Outlander, it's amazing! I'm also reading Sex in the City and I Talk Pretty One Day.

Off-Topic / Re: Gas prices
« on: February 25, 2011, 01:37:35 pm »Message ID: 318276
I saw today that gas was at $3.25! It's getting ridiculous....the government really should do something...the higher the gas prices climb, the worse our economy gets because no one wants to spend money on anything extraneous when they have to worry about being able to put gas in the car just to get to work. I think that fixing gas prices could boost our economy immensely. Just ask yourself- if it only cost $20 to fill up your car each week, what would you do with that extra money? Go to the movies? Buy your kids new clothes? Go visit family? Seriously....why don't they think of that? Bunch of morons!

During the day I want it bright with natural light. At bedtime though I like it dark or else I can't sleep...unless my bf is working nights then I keep a light on.

Off-Topic / Re: Do u like reading novels ?

I began reading as a child and have been reading ever since.  I read a whole plethora of books - fiction, nonfiction, and historical versions of both.  I had rheumatic fever as a child and was out of school and in bed for several months.  I began reading from boredom (no TV back in the day).  We began reading with our daughter and she is now still an avid reader in her 30's and teaching her son (3 years old) to love books.  Her husband gave her a Kindle for her birthday; now I'm thinking of getting one.  Anyone have an eBook they could comment on?

I love to read and having the Kindle just makes it so much more convenient! There are thousands of free books to download, mostly the classics like Jane Austen, Charles Dickens etc..it's really gotten me into reading the classic works. If I had to pick one very worthy author, Diana Gabaldon! Check out her novels. She has a series called Outlander which is a mix of history, romance, and a little sci-fi...if you're into standing stones (like stone Henge) and suspense and great characters, these are worth the read!

Off-Topic / Re: Like watching movie at home / theatres ?
« on: February 25, 2011, 01:21:18 pm »Message ID: 318257
Sometimes I like the movie theater experience but when you're sitting there with a row of giggly, excitable teens jabbering through the movie, it ruins the whole thing. Much better to wait for the movie to come on on DVD and watch from the comfort of my couch with a bowl of fresh popcorn and the ability to take a pee break and not miss anything

I like to buy some of my meat in the bulk packages like hamburger. I get the 5lb package and divide it up into baggies for the freezer. *Tip* When you put the hamburger meat in the baggie, smush it flat so that it spreads across the bag. This will 1) push out any extra air; 2) make it easier to store in the freezer; and 3) makes it thaw out faster. We don't have cable or satellite TV so I watch shows on Hulu or Netflix. I shop at Goodwill and Half Price bookstores which has tons of movies and books for, well, half price!

Walmart....and as always it was Hell on Earth! It's like there are no other stores within a 50 mile radius! I go there to save money and try to go at just the right time of day to avoid crowds but that time is usually 6am on a Tuesday LOL...sometimes it's just worth it to spend the extra money and be one of only 6 other customers in the local grocery store....

I really want to go to England, Ireland and Scotland! But for now I'm thinking of stting up a Disney vacation savings account so that when my daughter turns 8 (in 6 years! LOL) we will have plenty saved up for a fantastic all-inclusive vacation

Just remember- you might think you're in a rut right now but really, you've reached that point of being comfortable with each other. It's what I like to think of as a "stable home life" LOL It's security and comfort and knowing that the person there with you loves you so much that you don't have to say it constantly. Do you really want to have to re-learn everything about someone new? Like, what all the different faces they make mean?

I'm two days away from my big 3-0...I feel bummed about it sometimes but mostly because I have to dye my hair, not just for fun anymore. And I just bought my first wrinkle treatment to help keep my face looking young.  :'(
