Off-Topic / Re: how do you get a kid to behave in church?

Coloring books and crayons are usually the easiest course of action. It's what my mom did for me at least. Action figures or race cars are also good, but as long as he knows not to make noise with them. If that doesn't work, I would tell him he is going to get a 'time out' afterwards if he doesn't behave properly. When all else fails, threaten him with the wrath of God!  :dontknow:

Off-Topic / Re: WOULD YOU KISS ON A FIRST DATE??
« on: September 12, 2010, 05:44:00 pm »Message ID: 236289
A good-bye kiss on the cheek is harmless, but anything more than that is risky business! I would want to know the guy a little bit better before I start playing tonsil-hockey with him, especially how many girls he's been with! If we liked each other, his track record was clean, and it was about the 3rd or 4th date, hey why not go in for a smooch?  :star:  :star:

Off-Topic / Re: HOW DO YOU SPEND MOST OF YOUR SUNDAYS???
« on: September 12, 2010, 05:38:52 pm »Message ID: 236286
RELAXING!!! That includes sleeping in, usually til about 1 or 2 pm. Then I spend about 3 hours online, Facebooking, Fushion-Cashing, etc. Then I play some video games with my hubby and watch some tv, maybe read a book. Then it's dinner time, bed, and onto another hectic work-week!

Off-Topic / Re: Would you get jealous if your hubby had a female friend?

I trust my husband very much, and for the most part, would not feel any jealousy. However, if she was all up on him, and he was receptive to her passes, then there would be some issues to work out. But, at the end of the night, he comes home to me and I have faith in him that if he did/does have a female friend, it is strictly friendship and nothing more.

Off-Topic / Re: 9-11 Where Were You That Day!
« on: September 11, 2010, 08:53:13 pm »Message ID: 235813
I was 15 years old, in my sophmore year, more specifically in Biology class. When it occured, I didn't know what to think. Everyone in the school was in panic about their loved ones, and a lot of parents were coming to pick their kids up and bring them home. My sister came to pick me up. As we stood in the office signing me out, she hugged me and I just broke down into tears, thinking of all those innocent people who lost their lives. I live in New Jersey, and a lot of police officers and firefighters from my area were being called to help out, and I was so scared my dad (a police officer at the time) was going to be called. Thank God he wasn't. That day changed my life forever. My house was pretty close to the Outer Bridge Crossing and even at the time that I went to bed, they were still not letting people over the bridge into the City. I kept thinking about those people standing pretty much outside my house....tired, hungry, and stranded, waiting to get home. I may have not lost anyone in the tragic events of that day, but it was that day that made me realize how much I love my country. It was all the people who's lives were struck down that day that made me want to defend my country, my family, and my friends. It was that day that inspired me to get the beautiful Red, White and Blue tattooed on my arm. And it was that day that brings tears to my eyes as I write this, even 9 years after the fact. Never forget 9/11/01.....never forget those who died.....and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Off-Topic / Re: SEX BEFORE MARRAIGE?? GOOD IDEA OR NOT?
« on: September 11, 2010, 08:39:11 pm »Message ID: 235797
I think it's a matter of personal opinion. If you think that the relationship between you and your lover is strong enough to last even after marriage, then waiting until marriage to have sex may be the best choice. It takes the pressures off of each person, and shows a strong dedication. However, if you and your lover are ready to do the deed, and you can handle any possible consequences, then there is nothing wrong with it, especially if the love between the two is cleary existent. It shows that you are comfortable with that person and trust them, and may even take pressures off of each person in the relationship. Either way, I think what is written in the Bible has been taken too literally, and when two people love each other whole-heartedly, it technically is a marriage. Now-in-days, a marriage is mostly symbolized by a piece of paper and a luxurious party, but I think what the writers of the Bible were trying to say is that there needs to be love (whether with a ring or not) in order for sex to take place, and as long as that exists, then it won't be considered "sinful".

Off-Topic / Re: Resident Evil games
« on: September 09, 2010, 09:32:07 pm »Message ID: 234812
I have always been a fan of the Resident Evil series. I love the plots, twists, and straight-up horror in every version. It's really funny because one of the games took place in a police station, and my dad was a cop, so me and my sis used to always creep each other out and be like..."What if Dad's police station is like this one? A secret lab filled with zombies??!" and we would laugh our butts off thinking about it. I played the 5th version, and I thought it was ok. I actually sold it back to the game store because it really wasn't giving me that old-fashioned R.E. feeling that the previous games gave me. I don't like the movies too much though. I think they kind of deviate from the true R.E. story lines found in the games. But I hear that the newest one is supposed to be the best one, so maybe I'll check it out!

Off-Topic / Re: Tattoos?
« on: September 09, 2010, 09:27:49 pm »Message ID: 234811
As soon as I turned 18 (about 6 years ago), I got my first tattoo on my upper right arm. Back then, I was really patriotic, and was pretty close to enlisting in the military. I wanted to show my patriotism by getting something with red, white, and blue. When I walked into the tat-shop, I didn't really know what shape I wanted, but the artist who did my work laid out a sketch of a tribal band with stars, and colored in with red, white, and blue. I loved it and told him to make it happen. My second tattoo I got about 3 years ago, it's on my left ankle area. It is a shield with a banner across it and says "My Heroes" with my family's last name initial in the center. Kind of a tribute to my loved ones. I really want to get another tattoo soon but I'm not really sure of what just yet. :star:

Off-Topic / Re: What is your favorite flavor ice cream?
« on: September 09, 2010, 09:22:45 pm »Message ID: 234810
I like bubble gum and cotton candy flavored ice cream the best. I can't choose which one I like more, they are both by favorites! They are kinda hard to find, and are usually not in soft-serve form, but they are still delicious. To add to the deliciousness, I always top mine with gummy bears, and sometimes caramel sauce. It's the wierdest combination, but it's soooo good!

Off-Topic / Re: Dark Chocolate or White Chocolate?

The only time I will eat dark chocolate is if it's filled with something, like caramel or coconut. I absolutely love white chocolate, always have and always will. At Easter time, my parents used to fill my basket with white chocolate shaped bunnies and stuff. I like how a lot of chocolate bars and now coming out with "white" versions, like Kit-Kat and Reese's Cups. I've had them both and they are amazing!!

Off-Topic / Tired and Restless
« on: September 07, 2010, 10:19:56 pm »Message ID: 233771
So it's 1:15 a.m. here in New Jersey, and for some reason, I'm tired and restless. Did you ever feel that your body was ready for bed, but your mind wasn't? That's how I feel right now. I mean, I'm an adult and all, so I can stay up til any time I want, and normally, this hour of the night wouldn't be a problem for me. Heck, I even like to consider myself a night owl. But, tomorrow I start another term at University and I don't really want to be falling asleep in class, especially the first day of class. Maybe I will just lay on the couch and watch some T.V. until I'm tired enough to lay down in the bed and fall asleep. What about you? Do you ever have this problem? If so, what do you usually do to get to sleep? Any good suggestions?  :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

Off-Topic / Re: summer or winter??
« on: September 07, 2010, 08:10:38 pm »Message ID: 233731
If I had to choose, I'd have to say Summer. I do like wearing shorts, going swimming, sunbathing, carnivals, etc. But there is also a part of me that loves Winter. I love when it snows here, and you can smell it in the air, just like the rain. I love anticipating a snow day....which as an adult means no college classes AND work! I love the Winter holidays, such as Christmas. The only thing I don't like about Winter is when it gets extremly cold, so cold it hurts. Those are the days that I favor Summer the most!

Off-Topic / Re: Who loves White Castle burgers?
« on: September 07, 2010, 08:06:08 pm »Message ID: 233730
White Castle burgers are AMAZING! I don't care how greasy/unhealthy they are, they are the best tasting food I have ever put in my mouth! I can easily down like 6 of them, but I only get to eat them once in a while, since money is tight and I can't really spend it on fast food. I like how they have the frozen ones, but to tell the truth, they are never as good as the ones from the restaurant itself!

Off-Topic / Re: What about Help for AMERICA?!!!

I totally agree! I'm soooo broke, I'm living off of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, my rent is well over-due, and I owe my parents money for bailing me out of these situations several times!! It's like, any time there is a crisis some where else in the world, our country is the first one to be on top of it, helping the people in need. That's a great thing to do and all, but we have our own crisis to worry about: the economy. I'm lucky to have a job, but what sucks is when it's sooo slow that I'm let go early and then I lose a couple hours of pay. Meanwhile, I have no health insurance, so I can't afford to get sick. I'm in school, busting my butt trying to get a degree so I can get a better paying job, but in the meantime, I need some help from my country that I love and support! Ok, so I vented too, and let me tell you, it feels good!  :star: :star: :star:

I don't have a favorite brand of Peanut Butter, I usually get the store brand cause it's the cheapest price. But as for style, I prefer crunchy. I like to slather on a heavy layer, with or without jelly, and a huge glass of refreshing 2% milk.
