Off-Topic / Re: Merry Christmas

Yes, I hope everyone has a safe and blessed Christmas! Let us keep in mind those who cannot be with us this holiday, like servicemen and servicewomen. Also those who have passed away. The holidays are supposed to be a joyful season, but sometimes it's easy to forget just what we are joyful about. We must rejoice in the birth of Jesus, for without him, there would be no Heaven, and certainly, no Christmas.

Pumpkin pie is my favorite type! I like it without whipped cream, and like it cold. I know a lot of people eat it for Christmas, but I've always thought of it more like a Thanksgiving, of fall-type dessert. I guess if you really like it, you can eat it whenever you want!

Off-Topic / Re: Does anyone have a good tip on how to save money

Oh man, it's so hard to save money nowadays! I've been trying to save some myself, since in 11 months I'm getting married and me and my fiance are trying to get our own place and move out of his parents. What I have been doing lately is paying for things in cash, and then saving the silver change. Believe it or not, it adds up. Last month I was able to deposit $40 in change! I've also been a lot tighter with my spending lately. I've tried to cut back on anything unnecessary, and take anything left over after bills are paid and put that into my savings. It's hard, but I personally feel I myself have learned a lot and have been able to better save, and if I can do it, you can too!

I use my phone more for entertainment purposes than for phone calls. Facebook, texting, gaming, mobile banking, etc. Don't get me wrong, I use it to call my family when I can, but I'm not glued to it in the sense of non-stop talking. I actually prefer to use my home phone to make calls, as the reception in my room is terrible and most times I lose calls.

Me and my fiance love to do this too! Back when I was living in NJ, he came to visit me and we went to an antique store in Burlington. It was huge! There is a really awesome place here in Massachusetts that we would like to go to one day. In the meantime, we hit up yard sales when we can, and collect the things that interest us the most.

True, and in most modern physics books, time only moves forward. But what if time is actually looping underneath itself, and that is how we can go to the past? I am a firm believer in time travel, and this looping theory is actually well-known among physicists like Stephen Hawking. I hope one day we can actually prove this theory, and be able to jump back and forth to different points in time.

Off-Topic / Re: Christmas Cookies
« on: December 22, 2016, 04:03:53 pm »Message ID: 1112261
I used to bake Christmas cookies with my mom when I was younger. We had this really cool cookie press kind of handheld machine and you would put the dough in it, then put a metal disk with a design over the end, and then push the button and it would smash the dough through the design disk and voila, you had a perfect cookie! It was my favorite part of the cookie baking. Then after the cookies were done, we would add sprinkles to them. I would always sneak a cookie or two while mom wasn't looking!

Yes, we actually have these at our house! You can turn the motion feature either on or off. I will admit that it's kind of weird when the motion is on, but it still makes the house look nice. Even when the motion feature is off, it still makes for a unique light display. The only thing is, if it faces the front of your house, it will project into the house through the windows, and it'll be on the walls and any furniture that is in the room. I don't own this house, it's my father-in-law's, so he has rule over what decorations go up, and it's not that I don't like the Star Shower, but I prefer traditional bulb string lights!

Off-Topic / Credit Reports
« on: December 22, 2016, 03:46:02 pm »Message ID: 1112258
About 2 weeks ago, I checked my credit reports from all 3 of the credit reporting bureaus. All my accounts look normal, no worries there. But I did notice something a little unusual, and I'm not sure if I should be concerned about it or not. There is an address that I never lived at, and do not recognize. Also, they have my current last name spelled correctly, my former married name, and then another version of my current last name that is missing one letter. I know these are things that don't technically have any effect on my credit, but I don't have any explanation for them, and that bothers me. Is it worth pursuing? Like I said, all my accounts and everything else are fine, so it doesn't seem like anyone is attempting to steal my identity, but I am just wondering why and how those 2 inaccuracies appeared.

Off-Topic / Feeling Nervous
« on: December 22, 2016, 03:38:28 pm »Message ID: 1112257
I applied for a private student loan today, and was told that my application is flagged as a "Non-US Permanent Resident". I'm not sure if the person who entered my information mistakenly selected that option, but I am a full-fledged US Citizen. Have been for all 30 years of my life. To make a long story short, they are telling me to just submit my birth certificate and they can correct it. But I am worried as to why this happened in the first place. A part of me wants to just think it was a typing error by the person who took my information, but another part of me is nervous about identity fraud. About 2 weeks ago, I did check my credit reports from all 3 credit bureaus, and everything seemed normal. Is it possible for someone to steal my identity and change my citizenship status? Or am I just overthinking this whole thing?

Off-Topic / Re: Do you enjoy eating hard candy?

I more or less prefer a gummy candy to a hard candy, but there are certain hard candies that I will enjoy from time to time. I love the hard butterscotch candies, and I like Jolly Ranchers. There are probably more out there I like, but I just can't remember them right now!

Well, 2016 was definitely an interesting year for me. It was the year I moved to a new state, got a new job, got engaged, and made many new memories. But I am ready for 2017. This year, me and my fiance will be getting our own apartment around June, and then we will be getting married in November. I will most likely be going back to school as well to finish my Bachelor's Degree. So I am excited for all thrights changes the new year is going to bring!

Off-Topic / Re: what is your favorite thing about the holidays
« on: December 20, 2016, 06:04:20 pm »Message ID: 1111946
I enjoy buying presents for my loved ones. I can't wait for my fiance to open his gifts, some of them he is not expecting! I also enjoy giving my parents and siblings their gifts, and especially my niece and nephews. For me, it's about the giving aspect of the season, not the getting. I would rather go broke making others happy, because their happiness is my happiness.

Off-Topic / Re: Hacking...

Hacking the election...no. Russia had no influence on mine or many of the people I know's vote. We decided we wanted him to be our President based on factual data. Now whether or not Russia has any hand in the actual leaks, that's a different story. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. But honestly, even if the leaks never happened, I was still voting for Trump. So I don't believe the actual election results were tampered with.
