Have you ever marched or ridden in a parade and if so which one?  Every year in high school our band was in the Sun Bowl Parade and my senior year we were invited to march in the Rose Bowl Parade.

Off-Topic / First Pet

My first pet was a goldfish which lasted about two weeks, followed by a couple of guppies which made it about three weeks.  Quickly figured out we were not ment to take care of fish.  So we got a mutt mixed breed dog that lived with us for 15 years.

Do you have a statue in your town?  We have several in the DFW metro mess and probably the most sought after by the visiting tourists is the display of the wild mustangs in Irving, Texas.

Off-Topic / trick or treat memory
« on: October 25, 2013, 09:49:30 am »Message ID: 809493
Do you have any trick or treat memories you would like to share?   The one that sticks in my mind was the first trick or treat with my daughter when she was three years old.  She was all decked out as a princess with glitter in her hair and a crown.  The night started out fine with her tugging me along as we toured the neighborhood.  Than a cold front hit and dropped the temps about 30 degrees.  I suggested calling it a night and returning home.  My daughter would have nothing to do with that idea.  So we continued trick or treating but with a different plan of attack as we moved from house to house she would climb up into my arms and snuggle her way inside my coat to keep warm.  By the time we got back to the house I was covered in more glitter than she was.

Anybody else notice how wierd the weather has gotten.  Mexico has tropical storms on both sides and flooding in Colorado and New Mexico.   Not sure I would tie it into Global warming but it sure is wierd.

Off-Topic / Longest Trip you have ever taken
« on: September 08, 2013, 02:34:38 pm »Message ID: 791563
What is the longest trip you have ever taken?  For me it was a circle trip around the United States by train where I boarded in Shelby, Montana, to Seattle, Washington.  Than from Seattle to Los Angles, CA.  From Los Angles to El Paso, Tx where I visited a week with my mom.  Than from El Paso to Dallas where I spent New Years and than from Dallas, Tx to Chicago, Il.  And my final leg was from Chicago back to Shelby.  When I added it all up it was about 5,000 miles.

What food or drink items have you ever made from heating in the sun?  I have made sun tea and baked potatoes all with just the power of the sun for the only heat source.
