Offers / Credit revoked Shopping Behavior Study

Did anyone else get the credit revoked on this one?  It's so rare that it happens, but I always find it a bit frustrating when survey affiliates do that.

I haven't had a chance to look the site over in detail, but this looks interesting. In any event, it was an easy sign up, and it credited in about 10 minutes.

Offers / FC Survey: Movie & TV Panel
« on: June 17, 2012, 05:27:34 am »Message ID: 556527
I couldn't find a thread on this one, so sorry if this is a duplicate.

I checked out the FC Surveys page today on a whim, and thought this one looked like fun. It's betting with virtual funds on upcoming movies, tv shows and other events. I think this may be one to add to my daily routine, because it looks like it could be addicting. Better still --

FC Survey: Movie & TV Panel    2012-06-17    $1.00    Approved

It credited very fast. Check it out if you're not already a member, it was fun.

Edit - after posting, I saw that Kay already had a thread going on this one. Oops! I'll lock this topic so there's not a lot of duplicates going on.

Off-Topic / AMC Series - The Killing - on Netflix streaming
« on: March 30, 2012, 04:23:15 am »Message ID: 512461
I've been watching this series on Netflix, and it's really fantastic. If anyone's been looking for something new to add to their instant queue, this is a good one.

I didn't catch Season 1 when it was being aired, so it's good to be able to get caught up before Season 2 starts next week.

Synopsis from the show's site:

Quote
"From writer, executive producer and series showrunner Veena Sud (Cold Case), The Killing is based on the wildly successful Danish television series Forbrydelsen and tells the story of the murder of a young girl in Seattle and the subsequent police investigation.

The Killing ties together three distinct stories around a single murder including the detectives assigned to the case, the victim's grieving family, and the suspects. Set in Seattle, the story also explores local politics as it follows politicians connected to the case. As the series unfolds, it becomes clear that there are no accidents; everyone has a secret, and while the characters think they've moved on, their past isn't done with them. "

Offers / Prepaid debit card offers
« on: March 14, 2012, 05:59:51 am »Message ID: 505063
Has anyone done any of those?

I've been looking into getting one, especially when I heard that these type of cards have routing and account numbers that can be used for direct deposit. I'm considering putting all of my earnings from different sites onto a prepaid debit, because I'm very wary of giving my primary bank's account information online to any site.

I figured since I want one I might as well sign up through here so FC gets the commission and I get the bump in my account balance. I was curious if anyone had done a prepaid debit card offer on this site, because there is quite the variety of them that come and go from time to time. The two that I see are active now are:

Account Now Gold $1.75
RushCard $2.00

Anyone have either one of these? If so, are you happy with their fees and customer service?

Thanks

Just thought I'd start a post, I haven't seen anyone mentioning it today so far. The captchas for the PTC and daily email aren't loading for me right now using firefox.

I just tried the daily email in chrome and got the same problem too.  I'll try them both again later on today. Anyone else having trouble with them?

Off-Topic / Home made laundry detergent
« on: January 14, 2012, 07:05:28 am »Message ID: 475314
Has anyone ever tried this? I just finished a month test to see if it got our clothes as clean as store bought, and I don't notice any difference. I think it's going to wind up saving us some money in the long run.

The recipe was really simple:

1 cup of Borax
1 cup of Arm & Hammer Laundry Soda
1 bar of natural soap

Finely grate the soap and mix well with the borax and laundry soda. Use 1 tablespoon for regular loads, 2 tablespoons for large or heavily stained loads.

The recipes all said you can use any type of natural soap that's out there - Yardley, Ivory, Dr Brommers, Zuds, etc

The dollar store had Yardley soap in the sale aisle for 3 for $1.00 so that was pretty inexpensive.

Has anyone else ever used this over the long run? How did it work out for you? I still have a few bottles of regular detergent I got from couponing very cheap, but I thought it might be nice to try and be a little more self-sufficient for 2012 and try it in small ways like this.

I'm getting "This video is private" What a drag.

Why do advertisers open up their videos for traffic, only to make them private after doing so? Or do you think this was maybe someone who had submitted a video as part of a contest, and wasn't prepared for the amount of traffic they would get?

Off-Topic / Home made jar gifts
« on: December 18, 2011, 05:26:43 am »Message ID: 462528
Has anyone done this? Money is super tight this year so I'm doing jar gifts for everyone. Even these can be a bit expensive. I went shopping yesterday and got all the supplies, and I'm going to be doing them all afternoon today after I get my housework done.

I'm doing:
- Cinnamon Pancake Mix
- Raisin & Brown Sugar Oatmeal Mix
- Different bread mixes
- Different sugar body scrubs

Has anyone else done these? I've been googling pictures of them to get ideas and some look really pretty.

Off-Topic / TakeThisLollipop Mysterious Site Creates a Horror Movie, Starring You: NY Times

This website was fun and scary, if you like that type of thing. I tried it last night with my alternate Facebook account I use for coupons and such, because I didn't want to give it access to my main facebook account. It really was a riot. Here's the NY Times writeup on it:

Mysterious Site Creates a Horror Movie, Starring You By JENNA WORTHAM

There’s a hot new Web site making the rounds that mines your Facebook account and inserts your photo and other information into a creepy video — playing right into our biggest fears about privacy and the information we share online.

The mysterious site is called Take This Lollipop. After you give the site permission to connect to your Facebook account, it begins playing a video featuring a sweaty, twitchy man, sitting in a darkened room, using a computer to nose around Facebook. But he’s not browsing through just any random page — he’s looking at your account...

Off-Topic / How long does your dry cleaning take?
« on: October 05, 2011, 06:19:03 am »Message ID: 427503
We recently moved to a rural area, and one thing I'm having a hard time with is finding a good dry cleaners.

When we were in the city, there were tons of dry cleaners around. Because there was so much competition, most of them were very good and their prices were very competitive. They knew that if they provided bad service, people wouldn't go back, plus they'd get bad reviews of them on places like Yelp and InsiderPages, so they had the motivation to try and outperform their competitors.

Here - OMG it's horrible. The closest dry cleaners are all an hour away, and they are all the same chain of the same horrible company. When I looked at the reviews online, there's bad review after bad review, but because this place has no competition, they're the only game in town. I dropped off my husband's suit a week ago, and was really shocked when they said it wouldn't be back for five days

Five days to clean one suit? Really? Then, when I went back there to pick it up - it wasn't ready. I was really upset that I had taken two hours to drive there and back, plus the wasted gas, and the rude person behind the counter could have cared less. She said I should have called to make sure it was there. In my entire life I don't think I've ever called a dry cleaners to make sure something was ready when they said it would be.

Off-Topic / Favorite free iPad apps?
« on: August 27, 2011, 01:33:20 am »Message ID: 407429
My husband got an iPad 2 for work and I've been teaching myself how to use it so I can show him LOL! I've been having a lot of fun with it. I've installed the productivity apps that he'll need like Dropbox, etc. There are so many apps out there it's a bit overwhelming. I don't want to muck up his icons with things he doesn't need, but I know there are probably some really useful ones I'm missing. What are some good free or really really cheap apps? He is allowed to use it for personal use, so adding apps is OK.
