Off-Topic / Windows 8 problem- Adobe Flash
« on: February 19, 2013, 09:30:08 pm »Message ID: 690733
I just purchased a new all-in-one desktop which comes installed with Windows 8.  I'm having a problem with Adobe Flash which it says is already downloaded on my computer.  I can't watch the videos on Fusion Cash and more importantly I can't do my online college course which requires Flash to complete assignments. :dontknow:  I've looked online for answers and tried various things like my firewall and Active X, but to no avail.  Has anyone else had problems with Windows 8 in regards to Adobe Flash?  Thanks!!

Off-Topic / Glad to be back!! Longest you've been away from this site and why?
« on: February 17, 2013, 05:35:56 pm »Message ID: 689560
It sure is nice to be back on Fusion Cash, I was last on this site back in January 2012.  Last year was just a very busy year with college, work, and moving.  Hope this year brings a lot of happiness and loads of cash to everyone. :icon_rr:

Off-Topic / Overrated and Underrated.
« on: January 23, 2012, 08:11:11 am »Message ID: 479301
Who or what is over/underrated?  I was just thinking about this with the Giants going back to the Superbowl.  The team is not underated, but Eli Manning is the epitome of underrated.  Finally, the critics are saying he is an elite quarterback and is getting due recognition.  Overated?  Tony Romo, Philip Rivers, Batman, Moneyball(better not get an Oscar), Miller Lite(triple hops? where did they all go then?).

Debate & Discuss / Should skateboarding be banned on public property?
« on: October 27, 2011, 10:13:53 pm »Message ID: 438195
I see "No Skateboarding" signs all over the place and it just seems silly.  I understand the assumed liabilty from a skater getting hurt, but I just don't see a skateboarder really having a chance of suing anyone over any risky behavior that they undertake.  Why not ban running, bicycling, or any other possible risky behavior.  I am more annoyed with people loitering for no obvious purpose than someone enjoying their environs through recreation.

Off-Topic / Black Friday
« on: October 27, 2011, 09:33:02 pm »Message ID: 438178
Just about one month till the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday.  Are you looking for anything in particular or do you participate in the frenzy? :)  I've been checking out sites like BlackFriday.com that release the leaked advertisements well before Thanksgiving day.  Not much on there yet, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a 50-55 inch tv at a nice savings.  I still have a 36 inch tube tv that weighs about 200 pounds.  Nice picture still, but not hdtv and way too bulky too look good in my living room.

Off-Topic / Prepared for Halloween yet? bought candy, pumpkin, costume?
« on: October 15, 2011, 07:33:44 am »Message ID: 432566
I'll be away from home this year on Halloween so no pumpkin, candy, or decorations at my home.  Kind of sad as I like seeing the kids have fun and enjoy handing out candy and keeping a little stash to myself.

Off-Topic / Great Movie! 50/50
« on: October 15, 2011, 07:01:25 am »Message ID: 432557
Just saw 50/50 last night and it was an excellent movie, my highest recommendation.  You can find reviews of the movie on rottentomatoes.com and decide for yourself.  It was surprising to see Seth Rogen in a more serious acting role, though he still has his trademark humor.  I haven't seen Moneyball yet, but this was the best movie I've seen this year.

Off-Topic / Steve Jobs, R.I.P. (Apple Computer Founder/Owner)
« on: October 05, 2011, 05:21:40 pm »Message ID: 427840
I was watching Jeopardy tonight and was interrupted with the news flash that Steve Jobs passed.  I was surprised when he stepped down less than two months ago and because he was so private in his life I never found out that he had pancreatic cancer.  He was 56.  It's sad when anybody dies at a younger age than they should expect.  Cheers to a great innovator and visionary.  Not sure if he was secretly philanthopic, but I should hope so with the billions that he accrued.

Off-Topic / Generic/Store Brand vs Name Brand
« on: September 24, 2011, 09:50:24 pm »Message ID: 421832
For most of my grocery and household cleaning items I choose the generic and/or store brand over the more expensive name brand items.  I save the most money on cereal by getting the huge bags of Malt-o-meal cereal at Walmart that is cheaper than the much smaller name brand boxed cereal.  I can't tell a difference in taste and neither can my family, we've put it to the test and they are ubiquitous.  Spaghetti sauce and toilet paper are two items that come to mind that I always buy the name brand as I can tell the more expensive item is superior.  Are you a brand stickler or do you go generic?

Off-Topic / Giants Football players faking injuries, busted!
« on: September 21, 2011, 10:50:33 pm »Message ID: 420630
Apparently this has happened before in the NFL, but I've never seen it till now.  The Giants team couldn't keep up with the no huddle offense of the Rams and were likely about to be scored on when two Giants players spontaneously fell to the ground.  One of the players got up right away almost as if one of his other players told him that the other guy already fell down and he wasn't needed.  What a bunch of punks, they should be suspended.

Off-Topic / Best and Worst movie sequel
« on: September 19, 2011, 10:25:51 pm »Message ID: 419691
What is the best and worst movie sequel according to you?  Choosing the best movie sequel was much harder than deciding on the worst sequel.  The best movie sequel is Evil Dead 2.  Runner up: The Empire Strikes Back  The worst movie sequel is undoubtedly The Neverending Story 2.  Runner up: The Phantom Menace(Jar Jar Binks!)

Off-Topic / Second Life
« on: September 16, 2011, 04:12:35 am »Message ID: 417828
I've heard Second Life mentioned recently and while I know it's been around for quite a few years I just checked it out.  For those who don't know it's a Virtual Reality type sim where you choose your avatar and can then converse with other people around the world through their avatars.  You can create your own dwelling and surrounding if you don't mind paying real money for imaginary items.  Apparently there are some people who sell virtual "real estate" in Second Life and have become wealthy in doing so.  Nonetheless, I would rather talk to people in person than by using the phone or Facebook so Second Life is out of the question for me, novel as it may be.  I'd be interested to hear if anyone from FC has ever played Second Life.

Off-Topic / Layaway vs Piggy Bank
« on: September 08, 2011, 09:50:06 pm »Message ID: 414479
Do you consider layway a good option over saving money until you can pay in full?  I guess if you are tight on cash then you should pay towards what you want while you can.  What works best for you?

Off-Topic / Walmart brings back layaway for toys and electronics
« on: September 08, 2011, 09:46:52 pm »Message ID: 414477
From Oct. 17 to Dec. 16th. Walmart will be offering layaway for toys and electronics 15 dollars and above when the total amount set aside is 50 dollars or more.  There will be a non-refundable fee of 5 dollars and 10% deposit on the balance must be made to begin layaway.  If the layaway program goes well then Walmart states they will consider making it a long term option.  Currently only fine jewelry can make use of layaway at Walmart.  Just added the following link to Walmart so you can see the details.

Off-Topic / Current weight and/or how much weight would you like to lose?
« on: September 08, 2011, 06:48:19 pm »Message ID: 414409
Eat less food right?  I'm 5'10 220 and am tired of not being in shape.  I'm a size 36 waist and would love to be a size 34 or less.  I'm stocky so I'm not as rotund as 220 pounds might seem, but I'm chubby nonetheless. When I was 200 pounds 5 years ago for my wedding I didn't have a gut and had a size 34 waist.  What works/worked for you to lose weight?  What is your current weight and how much would you like to lose by years end?  This is usually the time of year where I start adding weight, but not this year.  I don't expect women to list their weight, but you can say how much weight you want to lose or have lost due to recent efforts.
