Off-Topic / Recommended Halloween/Horror movies?
« on: October 29, 2017, 12:18:19 am »Message ID: 1175808
My favorite horror movie is Texas Chainsaw Massacre from 1974.  However, the best Halloween horror movie is the first Halloween.  I have no idea how many Halloween sequels there were, but none compare to the first.

Off-Topic / Re: Does anyone have a good remedy for a cold?
« on: October 29, 2017, 12:06:59 am »Message ID: 1175807
I've tried the zinc therapies such as Cold Eeze and have had no noticeable effect.  I find I'm most susceptible to sickness when I'm run down without enough sleep or stressed out.  I think rest and possibly higher intake of Vitamin C is helpful in thwarting the cold.

Off-Topic / First video game or system that you played?
« on: October 29, 2017, 12:02:17 am »Message ID: 1175806
My first video game system was the Atari 2600 and I loved playing Frogger, Return of the Jedi: Death Star Battle, Pitfall, and many others.  The first time I was amazed at a video game was Super Mario Bros on the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES.

Don't believe I have ever seen a Hitchcock movie.  I've intended to see Vertigo for some time now.  I believe it was filmed in one single shot without panning away.  Have to see if it's available to watch somewhere.

Off-Topic / Re: Walmart has layaway for the holidays.

If there is any fee attached I wouldn't use layaway.  Might as well set the money aside yourself for whatever you want to purchase.  The other thing is I wouldn't want to use layaway to buy something and then see it being sold far cheaper on Black Friday.

Five Guys, Cook Out, and Burger King are my favorites.  I am 39 and have never tried a Big Mac.  Doesn't look appetizing to have a bun in the middle or their special sauce.  No thanks.

What channel is it on?  I watch the old series on streaming sites.  It's a little harder to watch than when I was a kid, but still fun.

I'll see what the reviews are on it first, before I waste money on a bad movie.  There is a famous movie review site on the internet with tomatoes in the name.  Don't think I can say what the site is.  I thought Wonder Woman was really good and I've come to like Superman vs Batman even though it's not up to par with the other superhero movies.

Milky Way is my favorite candy bar, especially the Midnight variety which has dark chocolate and vanilla nougat.

I live on a rural road in the country where the speed limit past my house is 45.  No one trick or treats on my road.  Some people put Halloween decorations in their yard on my road which seems like a waste of time if they are trying to let people know they are participating in Halloween.

In your scenario I would tell them politely that it wasn't my favorite, but everyone has different tastes.  My wife asks me how something looks and I'll tell her honestly in the same manner.

I smoke a cigarette if available after I've had several beers.  It seems to go together.  Sometimes I use the e-cigarettes to get a little safer buzz.

"Where the Wild Things are" was the book that really got me into reading as a very young child.  Choose your own adventure books were next for me and made me an avid reader.

Chesapeake, Virginia  I like it here okay, but would probably enjoy living in the mountains of VA more.  I love Winter and skiing so living close to a ski resort would be like Heaven.

Off-Topic / Re: do you buy new products when they come out
« on: July 18, 2016, 03:52:17 pm »Message ID: 1080506
The only thing I really buy new is video games.  There are always reviews of the games I want to buy before the games are released to the public.  For everything else I wait till the price comes down and to see what the reliability and reviews are of said product.
