Shrimp scampi sounds delicious at the moment.  I'm a bigger fan of crawfish however, I'm pretty country I guess.

IHOP is one of my favorite restaurants.  I could eat pancakes, eggs, bacon, and the like for every meal of the day.  I'm sure I'd be quite obese if I did that, but it sure would be tasty.

Yeah that's a pipe dream as far as online exploits go.  I'll be blown away if I made 100 bucks in a month doing surveys and the like.

Stick with it and have fun, but don't party to hard.  Too many college students drink themselves silly and are out of school after the first 2 years with college loans and nothing to show for it.  Your attitude seems much different though and I'm sure you will go far.  It's okay to have fun and get wild, but keep your eye on the prize.

I always wanted to play the drums.  It seems like they got all the chicks. :female:  Plus it just seems like fun to get all your angst out beating on something.  When I lived in Mississippi as a kid I remember a lot of people playing the harmonica, but I don't think that is chick bait.  I'm married now so I suppose it doesn't matter anymore. ;  )

Chesapeake, VA.  I grew up in a little town called Rolling Fork, MS where the only claim to fame is that it was the birthplace of Muddy Waters.  I sure miss the deep south and the laid back way of life down there.

Off-Topic / Re: How do you deal with a heartache?
« on: June 30, 2011, 08:06:52 pm »Message ID: 377394
My favorite song that deals with broken heart syndrome is "Unanswered Prayers" by Garth Brooks.  He prayed that God would make this certain woman his wife all these years ago, but it fell through and he was devastated.  Years later he looks at the woman who did become his wife and he thanks God for not answering his prayers so many years ago.  I think many/most people unfortunately go through this scenario one or possibly 2 times(hope not), before finding the one they are looking for.  I'm not sure what your broken heart is from, but hope you find solace in the other posters good advice, time heals all wounds.  Keep on living and trucking on, the busier you are the better you'll be.

I've often pondered how I would spend/split up my wishful lottery winnings, but I'm sure nothing can prepare you for being that damn lucky.  Would you give money to your relatives and if so how much?  I was thinking I would give money to my parents, brothers, and cousins.  You know perhaps just a couple million to each depending on big I struck it.  No need for avarice when your set for life.

Off-Topic / Just had surgery, anyone else? It sucks a big one.
« on: June 30, 2011, 07:54:03 pm »Message ID: 377386
Just had double inguinal hernia surgery on Wednesday and I don't recall anything after they put the Valium in my IV to help me relax.  I remember them wheeling me down the hallway and saying I was a little nervous and then I blacked out like one too many drinks might do.  I'm popping Percocets today like their Smarties, but it still feels like I just got kicked in the nads. :sad1:  Anyone else had hernia surgery or any surgery at all?  This was my first surgery and I could use some advice or just some empathy.  I'd love to be drinking a beer right now, but I can't drive up to the store.  Ah well, I'll survive.

Off-Topic / Re: What do you prefer to do in the weekends?

I usually work every weekend doing side work for a particular well to do fellow, but this weekend I have no choice but to relax.  Just had double hernia surgery on Wednesday and it hurts more than I can say without expletives. :o  Doped up on my percocets and trying to find Family Guy and Tosh.o on the tube, anything funny to take my mind off the pain.  If I weren't in this position it might be nice to have a weekend without the hassle of work, might have to schedule some free time in the future under better circumstances.

Off-Topic / Re: Favorite Horror Movie
« on: June 30, 2011, 07:40:26 pm »Message ID: 377378
What's your favorite horror movie? I love the ones that keep you on the edge of your seat and got you screaming at the screen.  "Hurry, hurry, get out of there.  I think mine is the orginal Texas Chain Saw Masacre.  There's so many.

Sorry If I dug this corpse of a thread up and offend anyone, but the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre(1974) is by far my favorite scary movie.  I even had the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Atari game some years ago, but sold it complete in the box for about 400 dollars, yeah it is rare.  My other favorite scary movies in no particular order are Rosemary's Baby, Night of the Living Dead, Halloween, Friday the 13th(1st and 2nd), House on Cemetery Hill(Italian horror), and Evil Dead.

I was just recently laid off and I'm waiting on my unemployment.  My unemployment check is more than I would make working 50 hours at
Walmart, but still not enough to live off.  Catch 22.

It started out well for me, but the last few offers I've tried go on and on and on and I'm doing surveys for nearly an hour for 50 cents.  I've gotten to the last steps on a few offers and either my computer is screwing up or it's the offer site not working correctly.  I tried to click on complete and it's not registering after I spent a long time doing surveys.  I'll mention the offer site when I find it again to see if it's just me or not.  Hope it goes better from here on out.

Off-Topic / Re: how often do you cook at home?
« on: June 30, 2011, 07:05:46 pm »Message ID: 377363
I have a great wife, but when it comes to cooking the stereotype doesn't work for her.  She apparently never learned how to cook from her mother and neither did I.  Both of us try to experiment in the kitchen, but the results are lackluster more often than not.  I need to get a cook book and surprise my family with something awesome.

My daughter is 12 and I can't recall the last movie she went to.  She doesn't watch tv and really can't stand movies.  She is a little ADHD, but for the most part she just wants to talk on the phone and play outside.  I was 4 or 5 when my mom took me to my first movie, E.T.
