Off-Topic / Re: Thanksgiving Dishes
« on: November 25, 2011, 10:35:21 am »Message ID: 450874
I had a wonderful time on Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving Dinner is my most favorite meal of the year.  What are your favorite Thanksgiving dishes?

Of course it'd be your favorite! It's an excuse to fight over food and not feel bad  ;) haha. I Love the turkey in general; Though some people opt for ham instead. Jellied cranberry, homemade turkey gravy, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing. . . Anything and Everything!

Nothing. XD

"Nothing" G =
Gravity.
Gee, I hope gravity isn't a "nothing" kind of thing!

Try and find a good Y word, next person! This is a fun idea for a forum post

What would Thanksgiving be WITHOUT over-stuffing the turkey. . . And yourself!
The food here was absolutely delicious! I think my favorite part was the homemade turkey gravey. . . Yumm!
I guess in Canada they have Thanksgiving in October.

Thank goodness for a site/forum that actually keeps control of their issues! Not sure how many sites I've seen/been to where the rules specifically did NOT apply. Thanks for your hard work

"Respect is a very real thing for must people, and agree and disagree on opinions in this forum can be very strong, but we all can articulate in a respectful way toward each other. It not hard. "
Could it BE any Clearer than that???

Off-Topic / Re: Do you have a Christmas wish list?
« on: November 25, 2011, 10:27:13 am »Message ID: 450869
My family is always after me to make a list for christmas.  The problem is that there are very few material things I want or need.  I manage to come up with a few each year.  We exchange quite a few presents so it can be a problem for them.  I get lists from all but one son-in-law.  He is the hardest to buy for.  They are moving into a new house this week, so maybe he will have a list.

My Wish list consists of everything for my baby bump! She is Due December 26th, so that's a gift all on it's own. My personal wish list is just my wish. . . That she comes out to be healthy and beautiful  :)

For your son-in-law, figure out what is needed for the new house. You should ask him for a list as well. No need to be shy with family!

Debate & Discuss / Re: Should everyone speak and be taught the same language?
« on: November 25, 2011, 10:24:52 am »Message ID: 450868
In my opinion I believe that the best thing we have in this world is the diversity of races, culture, customs and language. Language is the living expression of culture. The world would become much less diverse and much less interesting if there was only one language.

What do you guys think?

It really would be much less diverse and interesting, but it's a good idea we all have some form/base to be able to communicate. English is widely known, and as long as we can all get in touch with each other in one way or another, there is no problem speaking multiple languages! It's like a communicative tradition!

How do you remeber your telephone #'s ?? :o

Usually numbers have some form of consistency. Whether it's having many of the same numbers, goes by multiples (246, etc.), there is usually always something catchy about it! Then again, I fully rely on my phone to remember them for me! Haha

Debate & Discuss / Re: Favorite Book
« on: November 25, 2011, 09:52:56 am »Message ID: 450855
What is your favorite book?  Mine was the God Father by Mario Puzo, (and the movie). My girlfriends was The Watchers by Dean Kuntz.

Any others out there?

Tender Morsels by Lango Lanagan is a great book! It's filled with symbolism, darkness, light, and survival of emotional entrapments. It's a risque book that I don't suggest for everyone (incestual rape, gang rape, symbolism that appears as *bleep*, but IT ISN'T!, etc.), but for those who like an emotional, deep, thoughtful book, I recommend this!

Debate & Discuss / Re: Dealing with abuse
« on: November 25, 2011, 09:49:07 am »Message ID: 450851
Abuse is more than just a tough situation. If any of you are like me, you have a 'denial period'. I went through an abusive relationship where the man raped me daily, and would toss me around. Plus he became extremely jealous if I talked to anyone else. My life consisted of being around him 24/7.
My second abusive relationship has been during my pregnancy. Mistakingly, I was very dependent on him and tried living through lies and anger. All our issues were caused by him, and when I tried getting after him for it, he tried any attempt to make it be me that was wrong. That' or he'd state low blow remarks. I can't believe I stayed with him so long. . . Especially after the time he flipped me over the couch, broke it, choking me telling me he would kill me. . . Luckily I never lost my child, and am due soon.

It was my major mistake to keep rose-tinted glasses on, and I feel selfish for trying to stick it out - Even though I know it was in desperation that things would turn out for the better.

My advice is when you Think it's Wrong. . . It is. Show yourself the truth of the matter, and get out while you still can. (Waiting until last minute like I did could risk your life.)

Debate & Discuss / Re: what do you think about child support
« on: November 25, 2011, 09:40:49 am »Message ID: 450842
i think you should't have to make someone take care of there children

There are people who won't provide for their children, and as a parent, unless they sign over legal rights, they Need to be supportive! It's not just an emotional fufillment they need to provide, or a physical one; Children need things. I'm a pro-child support kind of girl, because it helps the child full force  :)

1. The actual despcription would be based psychologically on being optimistic, and being content towards even lesser is positive.

2. My version of the description means I need a refill!  :bootyshake:

Debate & Discuss / Re: God is a Fake
« on: November 25, 2011, 09:27:16 am »Message ID: 450836
I really am realizing that God is a fake but I could create my own like a God is general that keeps everything in balance but not a personal Savior type of God.

What God do you believe in?

To each their own opinion. I'm guessing by the way this is stated you believe in a higher entity, right? I believe in higher power and God, but not fully sure if God created by biblical/Christian religion is fully factual. Gotta figure Something makes this complex world stable! Otherwise we'd all be in chaotic confusion and fear.
