Off-Topic / mini thanksgiving - anyone try it?
« on: December 20, 2018, 07:44:30 am »Message ID: 1252554
Last week I made sweet potato fries.  I didn't realize the only ones in my household who really enjoy the is my oldest daughter and I.  Since she's in college I had a ton of fries mostly all to myself.  So I didn't bake em all.  Saved what was peeled and cut to make a mini Thanksgiving dinner last night.  Instead of turkey we tenderized chicken, spread a layer of cream cheese onion and chive and rolled a piece of bacon in the middle then wrapped the chicken with more bacon.  Had all the fixin's and it was AMAZING! I think I'm going to make a mini Thanksgiving dinner once a month next year. BTW the entire meal took about an hour 1/2 to prepare and cook.

Off-Topic / e -shots

A follow up from a post regarding energy drinks.

e-shots are made by a company called Isagenix.  Think Pampered chef, tastefully simple type direct sales company.  I joined to reap the benefits of nutrition. And WOW! Can't say enough about how good I'm feeling.

Now I mentioned before I'd only had 1 e-shot.  Really liked the affect.  But I haven't purchased any more.  So at Kroger... up by the registers.  There is a Kroger energy support product. (It's not called energy shot though)  It's next to 5hr.  I tried one of those and Woozers! The mixed berry flavor was pleasant.  It gave me the same energy as the e-shot.  It's certainly much cheaper.  Although I'm not sure if nutritionally it compares.  I drank it with my lunch.  Around 3:30.  Ended up working a 11 hr. shift.  Came home and didn't crash!  Highly recommend this along with a healthy diet.  Just my opinion...

What are your thoughts on energy shots?

Has anyone used the evernote app?  I'm starting to become so busy I'm thinking I need to have something keep me on task.  Other than having pieces of paper to keep track of I'm thinking this may be easier? Dunno - we'll see.  Reviews anyone?

Off-Topic / Hocking Hills region of Ohio

Wow!  Wow! Wow! At this time this spot has made it to the top of our list.  I wish there were more things to do and see along the route however the drive isn't so bad and we could get there and still enjoy the night without wasting a full day in travel time.  So that's a huge perk.

Moving onto researching another recommendation.

Thanks for this suggestion - I've researched a bit and it's made it to the list of possibilities.  Other than traveling to Niagara the idea of traveling North never appealed to me much.  I've shared it with my husband and his interest has peaked too! Seems a nice B&B is there and there is plenty for us to do on the way there as well as venture other parts of Minnesota. Tonight I'll be looking at another suggestion from my original post!

Off-Topic / Couples vacation suggestions
« on: May 07, 2018, 05:57:55 am »Message ID: 1213888
We are getting ready to plan our much delayed honeymoon.  Any suggestions on where we should go in the US and what we should do there?

Here are some things we would like to include.

Secluded cabins with hiking trails that lead to waterfalls, caves, beaches.  Great food (sea-food is not a liking) mining would be fun,  Shows/comedy?

Things we want to avoid; horseback riding, mini golf, roller coasters

I'm always an instigator for starting a thread after reading and posting on another.  This time I've been prompted to ask... Who and where do you get your Bible lessons from?  I try to attend church every Sunday.  If I miss it the pastor where I attend has his sermons on youtube.  https://youtu.be/t6dD0IGnRv8

My favorite church to ever have been posts the Pastors sermons on Godtube. A blessing as my husband will watch them with me. https://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=022J0MNU

How many of us control our money rather than let our money control us?  Husband has been playing Ramsey talk show over u-tube since the first of January this year and I now find myself thinking about money more than ever.

Off-Topic / Oregon and Old buddy
« on: November 27, 2017, 08:00:58 am »Message ID: 1181708
....was reading an response from a previous post I'd made about what I want for Christmas.  A full tank of gas came up and Old buddy mentioned it being illegal to pump your own gas in Oregon.  Say what???? So it got me thinking.. I don't know much about Oregon.  What kind of seasons do they have?  Is it real real cold in the winter?  Real real HOT in the summer.  Are the springs and summer anything at all like they are in Chicago-land?  Curious mind...thinking bout' the future and taking in information.

« on: July 21, 2017, 06:52:55 am »Message ID: 1156049
So chatting with a friend whom is into all natural this and that introduces me to a product called Black Salve.  You guys ever hear of this stuff?  She uses it on cysts, warts, questionable nodules that just pop up.  I did a search on it and gotta say... looks like some scary stuff to have on hand in the medicine cabinet.

Is anyone living this lifestyle? I've been fascinated by the idea since I was a child.  About 10 years ago I came very close to living the RV lifestyle.  Looking for advice on which direction to go with the whole concept.

Off-Topic / Part 2 of coffee songs.
« on: November 16, 2016, 06:09:29 am »Message ID: 1105133
Tiramisu.  I love the flavor.  And so naturally it's going to be a flavor for my "in house  bakery" currently in developing stages.  One of the ideas I've had is to give deserts a song.... I have this vision of having a little spot in town with music playing softly in the background.  I have more coffee songs to listen to from the suggestions in another post.  My list is growing.

From this list...
Clouds in my coffee (Tiramisu)
Squeeze Black coffee in bed (Tiramisu)
Black Coffee - Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Collection(Tiramisu)
J.S.Bach: Coffee Cantata (Tiramisu)
Annette Hanshaw - You're The Cream In My Coffee (Tiramisu)
