Has anyone participated in this?  I'm always cautious with these as I've heard they can drop bugs on your system.  If so did it credit relatively quickly?

Off-Topic / Have ya heard of Zac George?
« on: December 14, 2014, 06:30:34 pm »Message ID: 943108
We recently brought home a 7 week old Jack Russel.  He's now 12 weeks.  I've had dogs before but my guy hasn't.  So I thought youtube videos were needed.  I stumbled across Zac George obedience trainer.  Anyone else ever hear of the guy?  I've learned so much in regard to training my Buster.

Burning a vanilla candle along with any other scent enhances the scent of the other candle burning.

Off-Topic / What get's in the way of family meal time?
« on: August 02, 2014, 04:55:52 am »Message ID: 905126
My family of 5 has experimented with family meal time over the 16 years with a variety of attempts to eat together.  It seems there is always something that get's in the way.  ie: schedule conflicts, sickness, power outages.  It seems there is always something causing us to adjust our family dinners.  I remember growing up being super busy and on nights we had to rush to the ball field or the gym my Mom still made dinner so we could all sit at the table for just 5 - 10 min.  What get's in the way of your family meals?

Off-Topic / Have you heard of the grapple?
« on: July 19, 2014, 01:10:22 pm »Message ID: 900784
Several months ago my oldest daughter decided she wanted to taste every apple that the local stores produce sections carried. One trip at wal-mart introduced us to the grapple.  They were sold in a 4 pk.  The idea was that they had a candy grape like flavor.  The problem was that the flavoring was just sprayed onto the skin of the apple.  I don't know bout all of you but I generally wash my produce before eating it.  Particularly apples.  So I washed most of the flavor down the drain.  We gave it two thumbs down.  Anybody else here of these?

Off-Topic / Blood clots - what an inconvience
« on: June 25, 2014, 11:25:20 am »Message ID: 893324
I went into my Dr for a recheck and within hours ended up being admitted to the hospital for blood clots.  I'm not quite 40 yet and it seems everyone I know is telling me horrible stories of there saga with clotting issues.  Does anybody have any good news on this problem.  I was only in the hospital for 24 hours and my dr. released me... giving myself shots of loveonex and taking cumidin orally.  Going through what they call finding the therapeutic phase.  Likely to be on cumidin for a limit of 3 months.  Sound familiar to anyone else?

Off-Topic / April Fools pranks
« on: April 01, 2014, 09:38:19 am »Message ID: 866182
We have the best April Fools prank planned on our kids.  2 weeks ago we had an ultrasound done.  We haven't told my 3 kids from a first marriage that we're expecting.  So today we're picking pink and blue decorated cupcakes up... we're sticking the ultrasound pic's on the fridge and putting notes up saying twins.  2 girls, 2 boys or 1 of each?  Okay so there is only one in there... I'm going to let my 7 year old take the cupcakes to school to tell her friends she's going to be a big sister.

Off-Topic / How do you use your avocados?
« on: February 18, 2014, 05:41:50 am »Message ID: 852053
In another post I wrote about using an avocado in a recipe for corn bread muffins.  I also like putting 1/2 an avocado in smoothies.  What are some things you do with avocados?

Off-Topic / They're 18... do they stay or do they go?
« on: February 02, 2014, 07:12:27 am »Message ID: 846609
My kids are getting older and the subject of becoming independent adults has come up frequently in our household.  I'm a believer that when you are 18 and out of high school it's time to make some grown up decisions and take on grown up responsibilities.  I have no problem with my kids living at home while going to college or pursuing career's... as long as they start paying for a % of the cost of living.  What are your views on this?  I was married and out of the house on my own at 19... directly after highschool my Mom expected me to pay for my own stuff. ie: make up, gas, car insurance

Debate & Discuss / Unique toppings for cheeseburgers?
« on: January 09, 2014, 06:34:20 am »Message ID: 838005
I like to add things to my burgers to put some whimsy in them.  The other night I had some Lawry's Hawaiian marinade left over... I added it to my ground chuck and grilled my burger on the stove top... I had a pineapple ring on it.. interesting flavor but the pineapple ring soaked my great value wheat bun...What kind of things other than basic ketchup, mustard, onions etc... do you like to add to your burgers?

Off-Topic / what to do when ... overheats?
« on: November 12, 2013, 09:52:11 am »Message ID: 817324
A refurbished Dell laptop get's so stinken hot it would burn my skin if I were wearing shorts and rested it on my legs.  It overheats and just shuts down.  Has anyone had a laptop that does this?  What were your tricks in keeping t cool so you could work uninterrupted?
