Off-Topic / Grammar and typos, could we avoid them?
« on: April 18, 2012, 03:27:41 am »Message ID: 522653
There is a plethora of grammar checking programs, mostly built in to your word processing app that people use in daily life.  Why is it when I read news articles, especially online and surf numerous websites, I find it hard to understand the point the author is getting at?  I know that I'm not the only one who feels this way!  It's like the emperor's new clothes, we are all thinking it.  I am no writing genus or a savant of any kind, I can't spell to save my life, I just want to make sure I understand correctly.  It makes me wonder do people care what they are writing about or is time too precious?  If I could work as a writer I would take pride in my work so, people know what the point is.  Also, when did "what" become spelled "wut or wat"?  Lastly, is anyone afraid that children will not do well in school due to texting?

Another thing, when did acronyms become the only way to spell?  It's as if teens have re-invented the English language.  My complaint isn't acronyms, it is the use of them.  Only use them when the people or person you are speaking to understands them.

Debate & Discuss / Ever Wonder If We Pray For the Wrong Thing
« on: April 11, 2012, 12:01:40 am »Message ID: 518951
I pray all the time, even in public.  Who cares if people stare at me.  What bothers me is if I am praying correctly, if I am praying for the right thing.  I would love it if there was no more illness, pain, greed, murder, sorrow, selfishness etc.  I know that if I pray for peace in the world I won't get it directly.  Maybe something small happens to give us a taste of peace.  I stopped praying that my illness with be cured because, it just seems selfish and that I am supposed to have it.  If everyone in the world were well then we won't learn.  I pray that people can get jobs, then I see an article that says 120K jobs have been added during the month of March.  Maybe as a people with have to pray for the right things together.

Suggestions / Check the BBB when going to other websites

I have been checking the TO GOOD TO BE TRUE websites that promise to pay hundreds of dollars when you pay their membership fee.  ShadowShopper.com has an F rating and there is no way that I would give it a whirl.  Keep in mind Fusion Cash is posting the company's info but that has nothing to do with them.  People please be smart with dealing with these people.  Yes, I too need money as much as the next but, I am can't sign up for that stuff just hoping that they are legit.

Off-Topic / Anyone Trying To Work From Home Due To Fibromyalgia or an Illness
« on: April 10, 2012, 09:16:34 pm »Message ID: 518891
I am trying to find out how to make money from home that is not hard to do.  If anyone has any tips or any ways of coping on how to do the surveys or work from home.  For me it is still really hard to sit in one position in front of a computer, I start feeling weak.

I would also like to know how people cope with painful illnesses, especially ones that that are chronic.  How do the people in your life cope?  Do you hate your body for betraying you as it has robbed you of a normal life?  Any thoughts are welcome, I don't judge.  You maybe surprised, myself and others may feel the same as you.
