Offers / Not a Good Day for Me

Started the day early and planned to work FC all day. Didn't happen. Another tree fell, this time at the neighbor's and landed on the wires again. Lost power again. It happened 13 times in a month in Nov. last year and then another 5 times in Dec.-Jan. This is the second one that came down in his yard. It's horrible around here. Two pests are killing all the trees. One is the Ash Borer and the other is the Spotted Lantern Flies. Our hill was full of trees until this summer. It is now empty or has "half" trees standing. They break off in wind and rain. In fact, we had one branch of a 50 foot tree break off last week and landed 12 inches from the house. If the rest of it goes in a southwest gust, goodbye roof over the bedroom and probably the kitchen. I just hope it happens in the day when no one is sleeping in the bedroom. Next door was somewhat luckier this time. Last time it took down a telephone pole and tore the wires out of the wall of his home. What bothers me the most is no electric, no TV, lights, and no phone along with other appliances. I have a cell phone now but because the Xfinity modem, I can't use it except to make phone calls. How do other people go online when power is out? That was the main reason I bought a cell phone.
We burn wood and wish the township would give us the wood from the trees that come down but they say they can't, against the rules. They used to do that but now they take it to their township building and let it rot. Today's tree had to use a backhoe to load the small dump trucks and only 4-5 pieces of the trunk fit in the trucks. So easy to just come 100 feet to our woodpile and dump it. It's a real bummer.
