I think we do it so that we can achieve similar 'glory' without fearing we might also have to face crucifixion. 

This is a very strange line of reasoning....You mean He had to "declare" Himself Son of God,to be the Son of God?

That's just messed up theology.

I rarely sew anymore, unless it is just repairing items.

I used to sew quite a bit when the kids were young.  T-shirts, shorts, dresses, curtains, aprons.....    quote 

A serger sewing machine is easy to use.  Threading it is the hardest part.  If you have the manual, you should be able to manage that.  A serger cuts off extra seam allowance as it overcasts the seam allowance so it makes for a very nice edge.
