Off-Topic / Re: How Do You Fill the Need-to-Be-Needed?

nothing, I prefer my own company over others honestly, not to be rude but it's just how I am.
I think you're the kind of person I want to help; the most 'appreciation' I seek from you is 'that you depend on me for the help,' but I then start to try to help you in every possible way I can (and get 'Jealous' when you seek help from anyone else in areas where I helped you in the past ... like God in the Old Testament).

Maybe that's why Paul seems to say that we each only have ONE gift---so that we don't forget that each of us are only PART of the Body.

(My right arm itches; my left arm wants to scratch it, a wish it would not have if the right arm did not tell the brain and -if the brain did not tell the left-arm. So who is YOUR brain? Who tells another body-part when YOU 'itch' (or whatever other discomfort that other can alleviate)?)

Support / How to Thank Forum-Members
« on: December 09, 2013, 09:11:02 am »Message ID: 827216
As far as I know, I'm still "Thanked: 0x".  I'm thinking that--if I thank others--I'm more-likely to BE thanked more.

But I do not know how to thank others!

Educate me in this!

Debate & Discuss / Re: Is Jesus For- or Against Married Life?

... Jesus approved of His fathers arrangment for marriage.
His father's arrangement ... do you mean Our Father's arrangement? And what exactly was that? What did Adam do? 'Okay, girl. You're mine; stay with me'?

Or do you mean Joseph's---to find a girl who gets pregnant and to marry her to 'make her look honest'?
Quote
He also 'did come' to do His fathers work.
And what was 'His father's work'?
Quote
If he had children out of wed-lock that would have been a sin ...
And where does the Bible say that?

Where I get confused is ... with the Evangelical Covenant Church. They say every Christian's life-mission is to 'make disciples' (that --without that mission--we would have been better off just 'passing-away' after baptism!) What discipline are we to follow?

I think of church---oh, I offer all kinds of 'encouragement' & 'humor' etc.; but if I don't show up, church goes on anyway (oh, not as cheerful or -empowered or -something; but just as "good" ... i.e. I don't think anyone's stopping just because 'I miss service too often'!)

That's what I want sometimes: not 'for anyone to be absent from church-service,' but rather 'something that people hopes will happen, which WON'T happen unless I'm there to let it!'

What should I do?  >:(

He approved of marriage, but He didn't have His own in life? What does that mean to us?

Offers / Let Me Get This Straight: I Need to Go to the Forum Bonus RF EVERY MONTH?
« on: December 06, 2013, 09:59:23 am »Message ID: 826215
I've got the (locked) topic that mentions it bookmarked, but ... I guess I don't understand ... something about 'how the money works' (I guess I imagine it as 'the webmaster gets a HUGE deposit, which he then doles out to us members as our submissions for that month show us to be worthy  :angel11:')

I dunno. Do these discussions NOT display the dates they're posted? Is there not a PROGRAM that can survey the last month's submissions & deliver all the names therein? I'm not DEMANDING that there be one, but it just seems more-convenient (to all the members' seems more an inconvenience to the webmaster, like 'extra customer-service  :notworthy:').

But I hope--not that the webmaster bestows their great grace  :notworthy: in making such a program (though it'd be much-appreciated if they did)--that my fellow forum members can remember to submit their bonus-requests for the $3 each month (or as often as FC advises)!

I don't know much about the guy, except that he led African-Africans against apartheid in South Africa.

What do you like best about the man?
