Off-Topic / Out of the Mouths of Babes...
« on: August 28, 2015, 08:55:25 am »Message ID: 1007125

A few weeks ago I responded to a thread where a user posted a funny quote from his/her child.  I left a reply and referenced a collection of my own daughter's quotes that I wanted to share with others here, but I think because my comment was in the middle of many other replies, not as many people read the various thread replies, but instead read the initial post and then add their own reply. (Not criticizing, just saying some do, but most do not.)

So I decided to start a new thread on the topic.  Hopefully I am not breaking any rules by discussing the web site I have devoted to my daughter's quotes over the years.  I'm not going to add a link to the site address, but it is called Words of Wisdom with a tagline: "A sometimes confused - but often very wise and insightful - little girl, trying to understand and express herself in a grownup world. Many questionable quotes and quotable questions!"  A search of those should turn it up.

Let's all keep our ears open to the funny things that kids say!

Payments / First payment!!!
« on: August 18, 2015, 07:04:11 am »Message ID: 1005172
I got my first payment today!  First thing I did was request the $1.00 bonus.  I had to jump through a couple of hoops, but it finally got accepted on my third try.  I blacked out the first part of my email address, but not the domain, which contains my last name.  They did not like that information left in.

I DID black out the PayPal transaction ID and the cashout number in the Notes.  They did not like the cashout number blacked out.

I often post payment proofs to my own web site and always black out PayPal transaction ID's and the first part of my email address to prevent spam; but leave the ending so viewers can see that the payment email in the proof and my website have the same domain name -- just for further verification that the proofs are legitimate.  I routinely black out any transaction numbers just in case, so that led me to black out the Fusion Cash cashout number, but I guess they need that left in for their verification purposes.

So I guess I will just submit one proof to FC and post an alternate one on my web site with different black outs!

Here's to many more FC cashouts!!!

FusionCash / Referrals rejected
« on: August 15, 2015, 12:19:53 pm »Message ID: 1004648
I logged in this afternoon and thought that my earnings looked off from what I had been doing the last few days on Fusion Cash.  After looking into it, I see that two of my referrals from earlier this month (who had previously given me an approved $1 bonus) each are now listed as DENIED on my credit details page.  Basically all of my referrals come from a referral link I have posted on my own web site, so I have no personal connection or contact with them to see/ask directly what happened.  Is this possibly the result of these referrals violating something in the FC terms?  I just want to make certain that my account is not in jeopardy for anything.

They both signed up on the same day, so I wonder if there may have been a connection between the two -- maybe both in the same household or something like that...

While I am sad to see two quick dollars subtracted from my total, I know that I can earn that back and more very easily!  Thanks to anyone else who has had this happen in the past who can offer advice and experience.

Off-Topic / Sleep Apnea
« on: August 13, 2015, 09:32:47 am »Message ID: 1004208
Does anyone here suffer from sleep apnea?

I was just recently diagnosed and had a second sleep test last night where they monitored my night using a CPAP breathing machine.  I think it went pretty well, but have to admit that the machine and mask are going to take some time to get used to! I am actually relieved with the diagnosis as it will likely solve another medical riddle that first came up a few months ago during a routine doctor visit.  I prefer this treatment to the uncertainty and other tests that the specialist outlined as necessary if the sleep apnea test came back negative.

My dad also had sleep apnea, but was only diagnosed a few years before he died this past February. He also had early onset Alzheimers and a number of other heart and lung issues that also required additional treatment, and a feeding tube on top of all that.  So even though he was still aware (Alzheimer's attacked his memory, but he still recognized all of us right up to the end) but he was not really able to articulate in great detail how he handled the apnea treatment -- nor was he able to isolate that treatment from the other unrelated treatments and feedings.

So I am just looking for any isolated impressions from others with experience.

FusionCash / Paid to Click
« on: August 13, 2015, 09:15:35 am »Message ID: 1004201
My PC was not working properly this morning when I tried to get my early morning Fusion Cash fix, so I pulled it ip on my iPhone instead.  When I tried to do my daily PTC routine, I was greeted with the error that it cannot be done on a mobile device and had to be done on a laptop or desktop.  So I tried the VIDEO tab and was able to watch five of the penny video options from my phone, which I GOT credit for.

Later when my laptop was working again, I did the PTC bit, but noticed that the five videos I was credited did not satisfy the eligibility requirement for earning PTC credit tomorrow.  It still showed that I earned 0 cents toward that.  No big deal, I was able to do another five penny videos and qualify.  But my question is this: does that mean that I must get my PTC 15 cents on day X BEFORE I can complete the qualifying earnings for day Y's PTC?

I assume that is the case, but since I did the first round of penny videos on my cell phone (and got the error referenced above), I just wanted to be sure for future purposes that it wasn't because of watching them on my phone.  I can test this out tomorrow by doing everything on my PC and watch a few penny videos before doing the PTC sequence to see if I get the same result, but thought I would ask the question in the forum anyway.

Support / Forum Contests
« on: August 04, 2015, 07:11:26 am »Message ID: 1002092
Is there a trick to getting credit for the forum contests? Is there a shorter deadline to respond or a limited number of entries accepted?  I have done it two or three times since I signed up a month ago, but don't believe I have ever gotten credit for any responses.  I scrolled through my posted credits and don't see any entries for "Tuesday Promotion" or "Saturday Promotion" like others seem to paste/post into the forum.

I've only been clicking on the CURRENT CONTEST links -- not always ON the day they are first posted, but always before the next one is up.  I fill out and submit the answer form, but never see anything added as a result.  I've got to be missing something simple, but I cannot figure out what it is.  ???

Is there an extra step to register for these?  I am confused.

Off-Topic / How/where did you meet your spouse/significant other?
« on: August 03, 2015, 08:07:00 am »Message ID: 1001758
Question is self explanatory in the subject line, so I will just give my answer.  We met while serving together on a church retreat team and slowly got to know each other through that team building process over several weeks and over the retreat weekend while assigned to the same small table/group.  I do not believe it was a coincidence that we both served on the same team together. I believe it was a higher plan at work!

Suggestions / Referral Details
« on: August 01, 2015, 04:42:12 am »Message ID: 1001042
I have a suggestion for the referral activity details page.  If it is possible, it would be nice to see which referrals are regularly or semi-regularly active and their current progress toward a qualifying cash out bonus. The three bonus opportunities are nice, but I could get a LOT more excited about referrals if I was able to see that they are getting closer to cashing out (or even that they are trying). As it stands now, there is no wsy to know whether a referral is active or not.

As a secondary suggestion, I would like to be able to sort the referral list based on the date of the referrals' most recent activity.

Off-Topic / Be Careful out there at RR crossings!
« on: August 01, 2015, 04:37:13 am »Message ID: 1001041
A local street was closed down yesterday sfternoon at a RR crossing and the newdpaper reported that a pedestrian was killed at that crossing. Early this morning the story was updated to report a 15 year old boy was on his bike waiting at the crossing as the gates were down. The train passed by and as is normal, the gates did not immediately rise. Eyewitnesses waiting in stopped cars say the boy started through the crossing after the train cleared the area, but before the gates rose as was immediately hit by the train arriving from the opposite direction which was visually obscured by the first train.

Be safe out there at RR crossings, people. If the gates are down, STAY PUT! It's not worth losing a life over.  And even if this is something you would never do yourself, TALK TO YOUR KIDS about it!

FusionCash / Earnings Banner updates
« on: July 15, 2015, 11:23:34 am »Message ID: 997048
When or how often are the earnings in the banner ads updated?  Is that a certain time or times each day or is it just random?  I only ask because I've added a banner ad to my web site and to my forum signature.  At the time I am posting this question, they each say something slightly different, and both are a bit less than the balance that is listed on my account header visible only to me on the FC web site.   :confused1:

Off-Topic / Any NL Central Baseball Fans?
« on: July 13, 2015, 01:02:02 pm »Message ID: 996610
I was wondering if there were any National League Central Division baseball fans in the house, or baseball fans in general who may have seen the games Saturday and Sunday night between the Cardinals and Pirates.  I am quite biased having been a Pirates fan since my youth in the 70's, and I am sure that St. Louis backers might not be as enthusiastic about the results, but I am trying to remember a more exciting and dramatic non-playoff series.  I am coming up empty.

Are there any other Buc-Backers in the FusionCash forum?  :highfive:
