Debate & Discuss / Twitter and Facebook think that you don't deserve to hear this!!!
« on: October 15, 2020, 08:41:14 am »Message ID: 1342313

I posted a link yesterday in response to another thread about Joe Biden, but it was buried deep down in the thread and likely would not be seen by many since most people only read and respond to the initial post in any given thread...

That story yesterday involves Joe and Hunter Biden and their corruptive dealings with the Ukraine. The New York Post broke the story.

But the news has changed because Twitter and Facebook have been censoring and prohibiting the sharing of this news story on their platforms. The even blocked the New York Post from posting the story on its own social media feeds. Clearly a violation of free speech - trying to keep people from sharing this news in effort to suppress its dissemination.

Today, Twitter is also blocking a second story from the New York Post regarding Hunter Biden cashing in on a Chinese company. Both of these stories stem from Hunter Biden emails.

Because they cannot be shared on Twitter or Facebook, but still should be seen by the American voting public, I am sharing BOTH of those story links here. Feel free to read or ignore or dispute - I really don't care... but when big tech media is deciding for you whether you have access/exposure to the stories
that is a big problem!!!!!

Off-Topic / Sneezing etiquette

So the scenario is as follows: you're out in public, at the store or in an area with other people milling about and you have to sneeze. Are you supposed to pull your mask down and sneeze into you elbow/sleeve? Or are you supposed to sneeze into your face mask as it covers your mouse and nose?

I vote for uncovered into your elbow, but what with all the new rules and other people getting offended at mask removals, I wanted to see what others think.

As if we needed any extra incentive to vote this year, the next 40+ days leading up to the election (and the few months afterward, depending upon whether Trump or Biden wins) has just gotten 1,000 times more interesting. With the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, God rest her soul, the tone and focus of the November election is going to take a significant change. Prior to her death, I knew there was a good chance that her seat on the court would become vacant during the next Presidential term - which greatly impacted my vote in November. Now that she has died before that next term, it solidifies the need to re-elect Donald Trump (or conversely - makes it that much more important for many others with different belief systems to make sure that Trump does not get re-elected).

But there is a strong likelihood that Trump makes a nomination to fill her seat and the Republican majority Senate moves forward with confirmation hearings. My personal prediction [hope] is that Amy Coney Barrett is nominated sometime in the next week or two by Trump and sworn in sometime before the next inauguration in January of 2021.

Regardless of how things progress, one thing is for certain. We are about to see new levels of hatred and venomous liberal attacks upon both Trump and his nominee. I pray for whomever her chooses that they have a thick skin and a strong family - neither of whom deserve the slander that is about to come their way.

Debate & Discuss / Vandalism - Pure and Simple
« on: September 15, 2020, 10:51:31 am »Message ID: 1339290
I was walking around my neighborhood this morning and along a main thoroughfare through town (overall a very liberal county in Ohio). I saw several Joe Biden yard signs and a few other local Democratic campaign signs. Some Biden sign locations had rainbow flags and some had references to Black Lives Matter or George Floyd. Others had no other political/social messages other than support for Biden.

Then I came across a yard that had two two-sided Trump/Pence campaign signs in the front yard. All four signs were vandalized with "BLM" spray painted over the sign:

I am far from undecided with my vote - which should be no secret here - so this in and of itself is not going to sway my decision. But stuff like this just makes me shake my head and if I was undecided, this kind of crap would definitely sway my decision in the direction of Trump. It is something so insignificant, yet speaks volumes. The mantra of the liberal left = "Free speech, opinions, and respect for others' property only matter if we are in agreement. If I oppose them, then I can disregard and vandalize to my heart's content." This is a microcosm of the BLM riots and vandalism.

Last fall we had a local "politician" (I use that term very loosely as he was also a convicted rapist of an under age girl and a deadbeat who has been dodging many monetary civil legal judgments pending against him) who had somehow been previously elected as a city commissioner. He was running for re-election and had many blind supporters, but also several detractors (including the editor of the local newspaper). I had a personal/professional beef with this guy and so I very much wanted to see him lose. Every time I saw one of his campaign signs, it made me sick to my stomach that he was trying to impose his will on local politics, but I refrained from taking any unlawful action against his lying campaign signs.

It turns out that this jerk filed police complaints against several people that he suspected (no proof - just his suspicions) had stolen or vandalized his campaign signs.

Knowing what I know of this guy, he would have been fully on board with the vandalism I photographed above, but was a whiny crybaby when he felt people were disposing his own signs. I thank God that he was not re-elected to serve on our city commission. I hope Joe and Kamala falter as well.

I also hope that the fella who placed the signs above has a Ring doorbell or some kind of security cameras at his house. Most likely the vandal cowards did this deed under the cover of darkness and will not be found or prosecuted. But here's hoping for some karma.

Donnamarg323,

(Preface this post to let you know in advance it is just a joke and meant to be lighthearted fun - NOT SERIOUS).
 ;) :angel11: ;) :angel11: ;)
We've had our disagreements on various topics, but we usually try to be civil and friendly and even funny at times.

I happened to notice that TODAY is your one year anniversary of signing up to FusionCash. Congrats on that!
But also when I looked - you have 666 total posts at this moment, which is an ironic ominous number of posts to have ON your one year anniversary to say the least.

Please please respond to this with something to get you past that horrible post number!

FusionCash / Today in History
« on: August 17, 2020, 04:21:33 am »Message ID: 1336289
I very rarely click on them, but today while doing my daily PTC on FusionCash I clicked on a link in the "Today in History" section where they list notable/celebrity births and deaths, etc. Basketball player Eddie Griffin died on this date in 2007. However, the link on the FC Today in History page links to the wrong Eddie Griffin.
 ::) ::) ::)
I seem to recall one of the handful of other times I clicked on a link here a few years ago - the same thing happened - they linked to the wrong wikipedia page of a person who shared the same name.
 ::) ::) ::)
It's not a big deal, but how difficult is it to cite check your links? I know it's not necessarily Fusion Cash but more likely an outside source that provides the content details and links. Just shoddy half-assed research in my opinion. Thankfully, I am not relying on this source for my own important research, but simply as a curiosity/time-wasting task as my daily 15¢ rolls in.

Off-Topic / "Kamala" Harris dead
« on: August 15, 2020, 07:22:19 pm »Message ID: 1336165
Ironic that a day or two before Joe Biden picked Kamala Harris as his V.P. running mate, the former professional wrestler known by his wrestling persona "Kamala" (whose real name was James Harris) died.

I've heard a conspiracy theory or two out there (long before he even announced Kamala as his running mate) that Joe Biden died several months ago and that the Joe Biden we have seen in the press hiding out over that time frame was a stand-in/clone/actor/hologram, meant to just hold in place until election day and get elected - then in January, after a 'fake' inauguration, the fake Joe would fall ill and die paving the way for his V.P. to take over.

Mind you, I have zero belief in this conspiracy myself, but it just seemed ironic to me that James "Kamala" Harris dies right before Senator Kamala Harris was named VP running mate - which could signal in some obscure ironic way (to a crazy lunatic) that the conspiracy is somehow real...

Debate & Discuss / Saw my first COVID campaign ad this morning...
« on: August 07, 2020, 05:30:51 am »Message ID: 1334995
The gist of the Biden campaign ad = A teary crying woman implies that the elderly are not a priority for Donald Trump and he killed my dead grandma with COVID. No explanation of how or why she blames Trump - just that it was his fault that she died.

I would bet money (if I had some expendable cash available) that she was probably more a victim of someone like Governor Cuomo.

It would have been shocking enough if that was the extent of it, but this ad was run on the FOX News channel. They are obviously right leaning in their reporting as a whole, but I wonder what those who say FOX News is just a puppet of the Republicans have to say about this ad. I could be wrong, but I doubt CNN or MSNBC would allow any Trump campaign ads on their airwaves.

Anyway - I'm sure this isn't the first COVID ad, but it's the first I've seen - and true to form - the Democrats are deceitful and vague in their blame of Trump for anything and everything bad, with no substance or proof of any connection to it.

Carry on. By running this kind fo crap - they are only reinforcing the need for all conservatives to go out and vote for Trump in November.

Suggestions / Pornography is against the TOS!!!
« on: July 30, 2020, 11:25:47 am »Message ID: 1333825
Any chance of getting the recent s.m.u.t. peddlers eradicated and putting measures in place to prevent them from infiltrating the forum? This stuff has no place here. My 80+ year old mother is a regular member here and is the one who asked me about it when she came across it in the forum. I also have a 13 year old daughter who is sometimes in the same room as me when I am browsing Fusion Cash. Thankfully she was not around when I came across the obscene photo my mom told me about, but there should be some sort of block on any new user's being able to post photos or links in the forum!!! That is absolutely ridiculous and FC should have had something already in place to keep this B.S. out of here!!!

Off-Topic / Porch Pirates
« on: July 18, 2020, 08:41:12 am »Message ID: 1332632
Has anyone ever had to deal with porch pirates? I see stories on the news all the time, but never had an issue until just recently. An Amazon package was stolen from our front porch yesterday sometime between 10:00 and 1:00. We don't have one of those video/security doorbells, but I am seriously considering getting one now.

It was only a $7.50 plastic bowl, thankfully, but it is the principle of the thing. I am a little upset with the post office because I was home at the time it was apparently delivered, but the carrier never rang the doorbell or knocked. The tracking number says that it was delivered at 10:04 a.m. and my wife got the mail around lunchtime.

For whatever reason, there was a delay between the time it was delivered and the time I got my pop-up text notice that is automatically set up with Amazon. I got a text alert at 1:49 p.m. that the item was delivered. So I immediately upon getting the text message went out front to grab and inspect my new bowl - only to find nothing there!

When I went to the post office about an hour ago, after doing some checking in back, the employee told me that the item was delivered as indicated and that they have a GPS signal in their tracking device that pinpoints the exact location of where an item was left - so they can tell if it was delivered to a back door or left with a neighbor, etc.

Really steamed right now! I'm not sure if I will be able to get a replacement or a refund or nothing, but I am going through the steps posted on Amazon to see. Thankfully, the birthday gift for my wife, which was part of the same order, was shipped and received separately a few days ago.

Off-Topic / Fishing by the Po!nt
« on: July 09, 2020, 05:09:53 am »Message ID: 1331676
I managed to get a walk in this morning just before sunrise when it is cooler and not quite so humid. I opted to walk along a newly opened walk/bike path along our downtown waterfront to a small park further up the shoreline (ironically called Shorelline Park) which has a nice view of Cedar Point across the Bay. I had seen and followed a coal hauler slowly pulling away from the coal docks and heading out toward Lake Erie proper and was hoping to catch up and get a few photos of it with a Cedar Point backdrop. When I got to a good vantage point, my phone camera didn't zoom tight enough for any good shots, so I opted to record some video of it instead.

Shortly after I started recording I thought I heard someone speaking, but there wasn't anybody nearby and I couldn't quite make out what they were saying... I thought I was hearing a number caller from a bingo game - I would hear a short phrase and a number; a brief pause for a few seconds and then another. There is a senior housing high rise right next to the park I was in and that was the direction the voice was coming from, but I had never heard of 6:00 a.m. bingo before! I still swore I could hear a guy say "blah blah number three....  blah blah blah four..."

A few seconds later I heard and then saw a few fishing boats approaching from that direction speeding out toward the tanker I was trying to photograph and then realized what I was hearing was a guy on a loud speaker. I had read (and since forgotten) a few days ago in the local paper about a bass fishing tournament which had been scheduled for upstate New York, but due to some COVID travel restrictions it was arranged to be reset to Lake Erie. The "Bingo caller" I heard was actually announcing each fishing pair and their clearance to depart for the day's catch.

There were quite a few contestants! I found a link online to the event and it had a few photos of the launch and the Cedar Point rollercoasters in the background. Maybe just a coincidence, but today also happens to be the long delayed and much anticipated opening day for Cedar Point itself. So here's to a productive day of catching fish and riding rollercoasters for those folks taking part in these two events. We need some normalcy to our summer of 2020!

Off-Topic / Paper Towels

Why is it so difficult to find regular sized paper towels at the store? Every single multi-pack of every single brand nowadays always seems to be the select-a-size paper towels. I hate those! Just give me my standard, one size, square sheet paper towels.

Off-Topic / Storm damage
« on: June 10, 2020, 06:01:20 pm »Message ID: 1328000
We had some significant storm damage in Sandusky, Ohio this evening. A large portion of our local historical theater was destroyed about two hours ago. They were reports of a funnel cloud, but I am not convinced that it was an actual tornado or just straight line winds. But an entire section of the roof caved in and much debris on the adjacent streets. Also many trees and power lines down and a laundromat across town caught on fire when live electric wires from a downed pole ignited the building.

We've gone to many concerts and shows at this location over the years. Such a heartbreaking loss for the community.
