We do not do exterior decorations. Tree and door wreath, etc. stay up at least until the Feast of the Epiphany.

You can actually submit previous months for paid to post if you forgot

^^^ What She Said!     If you are talking about your December posts where you had more than 30 posts by the end of December, but forgot to put in your claim for the $3 bonus - you can still do it and get that bonus credit!!! But once we roll into February, I think you lose that option for making a December claim.

Offers / Some surveys work; some don't
« on: January 11, 2018, 08:29:25 am »Message ID: 1191041
Last week I completed two surveys in the same day.  Both got to the final screen and SAID that they were complete.  Both then auto directed to another page which had DQ language and I ended up with no payment.  One was a pet survey that was pretty long; the other was one of those TV ad surveys where you watch several ads and click the UP/DOWN arrows in reaction to the ad. I was pretty upset with the wasted time and no credit.  Fast Forward a week later (on a day that I was having trouble getting my 5¢ PTC no less) and all of a sudden, my balance increased by $2.25!  I looked at the "My Account" page and saw credit for those two surveys from a week earlier that had acknowledged my completion before pulling that carpet out from under me.

But another one has me concerned and wondered what others here think or would do.  I took a survey yesterday that asked for opinions on a possible new food product to be offered at a popular restaurant.  The initial survey link description said it was a "Travel Survey" and the very first question asked me for the Canadian territory/province where I live.  There WAS NO "I don't live in Canada" option, or any way to select U.S. / Ohio.  I could either pick a Canadian province or close the survey window.  I selected "Ontario" and expected to get a DQ penny, instead it launched me into the above food item review and I completed the survey and got a $3.00 credit.

Is it dishonest or against the TOS to complete a survey saying that you live in Ontario when the survey does not give you any option to select none of the above? Like I said, I was just trying to get a penny DQ bonus after clicking on a survey link only described as "Travel" with no pre-indication of any specific geographic demographic requirements.

My thoughts at this point are to just keep an eye on my earnings and try to get at least $20 of non-bonus earnings before making my next cash out in case that $3 survey gets revoked after the fact.  But what would you folks do in that circumstance? Close out the window, or pick an inaccurate response to try to get a DQ?

I'm open to criticism if anyone disagrees with the choice I made...

Off-Topic / Re: Super Bowl anyone??
« on: January 11, 2018, 07:05:33 am »Message ID: 1191026
I do not like watching football in group settings, but we do sometimes go to Superbowl parties with friends, and I DESPISE watching games at sports bars or restaurants.  When I watch any football game (SB included), I want to see and hear what it going on on the TV broadcast. At SB parties and other group setting there is too much extra banter and conversation going on for my liking.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy gatherings with friends and am a sociable person, but if I am really interested in a game, I want to WATCH THE GAME!   LOL!!!

Unless it is an announcer I don't particularly care for, I like to be able to hear and take in the game analysis and I like to hear the referee's explanation of significant penalties or a complicated replay review.  None of that is really possible at a Superbowl party.   :(

But if we get invited, I still go and will sometimes plant myself in a spot next to the TV to catch as much as I can. I still socialize and I DO have a good time and enjoy the food.  My favorite SB party food is probably buffalo chicken/cheese dip.

Here's hoping that the Patriots DO NOT GET there and instead a black and gold AFC team is able to hoist the Lombardi trophy on February 4!!!

BEST sauce in the world, hands down, is the homemade stuff that my wife makes periodically.  I've been married for 12.5 years (and dated for a year plus before that) and I think I've only had store bought sauce twice in the last 14 years!  She said the rumor in her family (it was her mom's recipe before it passed down to my wife and her four sisters) was that people used to sip the warmed pasta sauce right out of a coffee mug by itself!  My plate is usually wiped clean when we have spaghetti for dinner!

Happens all the time.

Look how much the NY Knicks wasted on Phil Jackson.
After examining his record with the LA Lakers, I would suggest it might have been a problem with New York.

Not to mention his record in Chicago before that...

Just click the banner button and don't hit update profile button....that's where I was goofing up.

It's a bit counter-intuitive there. I made the same mistake myself way back when and it was pretty frustrating I remember.  When you hit the update profile button, it starts from scratch and clears out the changes you JUST made in that attempt to ... UPDATE YOUR PROFILE!!!

This tax overhaul is going to be great on so many levels!  It won't benefit us because we're retired but one of our daughters is a single mom working where she wants to but it doesn't pay very well. (good benefits though)  It will greatly benefit her!

[/size]I do not support his tax bill. It only benefits the rich people and large corporations.
Okay, so ONE of the two of you necessarily has to be incorrect.

many things are just now becoming legal that other countries have had for years

I am singling out this specific point from the others you made and I realize that it was not your primary focus, but this is not necessarily a knock on the U.S. or evidence of another country's superiority over us. Some things are illegal for a reason and should maybe remain so, even if "all the other kids are doing it!"

He's okay as a coach I suppose. I always hated him as an announcer, so I am happy he will no longer be doing MNF.

THE MOST underappreciated show in the history of television. Brilliant, funny, and realistic. It launched the careers of so many great actors and could have been so much better if the network idiots hadn't canceled it after only one season.

Not intending to hijack this thread here (not worried since I know most will not read this response anyway) but after reading a few of the responses above I have to say that although many are quite true, there are also many new challenges and dangers that our kids face today that we did not.  Top on THAT list is the danger of online predators posing as other kids.

Could it have been a spoof?  Or maybe it was meant to be educational, i.e. a warning about texting while driving or smoking.  Did you look at any of the slides?

I did not see that one.

I think you are right as it was kind of ... Hey this could happen if you do this.

I do not recall any of the specifics now, but I am pretty sure that I completed this AV on another site and this is exactly what it was.  Maybe not in the best taste, but not as nefarious as it sounds.
