Off-Topic / Re: Do you know how to make up your bed?

ANY way that a person makes up their own bed is "the right way", but if you are working for a hotel or other hospitality service, the way they tell you to do it is "the right way" for those beds.

It tends to come and go as far as availability. I just try to keep an eye open for it and jump on it if I have time to kill or still need to get my daily 5¢ and have no easy video options.

I have twice parked in handicapped parking spaces while using someone else's car with a handicapped placard - both times it was my mother's car. Once when I was driving her to the store and dropped her off at the door, but I knew that she would have to walk back out to the car. Another time, it was raining pretty steadily and I was driving her car to drop some stuff off at the recycling center for her. I was hoping to beat the rain, but I did not, so I went to a Walmart to 'wait it out'. I was visiting her from out of town and had no rain coat with me. I also had thrown my back out pretty severely a few days earlier. Sitting or driving a car did not bother it in the least, but walking and going from standing to sitting and vice versa was excruciating. I was able to use a shopping cart once I got into the store, but getting from the car to there was an adventure! So I did use a handicapped space for myself solo in that one instance.

Most of the time, I usually pick a space pretty far away form the store and walk all of it when my back is healthy.

This reminds me of another story though. One time before I had done something similar to my back and had to resort to using a cane to get around for a week or two. Even with the cane, I had a very noticeable limp. I was out for lunch with my family and a young man noticed my limp and my cane and he approached me, and asked me if I was injured in the service. Based on his demeanor and lead in - he was obviously prepared to thank me for my sacrifice. I admitted to him that it was nothing like that and just a back injury, but I acknowledged to him that there are many who have physically sacrificed quite a bit for our freedoms and although his assumption was wrong in my case, his gratitude toward someone he thought had made that sort of sacrifice was very well placed.

So let me pass along his gratitude to any others injured while serving our country.

So what was the point in saying they were whiny because the line did not move for 45 minutes?  I would have been aggravated about that too.  Not sure what that had to do with them not knowing the name of the boat in the movie was the Titanic.

Uhh, the point was exactly what I stated.  They were whiny and entitled. It had nothing directly to do with the Titanic comment, but was about the same group of kids. Sometimes it is possible for a forum post to have two or more independent ideas.

I just barely missed out on the draft last year by a few hours. I'd been watching since early August of this year for a thread announcing the 2017 league, but it never showed up.   :(

The thing is, there are plenty of people (including me) who will gladly do the 12 videos for a penny jobs and who have established a pattern and market for that pay scale, so there is no reason for advertisers to suddenly become generous and pay more for less work.

In my mind, on FC at least - it is more about hitting the daily minimum 5¢ mark to get the additional 15¢ PTC each day. Sometimes I am unable to hit on a survey, so instead I focus on just getting that minimum mark.  The 12 videos for a penny can be tedious to have to click through all 12 videos, but they are passive clicks where you don't have to give it your full attention (like you do a survey). I just do those in a separate tab or window while I read the news on another window. Stop at the end of reading one paragraph and click over to the next sequence on FC, then return to my news article.  It takes longer, but I'm not really losing any time over it.

I've seen similar arguments on other sites and apps - but ultimately the advertisers will pay as low as they can while still getting the same rate of clicks.  What they paid 5 or 10 (or 2) years ago (or how much they required us to click through for the same penny) is no longer relevant as more and more of us willingly do the longer work for the same pay.

Today my team's QB became the winningest QB in Cleveland since they returned to the NFL in 1999! (But he doesn't play for Cleveland)

You basically have to try to not earn the daily 5 cent minimum. As ladavia89 said, look to the tasks if you can't qualify for a survey or complete videos or look for TAP surveys. Those are both very easy to earn the 5 cent minimum.

Did we miss the window on this, or is there still a chance?  I have seen some leagues that don't form until after the first week in other scenarios.

Daughter in West Palm decided to stay home and not evacuate once the storm was projected to go west and hit the gulf  side. They HAD a plan to go to a reinforced concrete office building where her boyfriend runs a sandwich shop, but have since decided to stay home and bunker down. With tornado warnings and storm surge, I really wish they had just stuck with the original plan. #NotSomethingToPlayWith

Prayers to all involved.

As to the formatting, preview your comment before you post it and you'll see where those irritating formatting tags are and you can get rid of them. They are not impossible to delete. Just check before you post. :angel11:

:fish:

I actually did that three separate times and they kept popping back up in different configurations when I would save my revisions. But thanks anyway.

Off-Topic / Gender Public Bathrooms
« on: September 08, 2017, 08:46:01 am »Message ID: 1166297
I had lunch at a restaurant last Sunday with my family. Just as our food was being delivered, I realized that I hadn't washed my hands (after recently touching a lot of handrails and other germy surfaces) so I got up to go to the bathroom to do that. I also needed to use the facilities anyway. I forgot that this restaurant's bathrooms were single seaters, and the men's room door was locked when I got there. So I waited. Another guy walked over while I was waiting, and then a third! Meanwhile a woman came over and went into the ladies room while we had a line waiting to get into the men's room!

After a few more minutes we heard the electric hand dryer in the men's room blowing and the guy behind me shot me a glance and an eye roll as if to say "Finally!" We were all a little bit shocked when the door opened and two adult women walked out of the men's room to see us standing there waiting in a line. They both started laughing and one of them remarked that it had a shorter line than the ladies room when they went in. I wasn't all that amused. My food was getting cold and there was a line behind me, so I decided to just wash the paws and give up the room to the next guy in line.

So my question is this: Was it a fair/opportunistic move or their part to take advantage of the empty facility even though they were not men? Or was it foul to tie up the men's room when none of us knew it was women using the men's room while we all passed on the opportunity to use an empty women's room because it is specifically meant for girls and not for guys?

I understand just from the plumbing and process that facility breaks generally take longer for the fairer gender and I know that for the most part I don't have to suffer through bathroom lines as long as the ladies sometimes do. For that I am thankful. To be honest, if it wasn't for them thinking it was so funny when they came out laughing about it without offering any apology, I probably wouldn't have minded much.
Before I get jumped on by anyone, I'm not trying to whine (although I realize it may come across that way) - I'm just trying to get other perspectives on the scenario.

Another good place to start if you are new to the site is this thread: http://www.fusioncash.net/forum.php?topic=15241.0

It is an old thread with some info that might be outdated, but most of it (any maybe all of it -- I am not sure) is still very valuable to learning how and where to make money on FC.

Good Luck!
