Off-Topic / Air Conditioner Out Today
« on: August 05, 2018, 11:59:16 am »Message ID: 1231329
Our central air went out today of course on a Sunday.  Good news my husband repaired them for a living but the bad news is everyone is closed today to get the part  which cost about $16.  Called a Service place that is open 24/7 to see if they would sell the part and they will not but will make a service call for $200 plus repair cost.  Guess we are waiting until tomorrow when the stores open back up.  Box fans and ceiling fans helping but still 84 degrees in the house.  We are fine but dogs are not happy.

Off-Topic / United Airlines Steps Up this time
« on: June 09, 2018, 08:23:00 pm »Message ID: 1221125
My sister just called me to let me that her grand daughter fell at O'hare airport today and hit a concrete structural pole and split her head open.  Ava is 2 and needed 12 stitches.  The airport immediately called for a ambulance and took them to hospital and while they were in waiting room United Airlines called them to check on her and asked when they could re -book their flight free of charge. Luckily the doctor convinced my nephew and niece that all was well and they should take the vacation because they were going to cancel. When I called to check on her Ava told me that they are holding the plane for her to go on vacation tomorrow.  So happy all is well.

« on: May 25, 2018, 07:11:03 am »Message ID: 1217399
Since yesterday I keep getting the same message on samplicio surveys - Unfortunately, you haven't qualified for any surveys at this time. We hope you'll try again later.  It is all of the survey from them not just one or two.
Is anyone else having a problem with this?

Off-Topic / Another unexpected vet visit
« on: March 01, 2018, 07:57:43 pm »Message ID: 1200879
Well have been to the vet six times in the last three weeks with our younger dog due to her having problems with her leg that was repaired for a torn ACL  in 2014 and the second one in 2015.  Tried acupuncture three times and now she is in water treadmill therapy but today our older dog came in limping and holding up his leg.  I knew just by looking at him he torn his ACL. Call the vet and took him immediately and sure enough that is what he did.   He too has already had one done this past October.  Found out today that once they tear one there is a 60% chance that they will tear the other one.  So surgery schedule and six weeks of no stairs again and has be on a leash at all times during the six week recovery process along with water treadmill therapy.  Another hit to the wallet and a big one.  I love them both and guess I would do anything for them.

So I received an Instapot for Christmas and used it for the first time today. Tried baby back ribs (which I really do not like) they we done in 30 minutes and the meat fell off the bones.  I have to say it was the first time I really enjoyed ribs.  Cannot wait to try something else this weekend.
