since the real estate market crashed, rent has been alot more realistic here in Florida. We pay 800 a month for a 3/1 house with a 2 car garage. We went in half with our landloard to install a privacy fence in the backyard. (my loving fiancee installed it so we only came outta pocket $50) Nice quiet dead end street with old fashioned neighbors. My kids love it but we're gonna have to move this year. There's just no room for the new baby (due in July).

My rent is 960 plus water and electric. I live in the D.C. area (District of Columbia). This is actually very reasonble considering what most apartments go for in this area. Rent is usually pretty expensive if you live in a major city.

we pay $975 a month (utilities not included) for a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house in lake elsinore, california. its about 950 square feet, has an attached garage, a small fenced in front yard and a decent backyard. its a huge improvement over our previous place: a 1 bedroom apartment in el monte, california that cost us $900 a month and is now going for $1050. and this summer we are planning on moving into a bigger place, at least 3 bedroom 2 bathroom, either in lake elsinore or wildomar, and it looks like rent will be somewhere between $1100 and $1500.

My family (Hubby, Son, 2 dogs, and me) live in a 3 bedroom split level house.  We have a 20 year mortgage and pay $2450 a month (Mortgage, Taxes, Homeowners Ins.)  $350 for gas/electric, $50 for water/sewer.

A lot cheaper then when we lived in North Jersey.  We lived in a 2 bedroom cape cod and paid $2750 a month (We sold that house for more than we paid for our new house - which is 900 sq bigger.)
