Parents, will you tell your child that Santa Clause is Real?????

Do you think that it right to tell your youngest child that a fictional fat man with a white beard comes down the chimmney and leaves presents under the tree, every year?? Just curious.............

Ehhh, my kid is pretty smart, and she already knows at 1yrs old that there is something funny about Santa Clause and Boxes with wierd paper on them, but that doesn't stop her from opening her presents. The best part about it is that reguardless of what is inside the box, she is content with the box and the paper alone!!!!  Children are so honest.......

  Santa Claus is not fictional...maybe he is not the fat white bearded man who comes down your chimmney...Today we have the modern version...'the one who knocks at your door...and tries to help you and your love ones'.

yes i would tell my son that santa is real.  this past year i was dress up as santa.

Yep, I probably will. Its on old tradition that shouldnt die.. and it also gives children an insite to what the rest of their life is going to be like.. they're going to believe in a number of things that arent real and arent right... its kind of sadistic in a way but it opens their eyes to reality.. Id say its sort of a right-of-passage when I child finds out that santa isnt real... never giving them that false hope is depriving them of that.

yes i will tell my child santa is real, it is a tradition, and how do you know hes not if you dont believe. Seeing is believing and believing is seeing. You cant see the magic if you dont believe. Just like you cant see God but you know hes there. there is NO HARM in telling kids santa is real.

6-I have children ranging from 5-17 and I don't ever remember having that discussion with any of them.  As a child I never asked.  One day someone left gifts(a lot) at my front door Christmas morning for my 1st son and I really thought there was a real Santa, I was 19. I still do not know who put them there but I was thankful and preplanned for Christmas ever since. If children ask I say let them answer the questions for themselves.  "Mommy has been like Santa all year", says my precious daughter.

If I had kids yes I would tell them Santa is real. Because that would give me something to help reinforce being good. I remember when I was younger that my parents would tell me if I was bad they would call Santa and tell him what I had done so maybe he wouldn't come visit me.
