How is everyone feeling about Toyotas?
« on: February 11, 2010, 02:05:05 pm »
Just wanted to know. I'm feeling bad for the Toyota people, mistakes happen all the time. Would you buy one? Or would you buy one again?

I would feel bad for the people who currently purchased one recently. They got kind of screwed. It favors American car companies though, several have had increases in sales, which equals job security for their employees.

However, If I had the money, I would buy a Toyota after all this blows over. They are a huge company with the means to fix their issues, so they should recover. If Ford can keep afloat after their issues, then Toyota can.

Hum I think no one should judge the brand unless you have stocks or Intrests in the company...

I love Toyota brand, and think by far makes a great vehicle. I owned a Rav 4 for 6 years and had no trouble with it. When the time came I traded it in for a sedan from another auto maker Hyundai because I had limited funds to buy a new vehicle and I couldn't afford a Toyota.
I would definitely buy another Toyota, and plan to buy a hybrid probably in about 3 or 4 years.
I feel bad for the brand right now with the recalls and halting of manufacturing of new cars. I think Toyota will come through smelling like a rose when all is said and done.

At least I don't have to worry about sticking in mid-air whenever I jump anymore. "What a feeling" indeed!

I still love Toyota, I still drive mine. My car has over 280,000 miles on it and runs great. I would buy another one.

I had a toyota previa that we drove until it just wouldn't go anymore and we sold it to a junk yard. We loved our van and it had some 250,000 miles on it. We now have a honda that is great. I'm not sure with all the problems that toyota is having right now if I would consider buying one or not :dontknow:

Every car manufacturer in recent histroy has had to deal with recalls of some sort, remember the ford pinto gas tanks? and there have been others, I think that Toyota will rebound and people's trust will be restored eventually.

I just bought a '03 Toyoa 4 runner this month with like 170k miles on it. I got it for 8k because he was having a hard time selling it due to the toyota crisis. I checked the vin # and there wasn't a recall on it. It had never bee in an accident. The blue book is like 14k. I seriously mde out like a bandit with this purchase. People should really do their homework when it comes to the recall list. I have faith in Toyota!

Ya know, I've never been a huge fan of Toyotas, and this latest set of recalls just solidify's that in my mind.

Hopefully they'll get their act together.

I'm just sayin'.

I own a Toyota and it is great. The thing that gets me is people forget history. Just because Toyota had some problems everyone thinks negatively about them. They are fixing the vehicles and they were honest and forthcoming to everyone. They still have the best resale value of automobiles.
And lest we forget, remeber about 7 or 8 years ago when all US made trucks and SUVs were rolling because of the tires. How many accidents happened before the auto makers said anything. There were a lot more vehicles involved than with Toyota's latest problem. And then it took up to 2 years to fix because they couldn't get tires to replace the bad ones.

I've owned Toyotas all my (driving) life and I've loved them.  Now, though, I'm a bit wary- might have to switch to Honda for my next new car.
