we're already going green! but it's a process and if you take a look around, at least where I live, I definitely see a distinct change. Less people are driving cars and the underground biking culture is becoming much more main stream, most people use some form of mass transit sometime during the day, reusable bags are more popular, I actually have a place to put recyclable items, which I didn't have a year ago. And, there is a growing group of crafters coming up with thousands of ways to reuse just about everything and another thing I've noticed...organic foods and all natural house hold cleaning supplies have become relatively inexpensive and easily obtainable, more and more things are being made to be more energy efficient. Then there's the paperless billing offered by pretty much everyone. There has definitely been a shift in awareness and while these changes seem insignificant, theyre happening at a massive level. now its just down to convincing people to go a step further. things people are doing now don't really have a huge impact on their daily lives, theyre just little tweeks. what DOES need to happen is people need to care more! more than whats going on inside their own home. think about what you're buying, where its coming from and how that impacts those around you. you may buy organic food that has little or no negative impact on the environment in its production, but what good does that do if its being shipping from the other side of the world, using all of that fuel...just an example. but basically, all people need to do is be more considerate, and aware and less wasteful.
