a parents view on music today
« on: April 06, 2010, 12:51:04 pm »
as a mother i am appalled at some of the music my daughter likes. cussing, and sexuality, vualgarity, etc... recently however she has been crushing on justin bieber, if you have a teen girl i know you have heard this name. i have to say im ok with that. he is clean cut, and his music is not offensive.

as a mom i understand. i have 3 teen girls. i remind them that what goes in our ears and eyes goes to our minds then what goes to our minds goes to our hearts then wat goes to our hearts comes out our mouth and decisions and actions .

I totally agree with you all on todays music because alot of it is rubbish however there are a few good artists here and there. I'm 25 now but when I was in High School and Grade School, I listened to Beach Boys and Fleetwood Mac not any of the stuff that was popular.

I am 48 and have seen music do a 180 degree turn since the 70s.........But kids are smart enough for the most part to seperate the fact from the fiction and the point being is that the same kids that grew up listening to bands like "kiss" & "Judas Priest" etc. are now doctors and sucessful members of society, so, let them explore the gift of music and don't worry......they will make the right choices in the end.  :peace:
