BANK WONT CASH CHECK
« on: December 14, 2007, 11:25:19 am »
I took my FC check to the bank today and they said since it is out of state. Im in CA and its from MN. They can't cash it. Is there anyway that this current check could be voided and then I could get a paypal payment instead?

Thanks

i think they might beable to do that but.. you have to wait till the check runs out n i think that is 90 days.. but as far as not cashing it since it is out of state makes no since.... try depoing it and letting it clear before withdrawing.

that's what you have to do must times. or go to a check cashing place.

They, the bank, Bank of America, look at the check and say they cannot cash it. It never goes into my account.

Can't you just deposit it into your account with a deposit slip? Like at the ATM?

And is Bank of America the bank you have an account at? Or just where you're trying to cash the check?

I think people who just deposit the check into their account don't have any problems cashing it.

That's very odd because BOA is the bank I do all my business with. With my Veterinarian practice, I get checks from all over and I've not had one problem yet getting a check cashed. Some may take a few days to proccess b/c it's drawn on another bank but other than that, there's never been a refusal from a check.

Even out of state checks should not be a problem if you have an account with BOA. They will take a few days to clear but you should be able to deposit it into your account none the less. Why you're having problems is very odd, especially with that bank. :dontknow:

I dunno why they wouldn't could have something to do with them being one of the worst banks I have ver had. Take it over to WAMU and they say fine NP. They even offered to not place a hold on the check.

And yes I have an account at BOA.

You know, many people have complained about BOA. But me personally have never had a problem with the one here. It could be by state too as I have noticed some in different states are ran differently. I am glad to hear that you got it cashed though!

My husband had Bank of America when he first met and we could not stand them.  They find anything they can to add a fee to.

We go through WAMU too and they're cool...

I would just take it to a Check Cashing place..... forget the bank. BOA probably won't cash it because they think its a fraud. Well little do they know..... hehe...... at least we're making money they don't know about.

That's a problem with your bank, not Fusioncash or the checks. I handed mine to a teller and she handed me greenbacks, so I know they can be cashed.

B of A is totally douchey. I ALMOST took money out of a B of A ATM recently, until I found out that the fee for non cardholders was THREE DOLLARS!!! They're the WORST.

That's why I like our local bank. If you're out of town, use your card at an ATM that charges a fee, all I have to do is take the ATM receipt to my bank, and they'll deposit the ATM fee back into my account.  Pretty cool!

Well, most ATM's..and all actually that I've ever used, charged a fee for withdrawing money if you do not hold an account at their bank. Like I am a BOA customer and if I say used, Wachovia's ATM to withdraw money using my BOA card, Wachovia charges me $2.50. So all banks in my experience charge a non account holder fee for use of their ATM.
